Artificial Intelligence, Abu Dhabi 2023, with Mastercard: Opening Address

[Music] morning everyone welcome to the AI Forum here at ABW Finance week where we'll be sharing some of the latest advancements and looking at the future of AI my name is Rachel and I have the pleasure of guiding you through this morning's session now it's been a week where AI has been in the news even more than usual but I'm not going to comment on open AI or the cia's security concerns because we are running a few minutes over time and quite frankly I think a lot of people in this room are probably more qualified than I am to discuss such topics needless to say that AI is not just this technical Revolution about blockchain algorithms and data it's a fundamental shift in how we interact with the world around us how we live and how we work I use it I use chat gbt all the time in fact I actually use chat gbt to write a number of my intros today and as my subtle way of bribing you to make sure you pay attention I did actually bring a small prize for anyone who can come up to me afterwards and guess which ones were actually written by AI now given we are here in this worldclass financial center of adgm it seems fitting that we're going to start the day by looking at ai's role in finance from the AI Forum partner MasterCard JK Kil he is the general manager of mina East responsible for the UAE Pakistan Kat Kuwait and Oman at MasterCard he has over 18 years of tech banking Consulting and payments experience having held a number of roles at multinational Banks top te consulting firms and Tech startups he's also an avid angel investor and startup advisor
