june 2021 we converted east denver which was really a centralized event org to adao and if you know anything about event orging which i know a little bit about they are sucky when it comes to like roi why well you spend millions of dollars on food and swag and free admission and all this and then you hear about really big projects that happen and you don't get anything in return for that so one of the things that we designed with the sport the sparked out model was a mechanism of value accrual it's called buff corn ventures so sporky is our coordination mechanism he loves you a little alpha next year's the year the spork so get ready for that so danny is on our board of stewards and we've discussed long and hard about how do we solve the problem of one value accrual for our community so everybody who shows up so every stakeholder at sport gal whether you're an attendee a speaker a sponsor any you know volunteer crew person it doesn't matter you're a stakeholder in the community we allocate spork as a mechanism of aligned incentives so one of the things that happens in the startup community is difficulty around deal flow so communities don't get early alpha access to like really cool projects so we do so what we've done is incentivized investors and our community partners of capital providers to collaborate around building value for the larger community so the three communities that we have the metadows i've talked about this a lot we've got eat denver the event that's where we are we've got colorado jam which is the partnership with governor poulos office in the state and then we've got this third entity called buffalo corn ventures everybody knows that we're the world's largest event i'm going to just kind of skip that we've talked about colorado jam and here we are the early alpha okay so danny we've had some pretty cool projects come out of eat denver yeah so if you guys didn't catch john's little mention earlier you are all members of our dao you are all part of sport dao so just by being part of this event by being an attendee by being a contributor by being a sponsor by being a speaker you receive a spork allocation you should check our website and claim your spork allocation that spork makes you a part of uh sporkdow in the denver community and buffalo corn ventures so not many people know this if you are if you are a newbie to our event and we have grown so much i think this event is at least five or six times the size of the last one and each year is exponential growth yeah 6x exactly but there's so many incredible projects in the blockchain and the ethereum ecosystem that had come out of east denver so projects like poap and you know together pooled together and i think one inch was a finalist in 2019. um we've seen the likes of you know doing analytics and many many others come through the stages and the hack i thought at 8th denver and the reality is that how do we make this sustainable for for the community and so buffalo corn ventures is going to be doing just that it's a community investment dao it's getting the community early alpha it also means that it creates a sustainable model for east denver to to continue over time so that means that you know east denver and buffalo ventures is going to support entrepreneurs from the very beginning you come here you hack you have great ideas then come to us and pitch to us and we have a series of lps and backers who are part of this who are going to then fund these early projects help them go to the next stage help them lift off and for the ones that become wildly successful all of that actually comes back into the community which means that you're effectively you know by being a member of sportdown by participating here you're effectively getting part of the future returns of your fellow hackers and your fellow participants and that you know success is something that is um coming from a place of abundance for everyone for the community and it's also funding future entrepreneurs so that others may have that opportunity just like you did to start up to build a successful startup to contribute to the future success of ethereum blockchain web3 uh and to hopefully follow you you know follow your footsteps and join us here at east denver yeah one of the things that we think is really interesting so i've i've seen 800 projects in five years and we check in sometimes and we watch like what happens and we see a lot of projects kind of go away that we thought were really cool we see other projects run out of capital and we see other projects do really well but we just thought well wait you know aren't we more than just an event i mean could we provide more than that so there's two goals to buffalo corn ventures and that's the first is any project that we invest in the goal is to put these people working in web 3 full time for at least one year we have we have community partners other capital funds that are going to come alongside this to make this happen this is a big effort by the way and the second thing is we well think about this okay so we have the top minds and luminaries and crypto here we have founders of nine layer one protocols here evm compatible vitaliks here guess what everybody's a sport holder so as an alignment mechanism when the community makes an investment everybody who holds sport cares about that so it's really cool to see sort of positive some dynamics happen in real life it's not just we don't talk about it we're actually doing it it's gonna be really freaking cool so our goal from a philosophy standpoint is first money in post hackathon green we don't care founder friendly terms we're just gonna get you working in web 3 full time and provide the resources support technology partners and innovation opportunities so that you can actually be successful now we have a little bit of opportunity so this isn't just to be clear this isn't a solicitation of capital from the general community there are some limitations for compliance reasons on how you can contribute actual capital tomorrow at 2 p.m at 11 34 in the buffalo adventures lounge there will be a fun the dow party what does that mean well our partners at near and harmony and scale and mattis and many other projects will be funding the dow to prepare to make our first investments now when are we going to do that we're going to do it on sunday we have probably 400 projects that we're expecting based on what we've seen we have about 3 000 3500 hackers that are here we've created too much distractions so i'm only going to guess 400 projects but um we're going to actually make our first investments very very soon so there's two ways to contact us this is my email address if you want to get involved but
