Our Students Share Insight to What Consensus Mechanism is on Blockchain

Web3BridgeWed, Oct 9, 2024, 12:00 AM

In this engaging video, our students provide a comprehensive overview of consensus mechanisms in blockchain technology. Consensus mechanisms are the backbone of decentralized networks, ensuring trust and security in transactions. Our students break down this complex topic with clear explanations and real-world examples, making it accessible to viewers of all levels of expertise. Whether you're new to blockchain or seeking to deepen your understanding, this video offers valuable insights into the inner workings of decentralized systems. Join us as we explore the importance of consensus mechanisms and their role in shaping the future of technology.

[Music] good everyone Welcome to our YouTube channel my name is Emmanuel chukum my name is and I at so we are the validators and we here to talk about cons we understand that consensus mechanism is a key it is the bedrock in blockchain generally and then which that before we talk about consensus mechanism we need to understand some key words like the consensus what is consensus generally it's all about agreement a group of a group of people coming together to agree about the particular thing so then which lead us to which lead us to understand what cons really mean in thean blockchain or the blockchain system generally because it is one of the key thing which they adopted then so we understand that processess generally in blockchain is all about a group of coming together to agree on the particular go it could be different type of disagreement among all of them because generally it is a decentralized application but then which does to why we now have the word consensus mechanism consensus Mech all generally the method in which they achieve that agreement so now we'll be talking about different types of consensus mechanisms now we have different types of consensus mechanism which makes the not comes into arent we have the work we have the pro of State we have the um B practical basting um for tolerance also I'll be explaining what Pro is pro is a mechanism where miners comes together to solve a complex mathematic problem so that so as to validate a transaction in this case this process is known as what mining like mining process of solving a complex mathematical problem en able to add a block to the Block Chain and the RO for mining is pro of St is actually a consensus mechanism that advances the pro of work in Pro of work miners we have miners who solve complex mathematical problem order for blocks to be added but in Pro of STI now um miners have now not longer miners they are called validators and validators have to show that they have something at stake should in case they act maliciously so inove of work the time duration is based on how long it took to the problem for improve of St now each tax is broken into 12 seconds called slot and we have a combination of 12 giv us an Epoch and there are um okay each checkpoint is 32 Epoch okay good so um who is a validator you ask in Pro of state A validator is someone who has put down 32 e and so that he will be able to validate transaction so when you stick your 32 it you run three clients on your system you run the extion client the consens client and the validation client these three clients are what makes it possible from when the user signs a transaction and brast on the blockchain to its finality is when a block passes two checkpoint and so um proof of stake hence gives makes it hard for security breaches because in order for you to take over the blockchain you need to you need to have more than 51% of it and you have 51% of the blockchain it's like you taking 32 HS in 51% of the time hence proof of Ste is more efficient and has greater security than the rest consens mechanism that's why block of CH uses it today so thank you very much see you next please [Music] subscribe
