and again welcome to this um Community panel we have here four uh Community leaders and founders of their own communities in order is uh Lon from Rome from. it then Andrea from it Bucharest then Mato from spaghet and Anda from Ethan so and the place for these leaders that are here I am myself the co-founder of Napoli that we are all together enjoying today and I just leave them the opportunity to introduce themselves better so we understand um everything connected to their uh Vision their local community and what is the impact that those communities are having on overall on the eth EOS system and on the um local um environment so Lon you want to start yes so hello everyone I'm I'm lemon my real name is Simone that's why Simone Lon that's how they called me when I was 10 years old and I'm a software engineer working in the in the blockchain space for 3 years now and yeah two years ago in Rome we wanted to see see you know in our city uh Community or like group of people interested in these topics to grow and learn from each other and two years later I'd say that we've done so much so many things not only in Rome in Italy and all over the world and I'm so proud of uh of all of it and our main focus is around um educating new developers to to join this space and contribute with their own skills knowledge and and experience hello everyone I'm Andrea I'm the co-founder of e Bucharest uh my background is a bit more random I would say I worked at a corporation and then I I was a police officer for for a bit uh until I found my my place in the web Dre Community um and uh I've been going to a lot of events and volunteering and helping out uh and I met a lot of Romanians so I thought why not have uh an eat event in Romania too so this is uh why we created our event um what else can I say uh also we are focusing on education and on bringing people together because right now there are a lot of people who are working in the space but they all spread around or like maybe left the country uh so we wanted to have a place where to bring everyone together to collaborate and innovate and also meet other people from other communities M um I'm one of the co-founders of spaget my background is in um political sciences and Linguistics but I I dedicated all my life to pursue music and uh from an independent level so meaning no money so there was a good training to understand the value of money and the flows that sometimes is hidden with spaghetti we basically um just started Gathering people um in different places where they are rooted and helping them grow their own thing and now they have become adults they are stronger than us and so what we do right now is trying to first of all harmonize every Community around certain uh timelines Etc and what we're doing this year especially is to create public goods initiatives and try to reach out to conferences Tech conferences who do not have web free um value in terms of speakers Etc so we are proposing them to curate the web free part of the conference the first one will happen in November in um line Che in Milan which is the biggest Music Tech conference the web free part will be curated by spaghetti hello everyone I'm Andrea nice to meet you all um I'm one of the core members of uh eth Milan which is uh a ethereum focused event in Milan that is going to happen in one month by the way actually the community behind it Milan is called webam which is kind of the webam Milanese community and he was born actually thanks to Spaghetti when they organized the the first event in Milan two years ago uh the community itself is also on our end a way to aggregate people working in the industry uh to create a point of connection to create an opportunity for them to engage and grow together then it evolved over time meet up after meet up and we became also a conference so we are organizing e Milan which is uh one of the leading web three conferences in Italy um and that's let's say what we are known from uh internationally also we try to be very open also to on boarding International people into the Italian ecosystem and making them realize there is value in Italy also uh and yeah my background is in business and uh so I'm doing mostly partnership and this kind of stuff but uh super nice to meet you all great so now we know you a little bit better but I want to ask you a question that sometimes I I ask myself and I'm not even able to completely answer that one so let's start with why why you decided to create a community to build it to grow it it's a lot of effort it's a lot of time it's sometimes also painful because you have conflicts with other people so try to dig deeper into your motivation and yeah if you can please help me to answer myself this question so um actually I I don't think we we decided to create a community but we ended up creating one um as as web ur. it was born during the first spaghetti Milan um event in Milan in May 2022 uh just because I'm I'm living in Rome and there were like bunch of other guys from Rome there uh that working in the space for much longer than me actually I was just starting at the time around the time and and so we said yeah let's just exchange contacts and keep in touch in Rome let's hang out for a beer and and get it from there just like you know create a group chat exchange articles ideas new uh trending topics this kind of stuff and and from there this Discord server that we had at the time with five people 10 people uh now today has been growing up uh above like 700 members and uh of course like to get there uh we started organizing meetups uh events traveling together to araton and all of that why uh because we we felt alone in Rome working in this industry not only like working you know like working in the startup industry is already something that in Italy is not so common so it's difficult to find your your peers but I think that especially in web 3 I didn't knew anybody at the time and I I wanted to share this passion and curiosity for for the blockchain space and um was a way for us all to connect and and grow uh and that's also why people are keep are still like you know joining our meetups our araton our a houses everything that we do it's because it's easier to learn something if you're doing it together uh even if you're more experienced or less experienced everybody has always lot to learn from each other so that's that's the mean why we we felt alone and we needed somebody to to be our peer there inspiring stimulating each other so that we we are always looking forward for the next challenge oh yeah so while it is challenging it's also very rewarding to have uh people around you and to collaborate and have communities and I think we also saw this need of uh that people had to belong uh and to have a place where they could share their ideas and collaborate and they didn't didn't really have this uh before uh in Romania for example I mean as I said we had different people working in web three really smart people but all spread around um so now they know they're not alone and they have a place to belong and also this drives Innovation so this was our um motivation but yeah it is very difficult I I don't know what to say more on this part because this is how human interactions are but they're also very rewarding um in in our case we weren up to communities um I was working on remix from the by Foundation at the time and I knew the guys working in the all ecosystem and they told us uh they told me once hey mat we have to introduce you to another Italian and we we need you guys to bootstrap the Italian Community and I was said do I have to and I said yeah okay I'll do it um and then basically this is our met Maria and then Franchesco I don't know if he's here then he joined us for to to help financially with the with the finance overview Etc and basically yeah it started because it came from above the because they knew that were there were many Italians working in like in a very distrib way here and there different protocols Etc but no such thing as um as an Italian scene and nothing it started like that and um it got traction I mean I come from bands music bands where the earning you're always in red you're always invest in mode and you get but there's something driving you to to keep doing it year after year so I think that to me that is the spirit like I I'm in good relationship with we want and um you know those it's family now so I just do it because you're my friends so whatever yeah so let's say on our end I would say that the why shifted a bit over over time as we evolved as a community at the beginning it was kind of the same feeling you guys sh so like feeling alone getting together creating opportunities to connect to talk to to Simply do what we were already doing in Italy distributed all together because e Milan and web Community was founded by people already working in the industry basically full-time but they were just working by themselves in Italy there was not a point to connect together to meet and to do something together then as the community evolved and we started doing more like events workshops and then the conference itself the opportunity obviously gets bigger and you also kind of fit the responsibility to do something good also for the broad ecosystem we think that these conferences are a good opportunity now to also accelerate the Italian web tree ecosystem the Italian crypto ecosystem and if we manage to do great conferences and to bring bring great talent to Italy and to show that Italy is capable of doing what what you know what what these communities are building then this brings Network effects that are positive for the whole crypto ecosystem also for not not single members of the community so now let's say the why shifted a bit to creating an accelerating talent and connecting people through a big conference which is e Milan and then kind of uh touching on this Talent during the year and trying to uh grow more like a niche uh but we feel we have the opportunity to to to Really push Italy uh in in the world as a as a market and as a as an ecosystem so I think that's the most strong why as of now but yeah the idea originally why why we do this on ourselves like like people because we are passionate we're passionate for the industry we work in the industry we want to do something positive we want to see the industry grow and that's the best way to do so so giving back something to to everyone to enjoy I would say yeah I feel myself also starting because of like feeling alone and needing someone uh that was stimulating your your intellect your your sharing your the same patience that you that you had and especially in Napoli it was really hard to find like-minded people but luckily we got to know each other and that's how we started but after that as yeah as Mato said as Andrea said you you start to uh feel like you want to share also W with other people that you know that they might be interested in the same topics in the same passion that you have and yeah it becomes something different it's something bigger something that that also have some impact on the uh society around you so I want to ask if you feel like you have had an impact and what is the value that you feel through your community you are giving back to to the society that's a more difficult question than than the previous one uh um I think I think the first time I realized um the impact that that we had uh after like lot of community work and events that we did was last year at the end of uh of the first edition of it uh our event is is an aaton so it's focused uh on developers we want developers to come in our city from all over the world and and build Cutting Edge uh projects and Technologies and uh I remember 10 days before the event I I was in San Francisco for another event and and when I came back to Rome I didn't want I I was already like almost decided to go back to San Francisco because the the opportunities there were much you know uh much more with respect to Rome Italy and Europe in general you know so especially for software developers uh but luckily after after ITR after seeing and witnessing like uh the araton I changed my mind uh because another thing that I remember is that two or three weeks before the O 20% or 30% of the applicants were Italian all the rest were coming from Europe and all over the word and so I was saying okay why why are we doing this like we are trying to bring uh what we see in the international ecosystem in our city and then people here they they don't get it they don't like it they don't understand it or they they not interested um in the end somehow like talking with universities calling schools and everything we ended up with a nice balance like 45 or 50% of Italian people and uh we've seen among the six winning projects four of them being built by Italian teams so teams composed by Italian only members that were also participating in their first aaton just because of course like you know we travel to aaton all around the world but it's expensive it's also you know you need to be like really maybe extr verse like you need you need to break the barrier uh and in Rome we want to help these people you know just getting a train and and comeing and and these guys they participated in their for Staton they won it so majority of the winners were Italian and so we say okay it's not that Italian people and developers are lacking skills it's just that they are lacking opportunities and uh and we are here to to create it to create them with the with itome With Ur and all the other activities that we we we create and prepare for them to to be ready for this ecosystem you know and and when we when I saw that I changed my mind and I said okay let's we're having an impact so if I can sum it up the value you feel you are providing is is New Opportunities yeah of course like in terms of like education like the the boot camps and the courses that we do uh that are very like developer focused on but not for advanced developers it's just like beginner level uh courses that teach these people how to start building projects in the ecosystem and hopefully in the end working in the ecosystem and so um and I believe that Arcons are among the best way in which you can learn something because you have 40 hours to be focused on a project uh learning a new technology in two hours or three hours because otherwise you don't have much time and so it's the best learning experience of course if you before the Aron has also some pre have also some previous knowledge is is much better but I'm telling you that after like 20 acons that I've been doing around the world I'm always learning something new every time I do and and of course like the more you do the more the learning curve like flattens but in the beginning like your first araton your second araton it's it's it's way up uh and you also get motivated you see the vibe you talk with International people that are maybe building projects that are like seems cool to you because like you never buil anything you see somebody creating something that you are not capable of but you're astonished and so you're motivated in doing more in getting to know them in connecting with them talking with them and uh hopefully I keep going and and that's what we've seen after itro uh many of these haers that attended their first aaton started also traveling with us to other aaton and kept growing in their in their experience some of them are now working in the ecosystem uh some others are like still learning and preparing for it but that's uh that's everything that we are witnessing after like two years of work uh and and and that's why like we we keep doing it because we we feel like if two years ago we had such an an ecosystem to grow would be would have been much easier you know and and so we're doing it all like mostly mostly for for them and other people clear clear let's see Andrea I can actually confirm what he said because there war house in Brussels I wrote my first Sol solidity code so uh their uh side EVS are really convincing I got into coding even though I'm completely non-technical but they got me really excited about it and I wanted to say so our community in R Mania is not as mature as the Italian ones I definitely have really good examples around me right now and I'm really proud to be in a panel with them uh we're still making baby steps now we just had our our first event this year but the idea is uh to focus on education and on developers uh right now we still I think uh what we managed to do was maybe just U scratch the surface and uh make people think that we Tre is less than uh mean coins and scams and um nfts not that nfts are bad or anything but like there's more to to web Tre than that uh so now people are starting to open their eyes more and pay more attention to it in Romania and we're hoping to focus more education from now on on developers than creating new opportunities and on students of course uh which can have better jobs and better opportunities as Theon said um impact is a very big word and it can decline into different uh families of impact I would say that from the community's point of view as spaghetti yeah we we did have impact I mean this is just uh four of us um sorry I already included Romania I just invaded Romania um but we have katania Etna uh who who which happened in um in May um there's a newborn community in Bologna which is very tiny but very very um business driven there's also a new the second edition of it Venice happening in in December so from the community point of view yes this is what we wanted to create to to create local communities that can also address local a local mindset of problems they can interact with the local Administration institution and maybe run more impact impact at social level at you know public administration when you talk about centralized governments is very very monolitic is very very strict but when you decline it to the local public administration usually they have their hands a bit Freer to do certain stuff to so this is always something that I was looking forward to happen uh from from The Wider impact point of view meaning is actually what impacting something yeah okay this is exactly it's just a a long way to but I think just like lemon said I think every aaton that happens is new code that is new open source code that is there so for example I was I was looking for um a project that was submitted last year at Rome and so I could get the reper and could study it a little bit I got in touch with the guy so this is all cool stuff because at least we can fasten up the building ideas because we are in touch with each other so yeah this is what I have to say about impact and then on a personal level I would say that I have an example I I have there's one person that got hired by a banking group because she wrote an article in in the previous number of the zena that newspaper that you have in your in your in your swag bag and apparently this big Bank banking group read the article contacted her and offered a job so give me 5% of that yeah so like I'm pretty much aligned with what's said by the other speakers in general you know impact is a is a complex word but sometimes we joke and we say that our goal is kind of putting Italy on the map of the broader web tree ecosystem and I think we are doing this well uh as a as a broad Community um you know through two three years ago there were no ethereum Focus conference no ethereum Focus communities no International people knowing about the Italian ecosystem was really a lot more Italian Focus there were a few events obviously a few people working in the industry but they were not connecting abroad no one was knowing about what was happening in ital and this in my opinion clearly changed in the last two years with the efforts of all of us together uh e did an incredible job at the developer side of things so bringing developers building cool stuff in it I think that's super super cool uh with e Milan we try to bring you know Founders uh investors Builders to Milan to connect with the Italian ecosystem and to put let's say a conference in there an Italian conference is they in their huge conference uh calendar they have for the year and that's already some impact I would say then obviously to the broad Society that's that's more difficult it's see still a niche industry every year for example on our end we try to build opportunities also for the masses to join this year for example we're going to have a creative Hub so for people from creative Industries to get on boarded uh into into web three in general to be let let's say to have the their work uh rewarded better thanks thanks to this technology and we will keep trying to on board these masses hoping that this will then create a flow of network effects also for people that are not engaged uh but yeah this is like I think when you want to have impact in some you have to start from somewhere uh and then as as you grow as you do more stuff this impa is going to grow and hopefully have a broad impact into society yeah here we proposed ourself as a as a vision to to be kind of a hub for realities that are interested in web three so we didn't uh decide to give a clear cut to our community yet because we want to see how the um local environment reacts to these new opportunities and so by connecting all of those different realities that are interested in the opportunities offered by web tree then we decide how to shape better the the the yeah the Napoles Community this is from our side guys we have mentioned several times institutions and um administrat Pati inevitably when you come and give and offer such a new opportunities to to to yeah to the local environment at some point you have to talk with institution talk to Administration what is your way to do that did you have find any difficulties in interacting with those [Music] pretty I don't know how to define them uh um not flexible realities I just wanted to comment something about the thing you said earli but also it's it really works with what you just you just asked I'm surprised that you you guys managed to have this event in a church like this is just like it was difficult but we did it so it's it's by far the prettiest V I've ever seen but also like I think it really shows that um slowly institutions are becoming more and more open to change and of course to answer your question but we have to interrupt you because this is a private one so we didn't have to interact with institutions we have just to pay for it still I think it sends a really powerful message really like to just like walk into the church and see the ethereum logo on the screen is just like it's uh it's amazing and I'm I'm really impressed uh of course there's always resistance uh to change when it comes especially to institutions and governments and I can talk about also like also having the government background I know how they think and sometimes explaining things to them that like technology and new um things it can be impossible but I think it seems like uh slowly but surely governments get more like Ministries uh get more open to maybe host um education about blockchain in universities uh and accept um events and in get involved like we we've seen politicians attend to speak at um at events but I guess there's also maybe this is a bit of a side topic but like I feel like there's always the risk of their involvement just becoming a a tool for them to promote their own agenda so but just just my thoughts maybe other people can provide a more specific answer to this question yeah so I don't think I can say nice thing about our relationship with institutions in Rome maybe because it's Rome and it's the capital so there's a lot of stuff already happening but um so we are very in touch with the with universities like they um especially lapen Rome um thanks to some contacts that I had from studying there in my bachelor like we are able to uh go every year and uh teach students about like web three topics during uh some master uh in computer science and engineering so there's this professor and this group of Professor that are very keen to this type of initiatives but this is ever ever since I I met them in my bachelor so with universities like we we are we in touch we are also very in touch and collaborating with coding schools which are not institutions but like bigger still bigger corporations and um in particular the l42 school uh that is in above the stat but also all over Europe it's it's a great partner for all these boot camps and courses that we do for developers while for what concerns support from you know local administrations getting a venue for an event we are also uh I don't know if I can say that but many people here know that we are trying to to open a web three up so a space where to co-work and organize events and of course having the support from the region or the city will be great and we we tried talking with them we have this opportunity and uh it's something that I I hope it's going to happen anyways uh but of course if you would have had the their support it would have been like much easier not only like for this initiative of like creating a maybe a permanent space but also talking about it last year itum this year when when when I go and travel to other cities like like Lisbon and I talk with other organizers I see that they are always like very supported by their uh uh their local Administration I remember like Lisbon had the raaton in Prasad commercial which is like the main Square uh and I believe they had it for free uh and so I'm kind of like jealous of seeing these things because we struggled so much to gather all the funding needed to make the event possible for everyone for free uh while if the local Administration would understand what we're trying to do and how it might benefit the city I think it would be like a great Synergy definitely um yeah my take on institutions uh right now is um it's very dark [Music] um right so something that I can say about in institutions that um you they they don't have time to listen to you they don't have skills to listen to you they don't have time they don't have they couldn't bother less to listen to you well they still have to fix like we have two problems remember when we had the national imps which is the basically pension system in Italy so they spent like something like 80 millions millions Euros for the website yes and there was a time I think during Co when the national pension system started giving money for people to sustain but something broke so I would try to log in and I would log in as him so I could access his info Etc and at the same time the CEO of of this public institution raised his pay his payroll uh his sorry his um his pay yearly pay of 15 uh sorry 5 50 50 uh th000 EUR a year so I on the other side I think that is important still to be persistent to give you an example what we are doing next week in Torino as spaghetti together with legal hackers legal hackers is a um International organizations of lawyers dealing with tech so Ai iot blockchain and stuff and they have City chapters so you have Leal leers Paris Leal leers R Torino Milano New York Washington Beijing Etc uh maybe Beijing no I don't know um so what we are running with them next Friday is um debate with the public with the local public administration in tuine discussing uh public administration digital Gap to the current state of technology so for AI there will be the uh local assessor the local board member for AI security cameras Etc and there would be someone talking about a and maybe ZK in order to make this data proof Etc so we are trying to drag them down to their from their needs and say hey we're creating something just for you to join but it still hasn't happened so uh maybe in two weeks I will be no don't do it or maybe has do it I that's the explanation of yeah so my take on institutions it's I don't know like it's obviously complex uh infrastructures and it's difficult to collaborate them for your direct interest like running an event or uh opening an office I think we are still not yet there specifically for these technology oriented let's say opportunities but still I think they are a valuable uh tool to look at uh for support for connection for Network effects me myself I'm still yet to graduate from from University so I'm still part of let's say the the university institution and we as a community at e Milan we also we always try to to create opportunities for students every student will be always uh have free access to our conference and to all of our events for example uh but as lmon said also University is kind of not a very uh structured institution like they're more open to collaboration and to uh different opportunities for for for the students because they have to learn when you talk about institutions more at the high level so uh let's say Majors or regions that's more complex but I can say that on our end we have we have been making some some progress on on that end and this year e Milan is going to be also let's say supported by by the the major of Milan or the let's say the region of Lombardy uh they will come at the event they will have a look uh and they will let's say kind of support us a bit in the uh onboarding of web two people into web three through kind of all the creative up I was slightly mentioning above uh before so it's not that they are co-organizing the event yet unfortunately but still they are getting interested and they're some somehow getting involved our vision is that every year this can can increase improve and let's say maybe one one year we will have a Milan blockchain week like the design week or fashion week let's see that's that's the high level goal but that's a bet let's say so from what you're saying guys I can understand that that with institution is a very uneven situation it depends on where you are the people you talk to you were mentioning that you got inside sapena the connection with sapena because of a friend from your studies right so you never know what answer you'll get when you talk to them so it really depends of on the city like Milan might be more expansive but is a very slow slow machine that moves sometimes yeah like just to some like it was very very complex to get them on board it wasn't easy uh it was a long process last year we didn't succeed with the first version of it Milan this year it was we we got to a point where we can say they they kind of uh are involved but it was a two years process and it's still not where he where it could be uh so it's it's not that is easy but for sure really depends on the location in my opinion and on The View also the the this the single person you talk with uh as because you know this institution I have thousands of people working there and taking decisions you you also have to be lucky to talk with the right one at the right moment let's say so it's very difficult for sure true so building communities has some obstacles and communities are built from people and sometimes these people have to take decisions tough decisions so I want to ask you guys how do you um how it works the decision making process inside your communities with your Founders or if there is also some other members involved in your decision making process how would you say it work oh yeah sure uh yeah so normally um it starts from Consulting the team we have the founders and the extended team but then we also have some active members in the community which we ask for opinions and we also take a lot of examples from other successful communities that already have in place let's say like boot camps or certain initiatives um so yeah I would say it's a mix of um taking the examples that we see around us that that were successful and Consulting what the the community is uh thinking and we're trying to make make everyone happy like that um in our case has always been like a a bottom up community so we have this nonprofit Association now actually like created one year ago as a like a formal way to to organize and and manage funds but in general like the community has always had a bottom up approach with a core team of people and not not because like they take decision just because they are the more proactive ones that propose initiatives executes them then there's a group of uh Associates in this case that are more active members that maybe don't don't always get uh actively participating in all the activities but they are part of the discussions and try to uh vote on something with respect to to to other things so uh in our community and and Association right now I I see like three uh layers one it's it's made by the coure team which is formed by maybe five 10 people according to the moments because of course we we all have our full-time job um and and we are the one since the beginning uh maybe somebody jumping off somebody jumping in that are proactively proposing new initiatives and executing them then there's this other layer constituted by 30 people uh that are participating in discussion voting in uh spending the funds to Oran this event or um getting the the match I don't know printed with a specific color like from most important decision also to to most like simple one let's say and then that's also like the brother community that I was mentioning earlier like we have this Discord with uh uh around like 700 members that engage with the community and if some of them are willing to to be more active and maybe they come uh always or often to to the meetups at the end like they they join the association and they start um growing their reputation inside it and so maybe Gathering influence or starting to propose things so that that's the way it's very it's not decentralized in a way that we use like blockchain votes or smart contracts to distribute funds whatever but is a decentralized decision- making process as U everybody can propose something everybody can vote and then of course like if somebody propose initiative is more likely that is also pursuing that actively if somebody wants to jump in they jump in to help otherwise they they can jump in on on the next one so that that's how we we handle it um on other side um decision making is is still bottom up meaning that it's um people from Venice coming to us saying hey we do we want we want to run e in Venice yeah tell us about it like if they convince us they we help them bootstrap whatever they do and um it's been like that uh forever uh as spaghetti the ctin is very small and very agile let's say it's just me Maria and Francesco decisions are are decided by combat last person standing and um no usually usually if you be like if it's like if if you're a band and everyone has a song you propose it and everyone say okay you decide the course of of this song and we will help you with the arrangements and everything so if the idea is good then we follow this person Vision um in the future we are right now we're also an association for obvious um accounting reason um in the future we would be very very happy to decentralize whatever we do at at least at a city chapter level so that the decisions to run certain Community projects or public goods is more Collective and uh even if you know you said well that centralization works some way better because you you just keep a lot of noise um but you can be like semi- decentralized you can still have like token gated um with tears and incentives for people who know each other who already worked with each other so not just ANS who interact with each other but like us I think this is the step that we would like to pursue in the next two years slowly also to become more of a public thing together and um sustaining still the small small reality yeah so to reconnect a bit to the to the original question you know decision making is never it's never easy you know for the eth Milan team we are like five to six member that actively work uh basically every day to the the opportunities we are we are creating the past few months the focus has been 100% on the conference itself so on E Milan during the year maybe um a workshop me we may want to run an event or just on how to align let's say the um our ideas uh what we want to do with with the opportunity we have and also what the people that are part of our community then that come to our events come to our conference speak at our con want to see so there is always this kind of um I would say our approach is a bit more top down than what discussed by by the other people uh at the end of the day we we still don't have the capability to kind of decentralize the the decision so at the end the final decis maker it's us if we want to do something we we do it if we don't want to do something we don't do it so but yet if we do something just for our no one will come and no one will care so there is obviously a big influence from from from the the market the people our partners also spaghetti supports Us in something we get feedback from them you know it's it's a process if I have to sayate it more internally so kind of what the core team how we decide things I think we have a very very friendly environment we all work our full-time jobs uh besides the the community Aton say so it's not we want to fight for something internally we try to do our best sometimes there is discussions you have to align on things but I think that's that's the nice thing of the process also it's impossible to have the same idea the same process the same idea and just go go through it there is a bit back and forth but I think it's it's it's it's okay and at the end of the day I'm it all worked pretty smoothly until now so I hope he's going to keep keep doing that good good good one question will be about the future so how do you guys see your communities let's say not that far into the future but in five years what will which direction they will take how will they [Music] evolve and what will be your role at that time in those communities um I I guess for this question I would like to answer um on behalf of myself and not on bues because I'm thinking that like the more I I see the community the web Community I feel like we should rather aim for a a global Community rather than um uh separate groups and I think we will like how many people in this room actually live in the place that they were born in can you raise your hands more live in the city that they were born in yeah not even half um so it looks like in the future maybe we will have more Global communities and uh those hubs of course in which people can gather from around the world um and meet with people um so yeah this is what I see in the future uh having a global web tree community in which we all collaborate because uh we already have good examples like uh I can give the example of us eum event organizers we are all collaborating with each other so there's I wouldn't say I've seen competition that much we're all uh we also have like groups with all of us in Europe where we give us give each other advice and we support each other and and we uh suggest speakers we connect the other uh event organizers with sponsors so it already looks like um it's going to be Global in my opinion and I hope that's that's what's going to happen yeah I'd say like Global uh as well because I think it's important to have like International influences so definitely like in five years from now i' I'd love Rome to be more uh digital Nomads friendly um giving them a space or an ecosystem where they can uh work on their project and grow it maybe we can help them accelerating it um if like hopefully like in these five years we we are able to uh get more experience ourself launch some startups ourselves and at some point hopefully helping other people in our cities but not only because again like I'd love to to still see like the global Community traveling frequently to to Rome uh and and out uh and and just you know keep building giving feedbacks and insights to each other so I I Envision that so right now we are let's say we started with meetups to aggregate people and and we created this core Community now we are leading more towards education so okay we we're known we have the skills and we can teach other people how to to build and grow in the ecosystem and in five years I want to see the results of all these new people that we on board coming up to life and and hopefully having their home base in Rome their headquarter even if it's you know an Emeral one that they can travel and go and and let's say but I want to see like that these people that we we educate then can either start working in web three for another company or hopefully like start their own one and and we can support them fter along their Journey so the next step is building and launching startups let's say and yourself and your role in this new evolved Community what sorry yeah yourself and your role how do you see yourself in the description hopefully like advising this people um of course I want I want to build like stuff on my own before I I can start advising others um so maybe I can do both I can do only advising I don't know I don't feel like I can advise right now and I prefer like enjoy more building stuff but at some point maybe I get bored of it and and I maybe I can spend more time helping others you know in in the journey as as a billionaire let's [Laughter] hope um in five years time I guess uh spaghetti will be a wedding planner event way more money way less stress and everyone's happy because everyone gets drunk so bom talking the r and that's it now seriously um so some I can share with you some because we are in a church and church religion is all about Utopias so maybe I can share with you Utopia that we were talking Among Us um maybe last year it was very late at night there was some some a lot of wine involved but we were thinking about becoming a bit more political uh not in term of taking a side in the political Spectrum but mostly allowing um to become a sort of uh Tech toolkit for public administrations to learn certain things of course the ecosystem has to evolve the technology has to evolve the ux has to evolve but uh because we we can relate to Italy's territorial problems we can maybe come up and offer Solutions at local level and maybe in time also the the voting system will change so we will vote for your party but then okay but I want this to be run by and maybe it's not just spaghetti there will be other plugins political plugins that people can attach to the local party I don't I I trust I trust them because I trust their political view but I don't trust the way they handle money like in Italy it's like that you you philosophically into a certain political Spectrum but you have to acknowledge that historically the were money mismanagement if not worst so this could be an interesting scenario we might start working in in that direction to be a bit more political but it's five years time many things can happen in the meantime of course yeah my honest answer to the question is that uh I have no idea personally like uh two years ago I was still at University I was uh 21 and I joined this community as a member I'm actually not a founder of of the community I joined as a member I started hanging out with the with the with the people that were there having fun understanding more about this technology and then I became a core member and now I'm contributing super actively to the organization and to the to the running of this community but it all happened super quickly and it was only two years you know so it's very difficult to predict where me as a person I'm going to be in five years and also where the community is going to be but if I have to talk about let's say goals and Visions uh I like to kind of do a bit the example of ethereum France you know they created it CC 8 years ago uh very small event boost trapped Community run and now I think thanks to that event uh Paris France it became a crypto Hub that is very very big everyone is going there every year everyone must go there every year if they want to be in this industry uh I'm not a huge fan on how they run the conference as of now but still what they did was incredible in my opinion and uh they basically created an ecosystem or started the uh the spark for then creating an ecosystem and companies investing in their in their Market thanks to a community event so that would be let's say the the long-term Vision I I think Milan as the uh as the set of things a city needs to be a a web three crypto Hub me biography is still a bit complex but I think the network is there opportunity is there event hopefully is there if we keep organizing that so I really think that Milan can grow as a to have ecosystem and we want to drive this growth we want to enable this growth and as Limon said maybe one day accelerate projects ourself give them a a space where to grow help them raise Investments help them go to market with our network with the whole community so I think this is possible and this is what going to bring is going to bring us let's say to phase two uh moving from a community to a real accelerator of of opportunities let's say so that's that would be the BR Vision but I don't know to be honest what is going to happen I just I just want to add something uh regarding the he mentioned Brussels um I think that very soon institutions are going to be more open uh to accepting the web pre space because I feel like they won't be able to ignore us anymore like you were walking in Brussels and it was literally a web three City all the accommodations were like booked by people that were going to the event where where you were like you were going to a restaurant there were people that in web Tre there walking on the street you would hear something about web Tre so like it's already uh and like right now you're taking the plane and you meet like three other friends from your city that are also going to the same events it's just amazing so like if it's evolving in this uh um way I think they're not going to be able to ignore us anymore I really love your vision guys I hope it becomes true and yeah more glob um more opportunities um Andrea said said that basically you don't know where you will be in fire years but you hope as well that the community grows and flourishes so at this point I will open the conversation also to the audience so if any of you has questions for our leader Community leaders you're welcome to ask hello everyone I'm Ricardo I'm the founder of spat crypto.com I have a question for you have you ever fought to create a a big event all together in Italy in a certain place in Italy are you asking if we were planning to run one event to R them all yeah one big one uh that could be an idea would yeah why not but there are so so many pretty things to see in Italy I don't know like maybe a tour to Italy or something I mean in my opinion Italy is the best budget community in Europe so I don't know like I guess you would want to see everything really like just maybe maybe they they can coordinate and have all the events one after the other Vatican in the Vatican it's Vatican yes thank you do you call them that's that would be actually interesting no I think that um just no to answer seriously to your question I think that when it comes to Italy we have to leverage on the fact that we are our diversity is very enriching but it's also colliding most of the times like we are competitive by Nature like we were the the the the most successful time of our history wasn't when we were unified but it was in the Renaissance where every city was basically running their own competition staff and they were exchanging basically philosophers Architects and all sorts of scientists Etc and uh that's where a lot of new innovation in finance started like double ledgers Etc happen in that period especially actually I think in bolog so bologna was the city where they actually said okay but if I War you something when you go to the Vatican you need another ledger so they would find a way to communicate to the other Ledger that this person owes this much Etc so um uh one event in Italy will be tricky because the some people will be left over because it's not happening there somewhere else but I personally I could say that maybe a retreat uh is something that we would personally I would like to have like to I think digitalia is something that zalu I mean the concept of zalu and Village and digitalia is a bootstrap of that idea to go in a sort of neutral place which is the countryside and um just to work together without the hustle of having live um recordings panels Stuff Etc just to work on proposals and that can work yeah in um sort of neutral areas like Retreats Etc it could be nice I would love to have one in the mountains maybe sometime soon with everyone during winter yes may not I I agree on on diversity something that I wanted to add is around also the effort it might take to to coordinate all all these people and communities I think it so as I mentioned like for me but also Andrea as he told but I believe also mat and and and Andrea it's it's not a full-time job in organizing these events even the big ones it's a long effort that we started one year ago at this point cuz we we are approaching all of them and it's already a huge effort for us to coordinate internally and making it happen and as Matel was saying sometimes like centralization in this sense like helps because if we decide to organize something all together not only we need to coordinate internally and try to to mix all the different like decision making processes that we have and are already working for us uh but also coordinating with with the others you know and it's an additional effort that uh I think with uh a less than a parttime effort it's uh it it becomes even more more crazy more crazy to do uh but I agree on the on the like retreat or like zalu Village approach I think that that's the best opportunity to gather all the Italian communities in in one place he having local events right what I mean meanwhile still having loal EV of course of course I mean like on top of everything that we have already that we have already like been seeing in the past in the past year past years at this point uh having something having a zalo village uh like the one that was in Georgia or Montenegro I think in Italy it's beautiful country right I think it's a good opportunity to gather every every Community but also other people from all over the world I can't even imagine having all a room of full of event organizers maybe in the colosio and like I think we're over time right I just wanted to say something um a big shout out to Rafael and the uh all the Napoli team for uh putting this together it's amazing guys and I'm impressed by work thank you very
