Thank you everyone. So my name is Glenn and happy to see some faces here that we have you know seen over the past yesterday and today. So thank you for coming by to our booth and having a chat with us. So for some of you who perhaps had seen me yesterday already, we did also give another talk yesterday on the intersection of blockchain and AI. This is actually a introduction to a little new initiative that's done by the blockchain for good alliance.
So this is what we call the BGA impact leaders summit. So of course I want to keep this a little bit more formalized and a good evening to everybody. Thank you of course to our organizers Jan Luca also one of our advisers on the board of for BGA amazing guy. Thanks for this event and to everybody behind the control shift team. So it's you know all of you thank you for being here really is it's going to be a short little evening not so much on the noise of the industry but for the purpose of what blockchain as well as AI can do.
And it's also very fitting that we decide to do this here in Europe. Very few places on earth really have spent longer thinking about, you know, how to build institutions that will outlast the people who founded them, about law, about trust, about how a society really governs itself. That really in the end is what the entire BGA impact leader summit really is. But of course before I go a little bit deeper into what today is going to be, there's no slides on the stage. I'm just going to be talking so you guys have to bear with me.
Let me begin with briefly what we do at the blockchain for good alliance and what we really are. So if you guys only read the headlines over the past few years, you would likely you know you'll be forgiven you know for thinking that the entire industry about blockchain is just about crypto and it's just about speculation. So by some measures still today a very large portion 90% of our attention in the entire industry is really about price and about hype. So the blockchain for good alliance was founded by the founders of bybit in 2024 as its nonprofit initiative to give purpose to a different premise you know that the most interesting thing about blockchain technology is not what it can do for portfolios through crypto but what it can do for people. So we put this very summed up into three words purpose over profit.
The founders of bit has seen a gap in 2024 when they established the BGA. On one side they see brilliant blockchain for impact projects but it's scattered. It's underresourced. It's full of good ideas but with no real path to scale to funding or even to policy. And on the other hand you see the institutions the governments UN agencies NOS's which are pretty much left out of the conversation.
So they're unsure of what blockchain really means to them or what it's even used for for the betterment of the world. So there's no real bridge between these two. So the blockchain for good alliance we set out to be this bridge to bridge the projects the ecosystem together with UN agencies with governments and other NOS's today we spend about 600 different projects 600 different partners and over 1,200 different projects across more than 70 countries we work through multiple pillars and we are also part of the United Nations development programs blockchain advisory group so of course tonight this is about the blockchain for good alliances impact act leaders submit. This is really our newest initiative and in many ways some of our most important because it really will answer the final gap that I talked about the bridge for projects and partners to institutions. So when we launched the BGA ILS this is not a stage for pitches.
It's not a stage for polish to demos. It is a room for candid conversations among people who will actually decide whether good technology like blockchain and increasingly like AI will become public infrastructure for policy makers, regulators, financeers and the leaders across multilateral institutions to talk about. So we actually convened the first of this. Technically this is the second. The first one we did in March this year about a couple months ago.
We did it at the UK houses of parliament notably at the House of Lords in London. So one member of the house of parliament in UK told us afterward after our event the one phrase that stuck with him was indeed purpose over profit. Another UK parliament member actually told us that the evening he closed the line with one thing that I myself have actually carried with me ever since March. He says as blockchain becomes part of essential digital infrastructure we must make sure these systems are built for collective benefit. And that is exactly what we bring here tonight.
For some of you, perhaps you may have come by BGS booth and you have seen this. This is a little book that I'm holding right now. This is BGA's impact report. So, this impact report was something we launched in January this year and we went public about it. It's a view from the blockchain for good alliance.
It's not a marketing document. It is a it is a convening of different insights from across the field from BG's different perspectives from different programs and above all from the blockchain impact forum that we actually convened in the UN city in Copenhagen. So all the best government leaders the UN officials and all the top representatives across blockchain have consolidated their insights into one major report. So this is something that you guys can get a copy of at our booth and also right here with us. So of course the entire thing for our summit is not just centered on blockchain but also a little bit more about AI.
Just like what we mentioned yesterday if you guys were there we realized that the industry has shifted. We see that blockchain can become the trust layer and the trust foundation for AI. So that has also become another reason why we are convening these impact leader summits with the different organizations to also talk about not just what blockchain can do for the world but what blockchain can do for AI for the betterment of humanity. Now I don't want to take up too much time beyond this and I just want to give a quick thank you to the organizers again for giving us this stage and the opportunity to do the second round of the impact leader summit. So Jan Luca thank you and thank you very much and let's hop into the next initiative for this program.
Yeah thank you. Okay, thank you Glenn.
