over 500 startups in the crypto space have made their pitch they have put in an application those 500 were winner down to a top 10 extraordinary companies they presented on the Zebo stage to our panel of Judges judges were from three different investment companies uh they were from Deli frictionless capital and hack VC and now to make the announcement with us on he on stage right here at token 2049 is going to be one of our judges he's a general partner with hack VC please welcome Ro Patel Ro come on up it's time to find out who our winner is here we go that's right okay um Ro Patel thank you very much for being one of the judges it's a tremendous amount of work I've done it myself for the compe is huge um so what did you think of the competition overall uh it was awesome I mean it was super tough to decide on a winner the quality of each of the projects um also the bread of them they were all different and unique in their own ways um despite you know us having to pick one today uh I think they all have great potential in their own rights uh so it was a really tough choice uh they answered all the questions really well uh the pitches were concise awesome yeah and what did they tell you about the future of crypto I mean like what was the flavor of the companies that came through and does that does that give you you some insight as to what's coming down the line in terms of you know the the great new companies and what they're going to make possible in the future yeah I think one you know one one take ways the future um here there there's a lot of different verticals that you know can acre a lot of value you know normally in crypto you see a lot of the same things that people are generally interested in but uh here it's like you know you have uh one in gaming one in identity one in reaking aggregation uh and they all have potential and you know portfolio management and uh yeah just like the breath of the categories all with uh you know good prospects is is quite interesting so it's not just like you know there's one thing or two things in crypto that you know people should gravitate on um and I think that was a big takeaway from from this one all right so that tells us that crypto is going to be everywhere as we move into the future fantastic so let's have a good look at that trophy before it goes if anybody ever claims they were the winner in 2024 this is what the actual trophy looks like so this is what you can ask for all right uh what do you think Ro are we ready to do this let's do it all right so uh I've got I actually know the winner has been locked in my head I haven't even written it down God forbid somebody finds out so we're going to do and maybe if you could give me a countdown and then I will say it and it'll go up on the screen all right your winner of the Nexus startup competition 2024 3 2 one is Battle down let's have it here we go congratulations to battle now the win's coming right up here here on stage yes congratulations this is it good job there you go congratulations fantastic gentlemen our photographers are ready and waiting of course you got to get a picture all right guys there we go everybody [Music] in I'll tell you Sor guys let's put you in the middle cuz you're the star of this show I want you to there you go that's let them see the name on the trophy a little bit this way just come to me come to me come to me come to me there you [Music] go all right congratulations all right we have a winner we have a winner and we do have a few moments we're going to put a microphone in your hand you're good at making presentations so very quickly uh for people that maybe weren't at the Zebo stage where they were doing the preliminaries tell us what is battlebound all about uh yeah hi good to meet you all uh battlebound basically is a whole entire gaming ecosystem with the ex Riot employees that come with a fully fledged experience out of League of Legends uh and many other titles that were scaled up into billions and uh what is it we are going to bring it down into web3 all of it that is it all right sounds good congratulations all right and what is the next big step what should people look for from battlebound as they as they move forward the next big step will be launching the the play test worldwide publicly to everyone to experience what gaming en crypto should be really about all right that's great well congratulations you are the winner of the Nexus startup competition at token 2049 for the year 2024 let's hear for people make some noise yeah all right congratulations take that from you all right way to go all right
