[Music] hi everyone I'm Leona from plasma next I've been researching the scalability of plasma and scalability of eum for many years especially since 2018 I participated in the Plasma Research group Plasma Research Community yeah it was really good day for me while doing this research lifestyle I went to many countries including Al Salvador Nigeria turkey and Argentina the first talk I had in Argentina was about crypto it was with taxi driver from the airport to my hotel she says she sent her crypto to her family uh for the savings another taxi driver about saying same thing in Nigeria people want to earn and same money in crypto not in fat basically Nigerian people are English native so they can get a lot of job online unlike in their country and yeah they can earn and sa money with crypto so in some countries there significant adoption of crypto unlike in developed countries unfortunately this is a story about crypto not about ethereum people are not using ethereum even layer TOS for that use for these use cases people using more Cent are blockchains yeah like drone or something like that and why is that why is that simply because of one reason yeah Lup lups are great rollups are totally great for scaring defi but it's not cut out for these use cases for million billion level Mass adaption so we need plasma for that today I want to introduce you guys and announce the plasma next which is the complete version of plasma and this is actually this is the first completely stess asset system in crypto history so do you guys remember plasma plasma was the biggest and hottest Topic in 2018s in Ser Community literally almost all people are talking about plasma how to scare res serum and how to complete plasma but after that plasma seemed to be fail in actually the plasma NEX can avoid all of these problems plasma next doesn't hover any problem uh of online requirement so that's why I named this project plasma next I I was thinking about the plasma find now as well but yeah I chose plasma next okay what is plasma next in technical discussion it's a payment Channel upgraded by zkp so the famous htlc is replaced by ZK ptlc payment Channel itself it's replaced by oneway payment channel to eliminate their online requirement so it's a one way so the senders bance will keep decrease in the payment channel so the last commitment is always the best for their Hub and operator so that the the operator does not have any incentive to roll back their commitment and onchain Chanel opening is replaced by offchain Channel opening actually this is the biggest uh no biggest thing in this architecture for example in lineing network they you need to founder uh payment jnel or open the payment jnel on chain the procedure is on chain but in plasma next everything offchain so basically almost all things yeah all things are offchain in plasma next system so that's what we call stateless so yeah let's deeper dive to their architecture so in plasma next yeah let let me start from the payment talk about talking about the payment from Alice to Carol be a bob bob is a operator or server or hub no it's kind of middle man as as server and Alice is a stander cars it's the recipient and now you can imagine that there are lot of ARs and carols in this world right okay so the first things we need talk about is the Bob to Carol's payment so there are many cars Bob need to send a lot of money to many cars to perform this one to multi m one too many payments uh the most efficient way to do this is the dkp air drop uh with Market Tre so we can utilize Market tree and include a roll up transaction from Bob to many cars and integrate that to one tree and Bob post the only the loot of the tree to the blockchain and this data is only 32 bytes so it's kind of super limited and Bob can perform a lot of lot of transaction too many caros are know in this idea and Carol gets the proof in that tree and it means that she gets their no money from their that payment okay it's one too many so how to make it to many to many there lot of car want want to sell money to many cars right there's a lot of pair of AR and cars in this world so let's combine the payment channel to that market Tre air drop yeah air drop is a kind of word a bit misleading so yeah I will yeah use this word carefully but no yeah it's kind of air drop right and it the Alice will set the payment channel here and she set the condition of the completion of the payment the condition is that proof of the payment from Bob to Carol in that tree so B if the Bob makes a payment Market Tre payment and make a pay proof of payment the balance of Aris in that payment channel will shift automatically with this proof so yeah yeah then Alice will decrease the balance in the channel Bob get their balance in the channel and decrease the balance in that tree and Carol can get their money in that tree so that how it works and surprisingly car can reuse that payment given money to fund or open the channel or offchain this is a quite important part so car can use the money Reed in the tree as a payment Channel and so it makes her this system kind of bir directional right Aris can send to send money to Carol and Carol can send money to anybody uh it's completely off chain so I said that it's a stateless idea so you might remind remember that impossibility of statelessness it was proposed and proven by A6 in the notable researchers and basically their paper is Right correct there it's basically impossible to make a stateless blockchain but we can avoid this problem uh in theoretically and practically so actually we don't uh we don't solve this problem directly we can delay this problem as long as we want that's there know how to avoid this problem so yeah as I said before Channel opening this off chain their payment in payment CH is offchain stateless with without onchain onchain data cost under yeah Channel funding is also uh stateless right and only the channel closing in stateful it uses a uh State and it makes a state growth but you don't have to do this this simply because you you have to do this when you have a conflict with the operator so if you don't have the conflict with the operator you don't have to do this so basically we can avoid this uh problem impossibility of statelessness totally and perfectly okay the Ser is perfect right this is our first stateless asset system in crypto history and okay then after this what should we do so basically this is a open source project and Our intention is making etherum the best Finance system most carable Finance system the most carable payment system in this world so you can feel free to for it cron it and deploy and launch your own network you can feel free to do that no on your favorite chain we have a road map to integrate the separated Network to One Network in the later stage of l m so yeah you can really feel free to do that and if you care about the programmability we don't worry about that no we can inherit the programmability solidity programmability from layer one state the settlement layer unlike lightning Network we have programmability and there's no Watch Tower you might ask where's the demo right yeah basically we already launched the man aror so you can test this concept under you can experience the fast stateless payment fast
