e [Music] [Applause] hello everyone my name is Joseph oer and I'm a backend developer my name is and I'm a full software developer my name is Prince I'm a front end developer my name is Al you can call me Leo um I'm a computer scientist specialized in machine learning and Backer I'm I'm a full developer my my name is I am a front end developer my name is ABD Salam Bara I'm a front end web developer why I'm here to become a web three developer um being a developer you don't feel comfortable in your comfort zone or wherever you are or whatever you know you tend to like Advance no more improve especially in learning different Technologies there web three ecosystem offers benefits such as decentralization and security and I believe that these are the key ingredients to solving one of the biggest problems in Africa and I want to be part of the team that will make it possible I like to explore so I don't like to build on surface of things and from what we all know about the web space or the ecosystem it has come to change the web how we see the web and centralization basically so everything is now trans experience and bu Trust on the internet which is something that I think everybody has been looking for before so I want to also be part of the ecosystem my curiosity brought me here for some years now I've been hearing about smart contracts blockchain centralized ledgers and all that so and it's been a little bit confusing on what it is and all that so I decided to take this adventure to learn more let's take few seconds thank our web three Bridge World 12 sponsor leaks now back to our video I attended anra with three conference and I got exposed to the whole concept of web 3 ecosystem and I remember that few weeks after the conference I had to call the organizer of the event and I asked him this question what are the baby steps that I could take to becoming a web3 developer and his answer was web3 Bridge he already knew about web 3 bridge and how the whole process went and luckily um he made some research and he told me that web3 bridge was still accepting applications and they were going to close off and so he put me through the whole process and he gave me good reviews he said it has to be with three bridge and I told him how is the program like he said there's there's opportunity to come on site and also do online and I think at then I made my decision to come on site cuz I wanted the full experience I I got to know about with three Bridge to a friend I heard about we Bridge from a friend I got to hear about we Bridge from a friend I heard um we bridge to my friend so I heard about web3 Bridge through communities web communities this partnership then web3 Africa partnered with web3 bridge and that was what prompted me to apply from what I heard and what I'm seeing is the best I've seen people from 3 what what they are doing and I I tend to like go with the best I've seen the the impact it has had in lives of people everyone is talking about it it's like the face of web 3 web 3 School in Nigeria it was an amazing experience but uh I had to go through a lot especially um trying to build the time frame building a particular project within um a couple of hours and also the interview there were so many thoughtful questions asked and it demanded a lot of um reasoning to to reply okay during the application period it wasn't funny though it was very simple and straightforward but on the day of the um test it was like I'm on a hot seat like the time is moving very fast I didn't even know what I was doing because I was so anxious will I get into this will I be able to finish this TX on time but look I'm old I'm here I was not expecting like us I was not expecting the coding like I thought it only coding tast I don't expect interview fees because during that time there was totally shut down my um streets in Legos so there was no light not have to run go to supermarket I there Conant light for him to just do the interview H was saying to so everybody was why I just have to do this because sometimes opport comes anybody the application process was quite seamless and I'll say um a big shout out to the support team cuz I had a lot of concerns about oh I will not be arriving early and the it was the first response to my concerns and everything shout out to the web three support team they really really did a good job I wouldn't call them sacrifice but I kind of dropped a few of the product I was working on and then dropped a few um jobs a few gigs because I fan so I had to decline a few of them it's good to ear money right so the first thing I would say is my job so I had to put my job for web three bridge now that's a serious question I got married on the 13th of January and as at the 15th of January I was here on ti so I sacrificed my honeymoon I would say I I I forsook my family I I I had to leave my my comfortable bed at home yeah I had to I had to leave being comfy at home kind of my expectation is very large because I came here let me say I came here as a nobody and I want to leave here as a somebody let me use this word I want to be smarter than my smart contract like I want to know what I'm actually doing on reward projects and um decentralized applications to master um solidity for the next 16 weeks of my life I I expect it to be life changing I also expect it to be mindboggling because um so many things are going to be coming it might be it might not be pleasant to me at the moment but I know it's for the best I look forward to um emphasis on the coming uh a very good smart contract developer also I look forward to the um collaboration between other Court members building and developing Solutions and I also looking I also look forward to ging insights from mentors H I expect to be much better than I came here um I expect to connect with um lots of my peers I expect mindblowing transformation in my developer
