[Music] good morning good afternoon good evening how's everybody doing this is meant to be very kind of uh informal you know I I'll go through the um you know our our website the Discord uh mention some reminders and kind of key items I think are quite useful for for hackers especially if this is your first time um but yeah so you know obviously this is you know what what I got on my screen now is the the the main LFO website so hopefully you all you know mess around with this uh seen it you aren't only confirmed hackers will be able to you know to join your team so if you're trying to to bring on somebody after the fact then they your your project will basically disqualified because you have people that are contributing to your code that aren't part of your team so um that is one thing you know obviously judges look at and uh in East Global's uh project reviewers making sure that anybody that contributes code to the projects or actually you know they Stak the they've confirmed uh their attendance so um but yeah you know feel free to send you know people these the the the links to this so and we're definitely still accepting applications so um that was one thing the other thing is once you've you know of course whenever you you do stake and you've confirmed everything you have your dashboard here um and one of the main things we tell people is to connect um your dashboard to Discord so you know right here it'll be you know there'll be the connected Discord button and the reason why we do this is because there's just a ton of you you'll be able to get access to the LFO specific event channels so the LFO chat to find a team Channel um we send a lot of information and updates you know announcements through through through Discord not just via email so we strongly encourage you all to connect your dashboard to Discord and if you are facing any issues and then just let let us know send an email to ow global.com uh and I'm the one who answers those emails and so I can help answer you know troubleshoot to make sure that you are you know getting connected to to the Discord because as you can see I've already sent a few um a few links you know over the past couple of weeks so these are kind of just like the main key items but um but uh yeah this is certainly really important for you all to connect your dashboard to Discord um and then you also get you know the reminders the announcements um and then if you're looking for a team you know the find a team channel is a great way to to do this you know people are are already posting you know their their bios and information if they're looking for teams we strongly encourage you know hackers to have a team and an idea formed uh before hacking begins that way you can spend the duration of the hackathon actually working on your project and not um you know not kind of brainstorming and thinking what what you're going to work on um so I mean going through this you can definitely get some ideas for what folks have done as well where they want to work on too you know this is the dashboard I mentioned you know the Discord connecting it and everything um you know you are able to create a team or join a team and you know if you create a team on on yourself then maybe you want to join like if I click create team um and then I end up you know I ended up ended up wanting to join somebody else's like three person four person team I can always leave the team you know and join that person's team um or you can all and then if you have Team you want to bring people into you can you know enter their names their emails send them the um the this invite link or a code so it makes it pretty easy to kind of connect in terms of like people that you already have identified um and then you know as far as like actually finding team members so let's just say if I just go back and I'm going to create a team um and then I just go back to the dashboard uh we we do have this little so if you click I I agree to my Discord username being shared and everything um uh there is a table that that will um that will it'll take you to that has all the different like people who have opted in for this so you'll see everybody that's you know has the um there skills Technologies and um kind of what their background is what they're looking for and stuff um and I think there's just a little bug so we'll have to I'll have to tweak this uh but and then come back come back to it but it's uh it's it it kind of just has a table you know of everything and so somebody asked a question if we have the the PowerPoint slides uh so I I kind of saw stop sto doing that because I found that people weren't really using those that often so um instead we're trying to use this this format but also I'm I'm working with a a a pre previous hacker hacking team that that sort of has this um their own little like team formation stuff as well it's it's an app so I'm see if it can't be like in a different not an app form but we're trying to create different ways on how we can you know give better opportunities for for hackers to um you know to to be able to find team memb more more efficiently and just more more better um and then also we do have team formation sessions so uh if you if you do check the the the calendar the schedule um if I go to the schedule here so like right now and then again if you haven't seen this like this is we have a lot of information on what's to come what to expect um and then you know obviously that was week one is when tomorrow is when a lot of things do begin but excuse me Friday is when things begin but Thursday we do have a team formation session our our first one and you know the time Z will be local to where to where you're based but then Friday we also Friday evening at least my time uh we do have another team formation session so this will be on on zoom and we do breakout rooms and it's a really good way I think for folks to kind of share what they're you know what they want to work on what they're looking for you like can you kind of just introduce yourself tell us you know who you are what your background is what you what ideas you have um but uh again it's just another great way for us to kind of you know come together and so we definitely you know it's a safe Zone you know we we're not forcing you to talk or anything but uh it's you know trying to give you opportunities to really you know make if you are looking for team members to to to find those find those team members in the Discord so we have the different partner channels so we have Al chain leag family uh they're they're they're Dev reals they're their Engineers they will be monitoring this chat and answering questions as they come in um and then they're also going to host office hours so one thing that isn't on the schedule yet uh is and I think it is this will start next week and it's I think it should be like Monday Wednesday and Friday for a couple of hours each of those days where they're going to host office hours um I think it's still undecided if they'll host them you know within a zoom call or within a channel like a a voice Channel and Discord but um they're GNA offer offer those dedicated hours too for folks to come and ask any uh specific questions as well um and then also yeah people if people haven't uh already done this so like you can you can do this a couple ways but if you go to the prizes page I'm sorry I'll send this in the chat um they they've already sort of provided some information around particular things that they would like to see um now again this isn't limiting you to what you're what you can work on of course you're able to work on you know a broad range of topics so long as it you know involves has to do with go the token um but this gets more bit bit more grer specific on then these are just ideas you know that that they would like to see uh done and implemented so if people are struggling if you're struggling with an idea uh or maybe you're not sure what to do how to do it know there's a ton of different links resources information and documentation on this prizes page as well uh and if if you ever you know get lost don't know where this is if you go back to the partner Partners um uh Discord Channel like you have the links here as well so uh just just keep that in mind but uh somebody had asked this question to me um uh earlier in the week and so you know we have they're the partner prizes and then there's also the eth global uh the finalist of prizes as well so those aren't tied to anything specifically um so long as you know it just has to do with go in some way right so we don't we don't really tie products to like you has to do this this and this and this type of thing um so yeah that's just something for folks to to keep in mind as well um and I think yeah PR you had asked about other places to explore ideas for go and some other areas ideas for inspiration so I would take a look at this this information p uh and then also there was I did post um excuse me if you go back here um in this in the information Channel we had in Istanbul we Al grants da had a a best deoc coin integration winners so um these are two you know two uh projects that were done in in in Istanbul that I think are worth checking out um kind of gives you an idea for maybe what what you can work on as well um but with that in mind also the the Showcase page like in general is has a ton of of just all of our events you're able to scroll back and look at all all of our events U historically um and then one thing I'll just send this link too I it's kind of the same thing but another thing is to kind of give you a better idea maybe for from aath Global finalist perspective and just terms of what what we look for in projects or or what what people are are doing is um this is our the finalist thread from our previous online event eth online 2023 so if you go here if you take any of these names and just type them into the the Showcase page so like if I do you know shop connect you know it'll pop up here eth online you it'll kind of show you the the logos for the different prizes they won but if you click on this you know it'll have you know a bunch of information on kind of what what you would be doing basically so your project description How It's Made uh you'll they'll see some you know some screenshots but then also you'll have their video as well so you know because this is an online async event uh you'll be making a you know two to four minute video and this is what we'll be played for the judges uh on during the judging on uh I think it's Monday the uh the 21st I think 21st 22nd um and so this is what the judges will see right so your your your demo video is quite important because this is what they're going off of you know to kind of give you uh just to see what what you've done over the past you know week week and a half two weeks um but then once all in set is done then know it gets P published to this showcase page and so basically lives on you know forever right um but uh if you're unsure of like would be what you what you should be in the video or or anything like definitely give give give these past uh these past like finalist um projects a go just kind of peruse them see see what they did and then you know if you are selected as a finalist you can also just go back to to actually see like the the finale this will give you an idea for um for for what what we do at during the the closing ceremony so like if I go through here just quickly like Danilo tulo from cryptopolis he's basically doing a live demo right so um again if you're unsure of maybe like I want to be a finalist right so what what does that mean give a look uh you know look look back our eth online 2023 finale and again it goes through you know each of the finalists from that Twitter threat I showed um but it also kind of again gives you an idea for you know what what they're doing what they're ding how they're presenting themselves how they're presenting their project right so you know hopefully there are going to be a ton of you know project managers maybe non- technical hackers that are looking for teams to join so if you are somebody like that if you're looking for somebody to bring on your team you know these are definitely folks that could C certainly be very useful and helpful in making sure that your your video is great the presentation's great uh that you're you're getting your story across uh you know being able to to relay that to to the judges and to the app excuse me to the project reviewers and such um and yeah this big advice shoot the video as soon as possible uh it's yeah it's some people wait till last minute to do it it's certainly a really important critical part of of of judging especially for the online asek events uh just because you know it's it's what the it's what the judges will will see whenever we uh we do the live judging um so yeah I would definitely try and get ahead of that as soon as possible you know have the team formed have the idea formed start hacking boom get get get all that done so that way you're not stressed out when the submissions do on on that Sunday um Sunday afternoon well Sunday afternoon uh e us time some of you may have already received my email last night kind of an update but if you if you if you confirmed hacking after the fact then you wouldn't have received it but I was talking about the uh going over the schedule and so you know there's obviously a ton of information here uh it does there might be some changes like I think one Workshop is going to be rescheduled but if you want to add this to your calendar you know I just send a link for adding to your uh the Google event calendar that way it helps you manage everything more more efficiently then definitely go ahead and do that as well um this whenever we do receive changes obviously we update this and then the the calendar will update itself um but uh this is also really helpful I think for because project submissions you know they're due the Sunday the 21st right uh I think some people whenever we have our events we go from the very beginning to the very end and that very end includes the finale so the finale is actually on the 24th of January but um of course we have you know submissions are due Sunday the 21st and then you know the next day is judging and then we have about a day day and a half to kind of go over you know making sure that whoever's presenting during the finale they're they're ready um and then the that's people the the judges and reviewers have time to kind of decide like what's how how to how everybody is ranked and everything too so that's one thing I think some people sometimes people get mixed up on especially if this is their first hackathon so just plan that accordingly right so you have you know hacking starts um Friday at 11:00 a.m. you know central time and then it's projects are due Sunday um January 21st at noon eastern time so um so yeah just just keep that in mind right um and whilst I'm on here you know the uh people were asking about ideas and stuff as well so the the worksh shops like we'll we'll have I think the the first one yeah the first Workshop that we're going to have is on Friday so these workshops and in in during the the uh the opening ceremony the summit uh are other great opportunities for you to learn about exactly what go is how to use it what what the future of it is going to be um so I would suggest you know folks check these out as well these also will be recorded and posted on our YouTube channel so um um you know if if you're not if you're not familiar with it I'll go ahead and send the link to our YouTube channel um but yeah everything is is going to be you know it's going to be shared here and there's some stuff yeah so as you can see everything's the upcoming live streams right so and then the other thing is uh so we have next week I haven't uh we we'll send more information around this next week but we have a project check-ins that are due so these are opportunities for you to you just fill out a form like on from your hacker dashboard it's not the UI isn't open yet just because we haven't started yet um so you won't see it but you'll answer a couple of questions and the main thing of these check-ins is really just to get feedback from our partners so you'll let us know if you're blocked on anything um how everything's going if if everything's going great for you you have no issues and you can feel free to say that as well uh but this is really geared towards making sure that you know your your you're kind of staying on track that you're you're everything's going good for you um and if it's not then we can try we'll address it as soon as possible so that way you can you can get back on track so I read every submission the partners will read submissions that are applicable to them um but these These are opportunities really for you just to make sure that you know you're you're you're good you're GNA come project submission time on Sunday that everything's going to be great you're not going to be stressed out and it's going to be it's going to work out uh great for you so uh this is currently what we have for in terms of the mentors um there's a few more that are going to be uh joining us um but every all the mentors are going to be from avara Labs which is the parent company of you know uh a and family and stuff so it's um they're they're all you know they know go stable coin everything quite quite well amongst other things you know they have other obviously other skills too um but there will be about five I think five of the mentors that'll be joining so these these will be the RS and folks that will help you you know answer answer all the technical questions um in the um in the in the partner channels and probably the mentorship help Channel as well but yeah they'll it's a bit quiet now just because they're still kind of getting ready so if there's some documentation that still maybe is not updated or anything it's because they're working on that um but uh so yeah just just so something to to keep in mind why it might be a bit quiet now until hacking uh actually begins on Friday now now if I go to the info so here is a lot of different uh good information around kind of just what um in terms of just like admid administrative stuff right so Logistics and stuff and so again if you're if this is your first you know time you know hacking with us I kind of went up mentioned you know uh connecting to Discord and how you chat with uh phow hackers joining the team and other resources and you know our Cod conduct and everything so um again it gives in just more detailed information so if you everything I've said here if you forget about what I've said definitely give this a read um it's always there it'll be there um if there's anything that's not clear please please let us know this actually is a something needs to be updated so I will update this submission deadline because it's actually Sunday not uh Wednesday um so don't don't pay attention to that because that that is incorrect um and then it does also go into like you know the finalist judging the partner judging and stuff so it's we we have we have two tracks right so you don't have to do finalist judging you don't have to do partner judging if you want to do one or the other that's totally fine some people do both um but whenever you fill out the project submission um whenever you're filling that out you'll you'll be you'll see you'll be given the option if you want to do both um and it just means that you know if you just do partner judging that means you don't have to you know do the um do the actual live judging on on Monday it's just uh you're just basically submitted to the partners they'll watch your video and that's that uh if you want to do the live judging um on Monday the F that that means that you're trying to compete to become a finalist uh that you would present during our finale on Wednesday um so it's uh if if if you have if you're unsure about anything you have a bit unsure or this it seems like a great area you know definitely let us know let me know um and uh but yeah there are there are two different tracks that that that you can that you can uh participate in um and then if I go back the rules project submission and judging so again this kind of goes over this you know like I said ignore this uh this kind of goes over a bit more information on you know qualifications and everything uh this the qualification round one this is only if we do two rounds of judging we're not going to do that for LFO this is more for like our bigger bigger online events like eth online um so you don't need to worry about that but actually is a good point maybe this for this we can just remove it just so it's no confusion uh but people some people have questions about open source libraries and boiler plates so you know we kind of provide some information around this that you should not be working on your projects before the event begins uh again it goes over you know the finalist prizes and partner prizes if you just do the partner track only um you know the judging session will once you submit your project um you'll your dashboard will will update and then it probably won't do it until Monday but you'll be able to click a link to go to a green room we'll add we'll divide you into which judging rooms you're supposed to go to uh each judging room will have two judges and then uh there will also be two Volunteers in there and the volunteers they'll play your your video for you and so you know your video is two to four minutes long and you know once that's done playing then the judges will ask you questions for about three to four minutes um depending on you know how much time you have left you only get a lot of seven minutes basically um but if your video is you know two minutes then you know they could probably keep going for for you know five minutes pretty much so um but that that'll be the format of it so you'll be in a in a a zoom a zoom uh meeting link similar to this uh with other with other teams and two judges and volunteers and you'll be able to watch other all the other teams in your room's videos as well in youre their presentation so um you're more than welcome to to stay after you've done presented or you can you can obviously leave the the the zoom call as well the format for tomorrow's brainstorming team formation session that's a good question Michelle so yeah um basically will be in a zoom zoom call and everybody will be allowed the opportunity to introduce themselves talk about you know who you are what your background is maybe if you have a project idea already that you want to work on you can share that with with folks um and then maybe what sort of team members or teammates you're looking for so once everybody's done that then we will divide uh I will create some breakout rooms for folks to be able to join and then you all can have smaller discussions uh amongst each other that way you're not kind of talking all over one another so people are able to hop around the different rooms and usually what happens is people will say hey I you know I really liked your idea you know can I I'll I'll be in room room five or room three or whatever and so people will just go to that room and just start chatting or um but yeah you're able to freely move around the rooms too so you can kind of get a better feel for what other people are talking about and stuff um can you opt in for both Harish uh yeah you can opt in for both the finalist judging and the partner judging uh you you don't have you can people do that yeah that's true that you'll be able to select both so you'll be able to select both and then you can select which partner prizes you want to apply for um and you don't have to apply for all the partner prizes you can only if you want to apply for just one or two that's totally fine as well um but luckily usually for our events we can have maybe 20 Partners so to apply for all of them would be uh impossible nearly uh luckily for this one there's only a handful so you are able to apply for all of them if if you want um if you share your project idea can't someone just steal it uh it's possible I mean uh but I mean it's you know I guess any anybody can steal right but as far as like the execution and actually doing the work you know that's something else as well so um you know it's one thing to yes maybe steal an idea but then to actually execute upon it I think it's something else entirely so if you already have a really good idea and you're able to tackle it then you know I think you'll be a better position but um who knows maybe that that person will join want to join your team and help you as well so obviously the more help the better right know for this hackathon we you know it's it's um I think officially hacking you know you get about nine or so days right so it's not that much time so you know you don't one thing to keep in mind I guess with your project ideas is you don't want to um you know try and take on so much you know in that short amount of time you want to make sure that it's uh you know you're able to accomplish what you want to accomplish um that way whenever you're presenting to the judges that it's you know it's it's a really it's a really great great quality project um some times what people do after hackathons is they want to keep working on their project and then they eventually turn into maybe a startup or a company or something so that's totally you know possible for for folks um but I think you know start simple and then you know just really kind of hone in on what exactly is you want to excuse me what do you want to showcase but uh but yeah that's uh you know just something to keep in mind right you know nine nine or 10 days uh make sure that your scope doesn't go completely out of control that you just try try to do so many different things uh across those across uh those days uh is the a one A Partners track yeah so uh that's that that that'll be their like um their partner track let me just go yeah so like whenever in the project submissions all these different prizes like you'll you'll be able to see them um uh whenever you do the project submission what's the participation count like approximately uh uh we have over 500 hackers I think that are confirmed um but I suspect that that number will continue to increased usually for online events we get a lot of uptick you know the last 48 hours so um I don't know the final number of how many hackers that will will be joining but I think we last time I saw there was 300 that had been no accepted and notified but hadn't you know uh done anything yet so we do send reminders to folks um as you probably are aware if you got one you know from cartic or myself within the past week or so um but um yeah it's uh it'll no no idea what the final number will be but it's over 500 right now and yeah but the submission requires someone so someone can yeah yeah I mean it's uh it's it's possible I mean the whole thing right you everything's open source so it's it really in my opinion you know I I'm all for open sourcing and transparency but the real what makes it really challenging is actually executing audit so you know that's that's that's the really uh difficult part um and that's what kind of sets out you know the S some companies from other companies right uh so uh yeah that's just that's something to keep in mind so for a track can we we can use pre-existing codes uh yes I mean so well I mean I'm not pre-existing codes like I me you're able to use open source libraries uh for for any any anything doesn't have did like uh for any of our hackathons so um I some like depending on what so the partner prizes they they're a little different I guess because each each partner and each prize is looking for something specific and unique so uh I would suggest you know reading through the you know each description and everything and if you do have a specific question about you know chain link or something then definitely you know send a message in the uh in their partner channel uh that way they can they can provide you know more clarity around it because I I mean I can't speak for all the different partners so I'm not sure exactly how they're you know what their rules and criteria are for for for for judging their specific partner prizes um but yeah if you're ever insured just send a message to to them and if they don't get back to you then let me know as well and that way we can follow up with them for preexisting projects know everything should be everything should be you know done from scratch um if you know pre-existing projects I think are kind of a special use case so some people they have pre-existing projects but what they plan to do is completely like separate from that pre-existing project so all the code uh the uh how it integrates with with it you know it's completely cut off it can run as a standalone project so um if it's something like that I think that's okay but if you're unsure then send an email to hello global.com and you know we can get more clarity around exactly what it is you're trying to do uh will the G commits be checked yes they will be checked the app or excuse me the project reviewers do check that information uh if if you are completely new uh and then completely new to Discord like the the resources uh Channel under welcome and how to contribute you know these again these have a lot of more information as well just general our our events like there's a guide like here's a guide that I that I wrote uh about our events and this includes in real life events as well but also in async events but maybe if you're if you if you're somebody you want to work with and they're having trouble with staking you know send them this link uh common ific cues you know we have this here things I wish I knew this is a just a compilation of folks who whove shared their you know thoughts and experiences around uh their the events that they've that they've done um and uh and then yeah you know if people are looking for to apply for other events as well like this the how to contribute lists out all the upcoming events too so just just as an FYI like you know this this uh the these the these links I think are quite useful and beneficial for folks especially if you are new and sometimes you're not sure where to where to find something well are there going to be benefits like other eth glal events travel sponsorship for the finalist uh yeah if you if you do take a look at our previous like finale closing finales like towards the end we do announce what our finalist prizes are um so sometimes that does change a little bit but um yeah I would I would suggest just go check out a previous event of ours um and maybe just watch a watch one of the finales maybe like eth online or even you know we just did India right um but um we do have you know we have we list the partner prizes but we also do have um uh you know eth global finess prizes so they are a bit different and they're not they're not published online just because it kind of um actually I'm not really sure why because they are they are on the videos right so you could find them if you wanted to but I guess it maybe adds to the the mystery of what the what the prizes are what are the functional expectations of the GitHub repo or the demo video uh I mean you GitHub is it's you know it serves as you know what was done mostly what was built done during you know during the hacking time right um and then just kind of shows like sometimes maybe if you're if you can't get a working demo uh in the video or you can get a quality video then judges will go back and look at the the GitHub repo uh as well or maybe maybe your um uh maybe the the code isn't as or the excuse me the the functionality of the of the project isn't as nicely conveyed during code as it can be you know through words and a presentation right so you know there could be that wow factor that judges judges are looking for um so uh you know I it's they kind of go hand in hand right um but um you know the really if you can get a working demo and then if it's if it's really incredible demo in the video then great judges Judes will definitely go back and see like all right you know what's this done during this time and how exactly you know did did they get this is this really something that's Innovative and creative or or you know some some something else um but that's kind of how the GitHub and the I think the the demo video kind of work hand inand with each other the features in the last presentation are exactly the same as the demo or they could be the end goals while we produce introduce a sort of a prototype so there are some project people teams that you know they've got a really great idea but maybe they weren't able to to carry it out um you know coat it up or or build it to the functional that they would like so people still do present that and you know so a lot of Judges depending on the originality technicality of the the project will could potentially be really wowed by it um so you know it sometimes you know the I think that that goes that also could be a good thing too U because we sometimes judges may see the same projects over and over again and maybe it works yeah but maybe they're just not really te like wowed by it or they they don't see like the longer term potential and impact so U but maybe that term potential impact of a project does take a bit longer time to really uh uh work on and accomplish so um it could that mean so yeah so in that case some judges might you know view that favor favorably um but uh but yeah it's I mean it's it it's I think it's judges preference right um I think and yeah I think at the end of the day as long as you know you really try and put your best effort into making something especially if it was if really has a strong impact then you know that's I think that's that's totally acceptable where to get ideas for projects um so yeah so I mean you um you can you can go to the partner the prizes page uh tus or I would also suggest you know we have our this is the eth online um Twitter finist thread but we also have if you go to e or the highlights uh tab on on Twitter under our our handle uh we do have threads for other previous finist as well so you can always search these these projects up in our showcase page um and then to kind of get more specific information exactly on what what it is that they did and then lastly for for this specifically there is I did post in the information there were two projects that were a grant Dow best go stable coin winners um so I would yeah maybe give these give these a look as well to us but yeah those are I think the those those should give you some ideas and yeah I mean even just just I think just maybe Googling go and and and see and just throwing some random stuff up there and see what comes up but then also we have the uh the you know the the workshop excuse me the team formation brainstorming session um there's one [Music] tomorrow tomorrow and and and Friday so if you want to come to that and other people will probably be there you know sharing their ideas and thoughts as well then um I think I think that's worth worth the worth attending to if you're still unsure of what what to work on the best thing you know if you have a question you don't need to you don't need to ask him the the questions or general chat you can just ask it here in the LFO chat that's totally fine and anything just keep it under just keep keep it in LFO that way you know questions are being you asked in different different channels um but uh and then of course if you have a specific a chain link or family question then ask it in the in their partner channels and that that'll give get that'll give you a quicker response from from those Devils there um but uh yeah and if you have anything else specifically that you don't want to ask in public you know just you know send an email to hello ethg global.

com and uh I will will answer that as quickly as I can but yeah thank you all for attending and I hope you all have a great day rest of the week and uh Happy hacking looking forward to seeing everybody's projects and kind of getting to know folks as we go along this journey together so thank you all have a great rest of your [Music] day
