How to start in Web3 - Ana Belén

[Laughter] today I'm going to show you that there's many many amazing things happening in the web 3 ecosystem and but there's something missing and is you today I'm going to help you how to find your place in web 3. before we start I want you to know my story well when I was very young and the internet appeared in Mexico this was like in 1996 I was born in that year so I obviously I don't remember anything but something very cool happened during 2000 and 2005 and it was the internet became Wireless and it's it's called Wi-Fi right so I was super amazed I was like oh my God this is a world changing and I was super amazed that I called my poppy Wi-Fi but in Spanish and yeah like this same feeling I I had it when I find out about blockchain and I studied international business so crypto for 24 7 payments was really I think so I started digging more and and learning more about blockchain about ethereum Etc so everything was amazing like nft is dolls you know but there was a lot of a lot of content a lot of information it was too much so I needed help so the first thing I did was to join a community so I joined a web 3 Community called espacio crypto in Mexico and I find out that there were people that knew a lot about crypto and other people like me that was seen serial like we were very crypto newbies so you started organizing some tourist places for everyone to learn from zero and yeah like every all those kind of things helped me as well to learn from others and me personally to learn about this crypto and then in this community I find out about bank lazau and maybe some of you know that knows about banglazer but frankly it's a huge loud you that lives in this court they have like 500 channels and like 100 gills or or teams for example they have translator skills marketing ill design Guild um for the developers skills PMS Etc so I joined bankless now and I just started contributing to the things that I interest I was interested to do so I was interested in design in marketing and translator skit so I just joined and start contributing there and something very cool happened but me by doing all those stuff I found something that is called ikigai and this is like a Japanese concept that that says when you find what what you love uh what the world needs and what you can be paid for and also what you're good at that's that's where you find like a more meaningful for your life so so I in that in that moment I realized that what I wanted to do is to create content about what three to eight people for sure blockchain and Technology where I was super amazed about that so we wanted to create and teach about it and building communities so yeah I quit my job and I started giving it out give it giving it out to the web tree ecosystem and studying different communities across Latin America like Mexico um and yeah like it was super super cool and in this path I've been super super lucky because there have been a lot of people that have helped me writing me many organizations that even have given me scholarships to attend different kind of events so today I want to help you to go to that like to help you to find your your place in web 3. and uh so maybe you're wondering why I think it's because we need more diversity in Webster in the western ecosystem with different backgrounds within knowledge uh yeah like that's something very very important we need to keep building the uf3 ecosystem and also the web free ecosystem needs a lot of talents like actually we need developers we need technical people but also we need project managers marketing people who are in marketing designers we need even doctors psychologists um I don't know like people who are interested in climate or social improvements we need a lot of talent so so yeah at the end we have three includes you going to give new five steps to get started in web3 the number one um well the number one is learn about the history of money by the basics of blockchain about Bitcoin and also about ethereum hey I'm just going to say it very very quickly but the first one is the history of money and what is money money is a structural construction to which we give a community value so since human immunity became sedentary we have had to exchange of goods for others and then we're also stores decided to use felt or cocoa or precious um purchase um precious metals or or even corn to to exchange some Goods so so then make something came that was called commodity money which was money that has had value by itself because it was made of gold or silver but then this just stopped because it was super risky and it's super heavy to to just using mirror Metals made of coins made of um gold so just stopped doing that and then the First Bank notes Bank notes began to be printed because people used to take their gold to the bank and the bank was was given some notes we saying that they had a certain amount of gold in in their bank accounts and then it's something that we are using right now is the is the Fiat money and the Fiat money a is like yes the issuance is at the discretion of the issue of or a central bank and yeah like this has been bringing some some problems but we are we are not digging into that uh I just wanted to say here that in 2008 a Bitcoin Bitcoin was born a white paperwork online where he proposed or she or their proposed a peer-to-peer payment system and a digital that it was digital and decentralized and yeah just uh quickly as well what is blockchain it's a huge centralized database you can add data and information like images messages or money also it is centralized and why is the centralized because it doesn't depend on one entity depends on different uh validator nodes that these ones are inside different computers around the world and yeah blockchain is super special because it's encrypted safe transferred decentralized and also it fights against censorship this is something very very important and also ethereum what is it is a program of production where algorithms known as smart contract can be created and execute and it is a platform for Global applications and payments where easy transfer programmable elitable and decentralized in ethereum leaves things like their token ether browse nfts um defy refi Etc but we are going to talk about it later as well you already learned about the history of money what's blockchain Backspaces of blockchain about and about Bitcoin and ethereum now the second thing you have to do is that you need to get a self-custodial wallet to interact with the ecosystem account an internal account and telegram account and Discord account because that's there that is where the community live and where you can learn more about the ecosystem and be be aware about all the things that are happening there and also opportunities and number three attemptuag3 conference so do you already have that one and also there's a hackathon happening so I really recommend you to join that as well so you can learn learn more about the web track ecosystem by doing uh so yeah the the other ones you already have it as well and something very important is to learn about security because sometimes there's links that can be malicious or even accounts that are a scam or are fake accounts especially right now with the arbits rooms airdrop that so someone can make a fake account of that so be aware of that be careful with that and number five five you really should join a very cool project uh number three has many many cool things going on there we have for sure crypto we have a art nfts made available uh gaming we have a startups in the world ecosystem Community platforms were in real life events and we have refined which is regenerative finances defy doesn't realize finances a scalability layer 2 knowledge security centralized centralized Society as well organizations and also public goods um so according to this map I for example if you are a developer I really recommend you to join uh a community for example developer now or even help on there's many more that that you can join as well I'm going to show you more later but this is like an example as well as well as something that I can recommend you is to attend to a web 3 hackathon so you can learn solidity in crypto zombies or alchemy.com and for sure join a weekly project or you can build one for example this is as well my case what if you are or designed a first of all you can join a committee as well start learning or contribute into some dials like bangla's law or ethereum.org which they are always receiving people to to cut to contribute um as well as you can attend to a web 3 hackathon here you can learn a lot as well by doing and you can send as well your resume to web3 um with three projects over there as well lawyers maybe here maybe here there's some layers or we have layers here it's cool well hopefully you're already working in web 3 if not you can join our three Community or maybe a Dao there's there's cyclizao they have a legal Guild if you want to each other getting into that ecosystem you can you can send me messages and they can give you access to it and I don't know maybe if you want to change the world with a public good or a regenerative idea and you can join as well a public good project uh also if you're an architect you can build in the metaverse I I we have some friends that are building in the metals because they were Architects and now they they love it so but like this is one opportunity you have there as well if you are an event
