uh yeah hello everyone i'm robbie cochran uh co-founder of chain guardians we are a blockchain gaming ecosystem with multiple products which basically utilize uh nfts uh and uh tokenization of our own asset um and today i'm just going to be talking to you all a little bit about how essentially i feel and many of the other let's say blockchain gaming founders in the space generally have a consensus that crypto blockchain gaming and the metaverse depending on what your kind of consideration of what that might be is is essentially going to be the leading kind of let's say driver of um mass adoption to cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies in general um so first of all i'm just going to try and see if i can get a little bit of a an affinity for um everybody's feelings or understanding of gaming in general within the audience so i'd just like to generally ask everybody if you if you wouldn't mind just popping your hand up if you recognize any of the images on the screen here it's more or less everyone right um could i just ask you if uh if you can put your hands up again if any of the images on the screen represent a game that you have played at any time in your lives yeah more or less everyone in the audience again uh okay let's go for um one more then um can you put your hands back up if this was or one of the images represents the first video game that you ever played in your lives okay so not everyone this time but still quite a few um which kind of leads into the argument and the thesis that i'm going to be presenting here is that essentially gaming triggers emotional events or connections to emotional events in our past lives for our from our earlier lives for example so let me just kind of give you an example of let's say how i can prove that can i ask you all to put your hands up if you can remember the first food that you ever ate when you were a child and your mother's breast milk doesn't count nobody right but you all remember the images on the screen which were associated with again so hopefully that kind of tells us that automatically this allows people to make connections to the younger selves and how important games are to basically who we are as people and our existence as individuals within a wider kind of society another question does anybody think it's possible to hear an image oh quite a few nod in okay fair enough well does anybody think it's not possible to hear an image you all think it's possible okay well that kind of puts a spanner in my works but just to kind of prove that maybe it is possible does anybody hear that image yeah i think like as soon as as soon as i see this it was like sega right it just comes in your head and it's again it's because it makes these kind of uh like emotional connections to our past right and um you know we experience emotional events through the games that we play we develop within a society we let's say form understandings of right and wrong and we learn massively through the games that we play um but i want to just bring this back to why this has anything to do with crypto and and cryptocurrency or adoption a little bit so i'm talking a little bit about me and that's me looking rather under the weather after a day at the races with terrible hair i've had a nice haircut for you all so that i look presentable um but i'm just going to tell a little bit about my experience and how that might be let's say appropriate to other people who are entering this space so when i came into the space it was probably on 2015 2016 and i was fell in love with the idea of decentralization as i'm sure many of you wonderful people here did too uh the idea of like permissionlessness the idea of trustlessness the idea of being responsible for my own finance right um but it isn't what made me stare initially i was kind of excited by it but then i quickly became bored um it was a case of well okay now now i've learned everything well not everything you never stop learning but i've learned enough to understand decentralization and blockchain technology safe for learning how to write smart contracts right so what made mister was a project called decentraland does it does anybody know i've heard of decentraland yeah a few nods in the audience um decentraland was pretty much the first of its kind it was what i would consider as like a virtual utopia kind of scenario um the original arguably the original metaverse sandbox came not too long after alongside it um and it was effectively this virtual environment that was built on the uh built on the ethereum blockchain now as you can see from the graphics it's maybe not for example the most let's say a visually aesthetically pleasing in the world and in some cases a lot of the feedback was about that um however this is all built natively in browser it's really impressive what they've done here but it was the different let's say opportunities and that excited me within the decentraland environment for example the opportunity to own digital land right be a digital landlord and monetize the content in whichever way ourselves felt uh felt fit um the opportunity for social interaction right as a representation of my digital self within this environment the gamification the mini games and of course nfts and um this is what really why you know i feel as though reflecting on my experience and how i became involved in cryptocurrency and the reasons why i stayed i i feel that there's three main reasons that we can point to as to why these are really strong indicators that blockchain gaming is going to be pivotal in mass adoption for blockchain and cryptocurrencies in general would anybody would like to hazard a guess of why i feel that image might be relevant to blockchain gaming anyone feeling brave enough nope that's okay i mean honestly it is quite literally as it looks i i would argue that blockchain gaming is the low hanging fruit to anybody who's coming into crypto currency in the blockchain gaming space here's why first of all player to earn now recently game fight and play game fight and play to earn have really made some waves in in the media many thanks to active infiniti uh if you caught the speech yesterday with alexander they've really kind of led the way for that right um and and then sort of like illuminated the potential for it to disrupt um not only blockchain but traditional markets such as gaming and i've just kind of um snapshotted a couple of tweets and and i didn't spend long for this because there's an abundance of examples uh on the left you can't really see it very well but this girl here talks about for example how um over 50 of axe infinity's daily active users which at the time a snapshot there were 1.6 but alexander would probably kill me if i don't correct that to around 2 million right now um of their users uh have never uh used blockchain technology before fifty percent of one so one million users never seen blockchain at all have no understanding of it until they met axe infiniti and learned about blockchain technology and alex talked yesterday about how some individuals there even send them like his seed for their seed fares by accident and all sorts right just shows how pivotal his role and the the blockchain gaming leaders roles are in edu educating but also for example the opportunity to give these new users in the space um you know a real use case for blockchain technology so first of all we can see that see obviously it's very critical in terms of let's say new people entering the space but on the right hand side here for example and this is from crypto blades now actually i'll have a billion of their own examples but i just thought to show a bit of a diversity that i'll pick another project um crypto blades um here's a tweet here from an individual from a developing nation indicating for he just cashed out over two years worth of his annual salary in less than two weeks of playing that game so what does that show us it shows us that there's a real opportunity now for individuals to actually you know monetize their time through blockchain gaming to make a real living wage in many developing nations and some of the stories that come through here on an individual level really kind of actually touch the heart because it makes a real difference to people on you know on the micro level and their lives um so first of all in terms of low hanging fruit and blockchain gaming you know what better way to make people engage with blockchain technology than the promise of them not only replacing their living wage but actually dwarfing their current living wage for example in a developing nation the second part of my argument here in terms of why crypto uh block jam gaming is key to critical uh or critical to um mass adoption is game of education now i i kind of coined that phrase so i doubt you've seen it before i've just kind of made it up on the spot but it essentially means gamification in education now in my past life i was actually a teacher for a period of time so i have quite a good understanding of teaching and learning pedagogy right just basically means how people learn and one of the key things that was really important for teachers to reflect on was that actually people learn exceptionally well through game through play if you look at for example pisa which is essentially like a governing body internationally for basically assessing how how a country's performance is reflected in their education a lot of the countries that perform particularly well are countries such as um you know the scandinavian countries you know uh like sweden finland in particular were like number two on that leaderboard for a long time and what can we do to actually look and reflect on that is that actually why is that the case well one of the key things here is that they don't start forcing like a curriculum on their children until they're about seven or eight they learn through player all the way and what does that show as it shows is that actually as individuals as a collector as a collective as a society we learn really well through education right uh for you know through game because if you achieve something you get that sense of achievement it relates psychologically speaking you release dopamine which makes you feel good you get you get the sense of feeling smart everybody likes to feel smart you promote good healthy competition and winning which like it or not within like uh you know let's say um a consumerist and a capitalist kind of essentially western world healthy competition is what everybody uh almost thrives upon and they're fun and they're exciting so it's like imagine being able to earn a real living wage through playing something you enjoy it it's it's really isn't is a no-brainer in that sense and uh the final one uh which may come as no surprise as to you know supporting the thesis of the importance of blockchain gaming with adoption is the rise of nfts nfts as a piece of technology really are redefining lots of what we know about asset ownership about the money about how we monetize our time and how we see potential from uh like a con let's say and maybe even an investment proposition nfts offer all of these different aspects now this image on screen here is just a screenshot i took of uh people's nft anyone familiar with that a few nods yeah i mean so people sold this nft for over 60 million dollars right so obviously there's a lot of interest in this space the other two are actually characters from chain guardians but the reason that nfts are really important for this uh or in terms of adoption to um cryptocurrency in general but also blockchain gaming is that effectively you are empowering the user and the individual to no longer be let's say the product but actually be the one that benefits from their ownership of an asset or the time that they are putting into any any platform let me give you an example i i often bring it back to this is if we have a look at for example um facebook uh sorry i call them out all the time but people are becoming more and more let's say aware that their time matters within platform and there is it's monetized right they're you if essentially if you're getting a service for free you are the product your product for facebook is your data and their ability to market that and sell that you know for for advertising purposes right um whereas there for example those platforms essentially extract all that value from us as an individual uh to essentially monetize it with nfts you've got the opportunity to pass that back depending on what say like functionality you build into it so for example if you're a gaming platform and you sell a load of gate like a load of game assets the owner of those assets is not you although you're like that's in my account but you don't own it that ip that digital property still belongs to those gaming gaming platforms whereas with nfts because it's decentralized and it's on the blockchain uh you've got provable ownership of that asset and this is really important in terms of um how we are empowered or how blockchain gaming is empowering users because nfts are typically what completely underpins uh the ecosystem of any blockchain gaming project um has anyone played the blockchain game yet for hands up for me has anyone not played a blockchain game yet quite more people well i'd just like you to encourage you to make sure that as chain guardians if you've not yet played a blockchain game uh just coming back to my thesis because obviously that's really important um for you guys to obviously uh remember the importance of blockchain gaming in cryptocurrency's key to mass adoption and that's it i'd just like to say thank you very much for listening so much awesome presentation robbie thanks so much and it's amazing just what's going on in the gaming space it's not just gaming but also the social aspect the marketplace and also the value at nfts and accreting it back to the actual user and we really loved the presentation and in fact the teachers union of the uk were on the phone and they're wondering when are you going to go back to teaching because you're doing an awesome job with this maybe we'll open up the floor to some questions we have a few moments if anybody has any questions for robbie on nfts or blockchain gaming as a whole gentleman here let's kick it off right now how you doing sir you're well good to see you uh maybe you can tell us a bit about the game chain guardians itself how it works talk economics mechanics gaming you know everything yeah absolutely uh thanks for the question i wondered how i was going to squeeze that in you know within a thesis um no i mean chain guardians is a blockchain gaming ecosystem so there's a player to an rpg uh so a role-playing game that users can experience through browser and in the not so distant future mobile we have an nft mining platform as well which enables users from not only our ecosystem but also our partnered uh blockchain gaming ecosystem projects to bring their nfts to a custom-built ui ux platform and stake those nfts to earn passive yield uh it's really a positive experience to showcase interoperability amongst let's say not only projects but also like communities as well um and within the let's say the chain guardians ecosystem there is a also a launchpad and incubation protocol for games that are looking to raise decentralized capital and the reason that we kind of introduced that into the ecosystem is just because we learned a lot from our own experiences and we felt that we could provide a really positive user experience and also opportunities for the founders anybody else behind me make sure i'm not missing anybody you have recently raised um financing around true way trade token would you like to talk to us a little bit about that and your experience of that how much you raised um use of proceeds going forward and um and what your plans are for maybe raising in the future and how we can know a little bit more about that yeah absolutely um so we did an idea for those of you that may or may not know what the acronym is basically means raised funds uh in march 2021 this year um in uh pocostata who we maintain a really good relationship with they were kind of one of the early movers in the decentralized capital fundraising the proceeds have been utilized to essentially increase our um our staff and also build our marketing team and development teams so that we can now uh let's say serve multiple lines of products that we're which now are you know within the chain guardian's ecosystem uh in terms of the future uh we've just announced that we'll be releasing our own metaverse on the micro level which is a 3d virtual world and we've essentially extended our team stack to be able to facilitate that building as well that's great well um if you look just over your right hand shoulder if you're fronting the stage like me you'll see chain guardians have a boot here so you're going to be hanging out there for the rest of the day yes please come and speak to me i would love to hear from you all and maybe you can all give me a bit of stick about how bad my presentation was or something thanks big hand for robbie good man keeping it live and locked down in the uk gaming we love that thanks robbie you
