[Music] hello everyone welcome back to another video this is Team Alpha that my name is Marie and I'm with my teammates hi I'm Timothy and I'm David so today we going to talk about solity as I always say was another amazing experience here as with 3 we had 10 plus hours learning about Sol was it was great so um basically solidity is the programming language that we use to write smart contracts on the ethereum blockchain not just on The Ether but on most evm compatible blockchains basically we are developers um write smart contract using solid those smart contracts gets crunched down compiled down to bite code and that bite code is what the evm understands and the ethereum blockchain understand so basically solidity is kind of like our way of communicating with the blockchain building our smart contracts um building our adaps and everything that involves development that we do so just like any other language solidity has data fpes there are different types of data fting some are the some that are found in other languages and some that are unique So Sol have integers arrays inarm stru strings and other other data types like addresses addresses is unique to Sol because you use addresses to transact uniquely identify things on the the blockchain how ites work is different from how they work in other languages true this is a sta type language you have to declare this is a in this is a in so they unsigned and sign is just signed means they can take a negative value and sign they cannot take negative value so when you declare integers and Sol you have to specify the the lit that will help to save on storage because as we know storage is very expensive so when the clearance things as well you have to specify if is if it St in the memory or storage depending on the scope of your contract or your variable or your function so you have to specify that kind of thing in solity there are three types of variables yeah the the global variable the state variable and the local variables yeah the global variables are made by solidity they provided by solidity to tell you about details of the block of the blockchain yeah and execution operations why the state variables are stalled on the blockchain available you want to store on the blockchain yeah they are stored in the contract they are written in the contract and testable by all the functions yeah and the local variables are stored only inside the f and only r on memory so they are discarded after on the St we will keep you all updated until next time stream bye
