[Music] good morning everybody my name is cark one of the co-founders of eth global and welcome to pragma now this is one of our conferences and this is a special edition of pragma that's going to be two days instead of one pragma is an event by E Global and those of you whove been to any of our events before were known for doing two things hackathons and Summits today is going to be our day one of our Summit talking about all things web 3 and all of this thing is to help lead up to all the things that you can be excited about for the hackathon every solidia developer knows that a smart contract starts with the word pragma it's not just the beginning of a developers Journey for us this whole event and this ecosystem is a call toward pragmatism the goal here for this whole conference is to focus on a few things our primary agenda is to make web3 more accessible to a much much much wider audience and that means everybody in this room today is not just a developer it's anybody who's curious about what's happening in our ecosystem for them to either stay interested or come in or try things out what makes these specifically events different is our focus is on communicating what's going on so that you can get the filtered version of what people are excited about in this space everything today and tomorrow is going to be single track that means any talk any interview anything that happens today will be in this room there are no multiple stages you don't have to choose between certain things it's curated everything happens here if you want to know what's going on you show up to this Auditorium the whole goal for this event is for you to learn from and hear from people who are actually making these decisions so every speaker here is an executive whether it's a co-founder CEO or the person in charge of that change and anything they're going to talk about whether it's a feature of their company or a protocol or even a engineering decision that got us to where we are in this space the focus of every talk is the future and that means we're going reflection on the past but the goal for us is to tell you about what to look forward to and how you can think about how the world will look like in 6 to 12 months and last we're going to keep this as non-technical as possible which means out of everything you're going to see today and tomorrow there may be 10% of things that would require a lot more context on either specific terms or how something works behind the scenes or under the hood or any specific technicalities especially when we do stuff around CK but you don't you don't need to worry about knowing anything beforehand and you can just understand everything that's going to go on and keep up with what that topic covers and what people are excited about now a few more things it's going to be a lot of content over the next 48 hours we have 25 talks and we're going to do five one-on-one interviews with some decision makers who are going to be sharing some new things about the future of their protocols it's going to be a lot of things going to be thrown at you but don't worry we have enough breaks in the middle and the speakers are going to hang out here after so you can still talk to them after their talk ends and we're going to make sure that you get to do all these things in burst so every two hours you will see a break and you get to talk to everybody who was on stage and around each of you speaking of that let's cover a couple more things everything I'm going to say is also very handily available to you on the postcard that you received when you checked in if you flip on the other side of this postcard you'll see all the talks and the agenda for all of two days of pragma and everything can also be looked up on our website which is also the source of Truth so if you can just go to E global.com pragma you can see what talks are when when there are breaks when there's lunch when is the happy hour when you can network with everybody all that is up on the website there's 380 people here from 34 different countries it's awesome to see so many people come in to not just hack but also learn and catch up with everything that's happening in the Bay Area so I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of you and I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of you who coming or coming to our very first inperson event I've known a lot of you online so if you have talked to me before come say hi and want to want to definitely chat we have 11 incredible Partners as well they're going to be here on U on the hallway across from this Auditorium they're here to talk about what they're excited about you're going to see some of them also come here and tell you about what they're about to work on and what interest what's interesting to them so uh I want to thank all of them here and please join me just thanking all of our 11 Partners I want to give a massive shout out to ZK sync layer zero flow piip Avil near story nosis chain last morph and powerloom please give them a big round of applause I'm going to briefly cover what the agenda for today looks like and we'll jump right into our very first talk but before that I want to give a special shout out and a thank you to everybody who bought the San Francisco pack we're trying these new things as of uh 6 months ago and we're seeing a lot more experimentation on on our end and about 40% of everybody here actually bought the pack instead of just the ticket which was awesome because we got to see so many cool things and we got so much feedback so thank you for for uh getting the pack playing with it redeeming all the perks the goal here for us to do packs is to blend in offchain and onchain experiences so whether it's some credits for traveling here to exploring the city to just seeing cool things on chain to just redeeming access to other events we want to make that more and more accessible and for those of you who are getting into web for the first time we really hope that you found that experience smooth enough so you get to see what's actually possible in a permissionless ecosystem it's a new primitive it's actually extensible which means anybody here can just add support for giving access to anything as long as you know what the address for the pack is and explore and make things a lot more extensible for everybody else so if you have any feedback for us please uh come up and uh share that with me and to kind of understand how you found that experience but uh with that I will go into some other things and that is this wristband so we're also trying a lot more things to be more seamless and integrated and being onchain for all of our events and you all have this wristband the cool thing about this wristband is that this wristband has a special chip which can let you sign ethereum transactions directly from the band itself so every RIS band is an ethereum wallet which means you can technically or you actually can send money to everybody if you want but for the purpose of this event what we've done is we've configured this with everybody's own profile for this event so if you scan anybody in this room you'll be able to connect with them see who you met here and depending on what they want to share with you they can share their email address Twitter telegram Discord or any other ways of what they prefer communicating and uh this applies to everybody including our speaker so if you want to meet anybody if you want to get someone's contact information quickly you just have to put your phone next to the band and the NFC chip will do everything for you and this also works for the hackathon so those of you who are going to be hacking the same wristband actually will carry over so don't take this off until Friday that's another thing they're also waterproof don't worry and uh this wristband will let you access all the events that are happening this week with Heat global and any of our partners for the pack so give that a shot I've said all these things already and I'll move on and let's get into the agenda for today today is day one 15 talks happening today 15 tomorrow and to give a peek our first talk of the day is going to be Yan talking about how do we use AI to secure apps and make security a priority with everything that's happening in our space especially in the baray area then our second talk will be Chris from plume telling you about what he believes will happen to rwas these are real world assets this should be a fun one as you can guess from the title after this we'll be roham telling you about what daol laabs is excited about and how they see the future of consumer applications and where crypto comes in Elena will then cover all the advancements happening in privacy preserving Technologies and how you can actually have a privacy preserving pool on the evm and the guarantees you get from it then orus from T1 is going to tell you about how do we think about fragmentation that we're seeing with rollups in in our ecosystem and how do we get to unify that and what trusted execution environments can simplify when you think about rollups and security then yev is going to talk about demo demo is a dpin amazing Hardware that lets you understand what's happening with your car so we're going to talk about programmable transportation and the possibilities around this with the data that you get access to we're going to take a quick lunch break we're going to resume with giant and Giant's going to talk about how do we actually make D5 more accessible to traditional finance and what's stopping us with all the limitations that we see whether it's on the contract side or latency side and a bunch of other things about the actual data then Andrew from last will tell you about how we can think about yield in this space we've seen a lot of variations and updates on what's going on with yields so that gets you a good Peak I'm here from zerox will tell you about all the infrastructure work they've done to aggregate everything happening on chain to make all types of defi trades easier and simpler and there's a lot of work that goes into simplifying this whole and unifying this experience so you'll get to see how zerox matcha does this Daniel from roock is going to talk about how Bitcoin l2s and Bitcoin evm Integrations are going and how we actually get to learn from and leverage a much higher security and just play with what's possible with the Bitcoin equ system system then Denise will talk about how web3 is becoming more and more accessible with Vora which is a mobile payments app I'm going to take a quick break again a low kick from Circle will tell you about programmable wallets and what circle is doing to make US dollars a lot more programmable then Hilmar is going to share his version of if you should go and build your own rollup and if so what are the challenges you're going to face as you consider scaling up and de things to multiple rollups and one of our technical talks here is going to be how fully homomorphic encryption works and how you can think about guaranteeing fhe on evm contracts and the things that you get to play with and things that are not immutable and how we actually can make cryptography and privacy a lot more option or more guaranteed on evm and as we see a lot more activity on rollups our last Talk of the day is going to be how do we think about general purpose Roll-Ups versus application specific Roll-Ups what are the trade-offs how you can think about them and what's possible and what's not possible as you think about choosing between the two so that's the agenda for today everything is also on the website on E global.com pragma [Music]
