Andrea Amenta. Okay, a big applause for Andrea. He will talk about green agents when AI becomes the sustainability enforcer on the blockchain. So, thank you, Andrea.

Okay. Can you listen me? Yeah? Okay, I know everyone is hungry and yeah, it's late already. But yeah, let's start.

So, first of all, yeah, I want to thank you, the organization of the control shift event. Last year I was here in Ethereum Naples and I discussed about AI agents as well. But in that case, I was discussing about how these agents were kind of polluting the environment, okay? But today I want to flip that and I want to offer you a different perspective about about the agents, okay? But let's start with a glass of wine.

Okay? So, I'm from Sicily, actually. I'm from Catania, that is a city with a volcano as well, as you can see. This is the Etna volcano. And below that, there are a lot of slopes where people are actually uh growing grapes.

These grapes are pretty tasty, okay? Pretty taste, because they are typical from that area and they are growing with the with the ash from the volcano. What What's happening? 2 years, not 2 years, 2 weeks ago, I was in Catania, okay, to uh an event of wine degustation. And I discussed with some of the wine owners.

And they told me, "There is an issue with the Etna DOC. Okay? Etna DOC is the label that uh the government give to the Etna grapes in order to make the wine." There is an issue, because there are wines that are €3 in the supermarket. And they have the label of Etna DOC.

Of course, these these grapes are not the real ones, okay? Because €3 for a bottle of Etna DOC is not real a an Etna DOC. So, what's happening? There is, of course, some fraud. And we can see that there was an investigation from the Italian government in the 2026, at the beginning of the year, where they actually um seized 2.

5 million liters uh liters of wine that was not DOC at all. So, actually, that is an issue. If we go to another part of the world, in this case Brazil, okay? We saw that some uh farm are actually providing soy to European providers. This soy is actually labeled as zero deforestation, but sometime it is not true.

Why? Because we can see from a satellite up in our heads 600 km up in our heads that the deforestation is actually happening, but we don't have a way to demonstrate that. That's why today I want to flip what I discussed last year in Ethereum Naples, okay? Today I want to say, "Why don't we use EI to enforce sustainability?" And actually, "Why don't we use EI to actually provide the truth?"

And I'm doing that in this moment because we have some legislation from the European Union that are actually supporting this topic, okay? The first one is the GI regulation. This is actually the the regulation related to geographical indication. This is actually the one that is giving the doc value to a lot of products, not only wine, but as well to Parmigiano cheese, pistacchio di Bronte, and so on. So, this is actually the regulation that is in place for Etna Rosso.

EUDR is a regulation that is related to the deforestation, okay? It's EU deforestation regulation, and actually is saying that all the companies in Europe that are importing seven commodities like cacao or coffee or soy, they need to prove that that that soy, for example, is coming not from a deforested area. If not, they will be fined for up to 4% of their annual income. Another regulation is the digital product passport that although it it doesn't explicitly say that it targets wine and food, at some point maybe it will work also in that sense. So that's why I started to work on this green agent architecture, okay, also by discussing with these wine owners and as well with some consortiums of pistachio in in Sicily.

And the architecture is actually this one that you can see here. There are three data flows. The first one is related to satellite imagery. Imagery, okay. So this is information that is actually free.

It's provided by a lot of providers like AWS, like Google. So we can actually see in real time the data about satellite images. So we fulfill the agent with this first flow of data. Then as well the producer declaration. Right now in order to be compliant for the DOC certification for example, the producer need to do reporting.

They did They need to do some compliance information. They need to fill a lot of information. So this one will be the producer information that we will will be filled in the EI agent. And as well on chain registries. So we would like I would like to actually put on chain the GI geographical indication of these these wine owners or pistachio owners.

What the EI agent will do with all these three flow of data, it will check independently how if the data is correct. So for example, imagine a wine a wine producer in Etna is saying that they are producing 50,000 L of Etna Rosso DOC. Okay, the AI agent is checking the declaration from the producer. He's checking if the wine uh slopes are uh the ones that are declared. They will check as well if there was some exceptional weather conditions and so on.

And as well, they will check the GI uh GI provenance registry. And as you can see, the agent will see will say in a few minutes if the there is a match. Everything is approved and verified. If not, we will pause the the flow until the uh everything is proved. There is a question that everyone is always asking me.

So, why we need to use uh blockchain in this case? Okay. So, the answer to this is that AI can be retrained. Okay. There is always if you use a normal database, the normal database can be uh like changed.

And also, AI can be retrained. Also, if there is like a legal officer that is coming to prove, everything could be bribed. So, that's why we want to use I want to use AI plus smart contracts because with the smart contract, we can actually have all the information uh traceable on chain and we can have all the information public and live on chain. So, actually, I'm not saying that blockchain is the infrastructure. The infrastructure is always the AI agent that is doing all the job that we said before, but the blockchain is just the trust layer in this case.

But, I want to be honest with everyone, okay, in in the in the room. Uh what we have now and what we need to build, okay? So, the technology is here. We can see that the the is actually feasible because we have all the satellite data, all the information about weather and so on. Everything is available in providers like Google, Amazon, and so on.

As well, we have carbon tokenization to launch chain and like barrel token protocol, everything is in there. As well, we have the agent framework together with the smart contract that are working already in through chain link, for example. And a full stack prototype is actually can be done in 1 week. I already did a demo, so it could be done very fast. What we don't have still is the legal framework, okay?

So, we have the laws, but in the laws, there are no information about smart contract. There is no information about blockchain. So, what we need right now is to have a legal recognition of on-chain activities that are actually connected to the laws and we can demonstrate that these requirements could be fulfilled with these green agents. In this way, we can actually fight the frauds that are actually happening every year in the European Union. Right now, if you are interested in these topics, okay, you can actually do three different things, okay?

For developers, everyone can build a green agent POC, okay? So, as I mentioned, I've been in discussion with uh with vine owners, but as well with pistachio owners and so on. So, it's something that they really want because they want to demonstrate the provenance of the product is pretty good, is original, and so on. So, if you are a developer, you can actually build it in a various way easy way, and as well, you can use a connection with smart contract using chain link. As I mentioned before, if we are a vine agrifood consortium.

Nobody in here I think is a consortium or a wine producer. You can actually contact with the with the with someone like me that can build the the application. And if someone is a Web3 builder, uh you can start working uh for the registry of the geographical indication. And this could be a market as a real-world asset. So, we know that uh in blockchain real-world asset are like a very uh famous topic right now.

So, it's something that yeah, you can as well work on it. So, just to end, okay? I So, I told you uh it will be fast. Okay. [laughter] So, just to finish, um the architecture as I mentioned is already here.

So, we can actually use AI to uh work on that and make it worth it. And as well, use AI together with smart with blockchain to make everything provable and everything work. So, as I mentioned in here, the planet doesn't need more promises. It just need very verifiable enforcement. And that's it.

Today, uh there is not a very few uh very big audience, but uh yeah.

You Thank you, Andrea. Okay, a big applause.

[applause]

Any question? Okay.
