So, first to ground us uh why we're here. BAS's mission is to build a global onchain economy or actually it's a global economy. Now, you might the diff we cut the onchain part. This global economy period global economy that increases innovation, creativity, and freedom. From a builder point of view, as Jesse just went over as well, our vision is to make base the best place for builders to go from idea to app to business.
So our team is broken up into these six different groups that empower builders in different ways. I'm going to cover the first four of these and then Antonio once he's here we'll cover the the last two. And the idea is as I said once we get through it we're going to kind of break out into uh roundt discussions with the different product leads for each of these areas. So, first up, at the base of it all, it was a pun I put in my script, but just gonna scratch that one out for the next time. Um, okay.
Base chain. So, first, uh, uh, base chain is led on the engineering side by Henry. So, you can raise your hand there. And Anika, is Anika here? Yeah.
Okay. Uh, yeah, Anika's right here. Okay. So, those are the people to talk to. So for the chain, our goal is to have the fastest, cheapest, most secure, and most valuable block space, and we've made great progress on this.
It is fast today with 200 millisecond flashbox times. It is cheap. Uh I had a hundth of a cent uh gas median transaction cost uh in my in my notes. I think Jesse said today it's actually even half of that. It's secure.
We achieved stage one decentralization, and it's valuable. Thank you to all the builders in this room. We have the best assets, apps, and infra on base. That's the base chain team. Next up, uh Bass Markets.
Uh Zach, if you can raise your hand, Zach, uh is the product lead for our base markets team. So, our goal with markets is to make Bass the onchain liquidity hub. And the first big project that we're doing here, you just heard about this bridge from Salana to Bass. is going to allow people to bring Salana and SPL tokens to base and use them and all the amazing protocols uh on Bass and uh yeah we're really excited to see what you guys build with us. Next we have privacy.
Elena is our product lead for the privacy team and uh our goal on the privacy side is to make onchain privacy the standard and not the exception. Now as some of you guys know a lot of uh privacy work actually depends on sort of a prerequisite of being able to do verifications. So, we've actually started working on the verification piece and Elena and team have built a really great mini app that is not out yet, but you can ask her for a demo. And then we're going quick here. Uh, so this is this is this is the the end of mine and I'll hand it off to Antonio.
So, uh, base account uh, which I lead along with, uh, Eric and I'm not sure if Thomas is here, but oh, Thomas is here as well. We'll get at a table together. So, in order for users to be able to use your app, they need to be able to connect their account. And so the base account SDK lets you connect with over 300,000 uh existing base account users. And uh the base account SDK you can use it like any other wallet SDK.
You can use it in Rainbow Kit or Privy or Dynamic, however you want to, but also has some special superpowers. So we have uh special APIs just for payments and subscriptions. Actually, they're doing another workshop on this right now. Um we have APIs for requesting saved user profile info. So users can build a profile in the the base account in the base app and save their shipping address, save their name, save their email and you as a developer don't have to build all those collection forms from scratch.
You can just use our API to request those. And we have our uh sub accounts which is a way to sort of pair the base account with embedded app accounts and give users seamless inapp experiences. Okay, so that was a speedrun. I'm going to hand it off to Antonio now to run through the next couple. Go ahead.
Um, some of you might be wondering why is the ads guy talking about base builds, which is a good question. Um, Jesse's often told me the biggest ask he gets from builders is how do I grow my app on base? And you can do that through ads. You can do that through organic ways. And so base build is a way to actually grow your app on on base.
Uh, some of you are familiar with some of the components like onchain kit and mini kit to help you get on chain quickly. Um, the other thing we're building which I'll show you in a second is real-time user analytics and a way to get featured in the base app and sign up for pay master credits. Um, and the last thing I'll mention is this thing called flywheel that I'm going to sort of tease out but launch later. Um, this thing called base.dev.
You should all go to it and register on it if you haven't already. Um, it basically gives you out of the box analytics like where are my users coming from? How many users are there? How many did I sign up from TBA? How often did they open my app?
Uh, we're going to open this up to include more things in MiniAP. going to be sort of the global portal for people building on base to get rewards uh like builder rewards that we're going to start distributing the OCS ones but there's going to be another builder reward program announced later and then just distribution organically on base app or through spindle itself. The other thing we're enabling, it's a little bit of a tease, uh, it's called flywheel protocol. And this actually came out of Spindle originally, uh, but Connor, who's probably here somewhere, kind of blew it up to more general thing. And basically what it enables is if X thing happens in the world, preferably on chain, pay Y amount to Z person, right?
In the case of Spindle, Z happens to be a publisher, so it's Bit, Coinbase, wallet, whatever. In the case of a user reward program, it's your own users. Um, in the case of people who build on base, it's paying our builders to build on base. Um, so it's a new it's a novel protocol that we're using all all throughout Coinbase. Um, and some of the use cases are kind of interesting.
So the you guys might have heard about paying with USDC on Shopify. You get 1% back as if it was a credit card. That's paid through Flywheel. Um, the builder reward program that we're going to talk more about later in Q4 is paid through Flywheel. And then lastly, the Spinlad network that Jesse mentioned and pumped a little bit, 8 million reachable addresses, $48 billion in in buying power.
that's also powered through flywheel. Um, and so a lot of things of like something happened on chain, go pay somebody, a lot of those use cases are going to be built on Flywheel and then we're going to open source it I think starting as early as next week. And so we're hoping other people also build on flywheel to distribute rewards.
