Good morning everybody. My name is Cartek. I'm one of the co-founders of ETH global and I w want to welcome all of you to Pragma New Delhi. Welcome. This is a conference.
This is an event hosted by ETH global. are here this entire week in Delhi to host Pragma and the ETH global New Delhi hackathon. And for those of you joining us for the first time, I want to welcome all of you and tell you about what ETH global does. We run hackathons and summits both in person and async. And this is one of our in-person summits the day before we kick off a weekend long hackathon.
Now, every Solidity developer knows that a smart contract starts with the word pragma. It's not just the beginning of a developer's journey but for us this event and today is a call towards pragmatism. Our goal here is to bring web 3 to a much wider audience. And the way we can do this is by keeping in mind a few principles that make pragma what it is. This whole event is meant to be one day and single track which means there's not going to be multiple things going on.
No two talks are happening at the same time. Everything that you need to know is happening here in this room and the focus is on the future. We're going to talk about what people are excited about in the world of web 3, whether it's what we're building to what we've seen to what we're going to see become more important over time. And the other piece that's really important for how and why Pragma exists is that we're keeping things non-technical. This is meant to be an event for anybody, not just developers compared to the hackathon.
So, anything you see here is going to be designed for anybody in the audience to understand, which means that there may be some terms that you may not fully understand. And we'll kind of make sure the speakers do our their best to tell you about what these terms are and not go too much into depth. But everything is here is meant to be friendly for anybody, whether you're technical or non-technical. There's going to be 16 talks today. 15 of them are going to be presentations and we're going to do one interview and a fireside chat where we talk about things that we think are important in our ecosystem.
All the information about what today looks like is on the postcard that you saw when you checked in and everything is also available on our website where you can keep track of the schedule and see all the things that you need to know. There's over 600 attendees from 24 different countries coming in. And there's a lot of people that I want to meet and we get to see today in person. And there's also five incredible partners that are outside ready to talk to all of you to share about what they're doing and what's exciting to them. So I want to give a massive shout out to these five partners.
So please give them a massive round of applause. I want to thank Aurora, Bybit, PayPal USD, Polygon, and Vara. You can talk to them outside, learn about what they're doing and how they can help simplify anywhere from your developer journey to what opportunities they may open up for each of you. Now, the next thing is I want to talk about the new deli pack. uh over a hundred of you bought this NFT and packs are a new thing that we've been doing very recently where we get to bundle in a lot of cool things happening anytime we do an event in in any part of the world in any city and this whole pack gets you experience a lot of things happening with our ecosystem and just from ETH global so anything from being able to be in this room as Pragma attendees to having access to a happy hour there's a co-working space set up for anybody who bought a pack uh We have things that simplify your travel.
So, eims, hotels, Uber, credits, and also a lot of side events that are happening this week. You get access to all of those directly. Uh, it's meant to be a new primitive from us. It's onchain. You it's extensible.
Anybody can query things. You can add things automatically. Uh, and I want to get feedback from all of you who tried this and let us know how we can improve things. Um, and all that is available on eglobal.com/packs and you can learn more especially for our upcoming Devconnect Buenosares pack.
And the next thing I want to talk about is ETH global plus. Uh we're simplifying a lot of what we're doing and making it possible for anybody to access what's happening in the web 3 world all across the globe. And ETH global lets you experience that seamlessly in all six continents that are habitable. And it global plus lets you access not only just what we saw in the Delhi pack, but all packs from all the events, hundreds of side events that we do, hundreds of community meetups we do every year now. uh Uber credits, priority pass, developer privileges for making it easy to develop and getting credits around really popular web3 services that you want to use for your projects.
All that kind of gets bundled into packs and we also have a booth outside as ETH global to tell you more about ETH global plus. So check out the booth or our website on eglobal.com/plus and we'll share more about what we're excited about for being onchain. Speaking of onchain, the wristbands that all of you have are a crucial part of being in the building today. Not only do they let us know that you're part of the event and make sure that you get to be in the right side of the building, but these are also custom NFC chips, which means every chip is a Ethereum wallet.
And you can scan this from just your phone. You don't need to download any app. It works directly on the browser. And every band is customized to the person wearing it. Which means that if you meet somebody and you want to get their contact information, you can just scan them on your phone.
It'll open up a browser and they get to share anything from their discord to their telegram to their email address with you and uh you get to kind of see this whole history directly on Eat Global. This is a good way to meet everybody and also lets you access cool things at the event. So for anybody who bought a pack or is a plus member, you get access to special drinks later tonight at the happy hour and and more food. Um and all that is directly tied to your identity. So check this out and we're going to jump right into what today's about.
