hello and welcome to the second fed data society event slash hackathon it's good to have you here thank you very much for coming my name is antonio and i can tell you on behalf of the organizers of the event that we are really excited to finally kickstart this event that will be running until the 21st of march an important date because it's the international day of forests the international holiday and the next equinox and we are excited because guam is blooming but what is one exactly well one it's an idea it's a seed it's a roar for a better and brighter internet an internet where we post memes and we don't worry about mock we research and we are not search back when information and this is getting evident these days it's been it's not being co-opted by some organizations or big governments where we have the right to know and to make our own decisions in essence where we own our digital life and we are free and noticing free beer as in william wallace is free so if you are not happy of how the internet is becoming this is a good place to start we'll not give you the answers we don't have all of them but we can help you look for them and to do that we have talks with pioneers in different areas such as privacy where we will discover how do we have we do have to change our frame of mind to create applications art and how art is being spectacularly captured by new canvases taos and how they will become super relevant in the new internet and much much more today well today the next hour you'll hear firsthand about the topics that will be scratched during these three weeks you'll hear about some juicy bounties for the bounty hunters of the galaxy you'll hear about exciting contests for greater glory of the winners and will you will know how to use your nft ticket to increase rarity and finally put them all together in a pot to create a dial the tools to create a brighter internet are all here and the exit from web 2.0 is through the dao so let us start cool yes yes so you know it's like when is about openness so what better way to be on the first of march out there in the open and uh join in the call from there you know it's like we are free in this sense and we we can be grateful for this yeah all right so exciting times aren't they yeah exciting times so yeah this this part uh before we kick off in the program it's basically a minute to kind of reflect to uh to think about why are we building uh the things that we are building why are we building the tech and the short answer could be we are building the tech to make the world a better place and one could say in today's time this is even very much more needed and uh more we are millions who built a better web this app is called web3 so it's essentially it's about positive social impact it's not just about solving the mathematical problems but building things that people use that uh that are used for as a force for good uh in this sense it's like also looking at swarms one's mission is to empower digital freedom to empower digital freedom by specifically making data unstoppable but at the same time it's also swarm is a lot about a lot more at the same time we cannot do everything and here comes fair data society into gaming it's it's an initiative it's an initiative to connect to collaborate to unite in topics that are bigger than a single individual or a project it's like topics like privacy privacy does not just stop with one person or one project or even more it's about uh you know tackling digital freedom so at the core of fair data society and the van we are minions is this drive for collaboration the togetherness or how it's also called and in this sense it's like we need to remember that we are millions who build a better web we are millions who build a better future uh we are mediums who enable a fair data society and it's our call to adventure from all of us all of us who are online who are part of the digital world and at the end it's like also i would say it's very important that we also stress we are minions is not just about developers it's about people people people first so even if you're not a developer think about how can we build a better world and here a call call to action also to help people who suffer in ukraine help to set up censorship resistant blocks for truth to be told same goes for people in russia help them to set up censorship-resistant blog posts for the truth to come out and it's not just stopping not stopping there you know it's like build downs we can organize we with the new tools we can empower digital freedom and in this regard it's uh this i would say it's a very good also moment that we just dive into the program so i would call back uh antonia and mina and uh let's uh let's have a look what uh what's in store for uh the first millions here we start it's a three three weeks of a quite packed program but there's still also place for new program to emerge so the the ultimate reference for your program let there be we are millions dot online and this is also what i'm sharing so starting in week one we dive two days with a uh opening opening event tomorrow we tackle the topic of how do we empower digital freedom so it's empowering digital freedom day it's like how can we use technologies to create a self-sovereign digital uh society uh how can we use tools for whistleblowers what is fair data protocol and so forth we continue with how we reclaim privacy and uh it's we have amazing speakers here it's uh personally i'm biased here i'm looking very much forward to the privacy as a core value of battery where with the giants of the decentralized space and privacy we will discuss why privacy is important and why do we need to take care of it so we will continue with nft blockchain and music day and this is the best cue for mina to come in please yes because this day is actually one of the first and most exciting ones for me uh we'll be discussing uh where exactly blockchain and nfts meet music industry at the moment what type of efforts have been made in in the way of implementing this tech into music and music industry uh we'll be talking about artist empowerment and so forth starting by copyright delta presentation followed by your q and a and then a panel which uh i think is hiding some some hidden some hidden guests and will be announced very soon to this panel as well we'll be extending it because there is an interest from all sides to expand it and i think it's going to be a really good panel on where the music industry is in terms of connection to blockchain yeah you're smiling gregor i know i could be going on about this uh like for the whole afternoon but let's keep moving so back to you i need to mute myself we're back at week two oh uh which is more of me more of me uh okay i would just like to also point out the 7th of march it's going to be around more visual arts there will be a panel on art and locational identities as you can see with sina gustavsson and edgar kraft an additional speaker to be announced really soon and then later on in the evening or evening hours we have a discussion on art blockchain and nfts with some really star guests as you can see here we have luke chosich who is a pioneer in the net art we have kevin mccoy who minted the first ever nft in 2014 and thomas banovic he was the director of postmasters gallery and dominico quaranta expecting an english translation of his fresh book on art blockchain and nfts in april and now back to gregor thank you venus so uh it's the web shorter for we are millions it's also going to be a lot about gaming it's uh on the 8th of march we will close our nordic game applications more about this later in the event and then we move on onto daos so that was in a way how can we self-organize as a community what are the new what is the power of the dolls and we start very powerful with the famous grief green one of the co-founders one of the protagonists of the the dao and today today he's very active as giveth under his project giveth which is revolutionizing giving we continue with the all-star uh panel on dallas and how does can foster purposeful communities we have jack deros founder of colony we have ross nelson from diggs dao aaron wright from the lao martin field from dallas tech grief green again from give it and rachel rose representing assange dao and dark phi it's uh it's the best in my opinion uh panel to get fired up to start uh building cadal and you can uh here we can follow up there will be more uh more uh workshops announced we have here listed the first workshop set up a dao with colony and others just watch this space will follow we follow the next day with the liberate day today which is essentially it's all about well i guess liberating data how do we bring humanity's good data onto swarm onto decentralized storage how do we unlock it from the data world and how data can start working for the individual for for us so uh the program here will also be packed with uh various demos and also workshops on how how to become active next days not operators day it's exactly what it basically says it's about how to spin up your node how to how to build and help resilient networks by being the node operator and accessing the data directly followed by this we have the web 3 demo day it's going to be a demo showcasing day of projects who build essentially tools to unlock the fair data economy uh projects that are built on form and this again is the cue for you mina thanks march 16th is called art in the metaverse day this is a very broad title on purpose but i won't be revealing any content of this day because the program is designed to be flexible as gregor pointed out in the beginning all right next next one it's march 18th game contest day it's something to really look forward to it's the day when we have the contest event with our partners nordic game and i guess more about this nice explanation about uh what um is about right so obviously any kind of efforts to make the world better except more accessible more connected and a more enjoyable place are encouraged and supported by the infrastructure provided by fairness of society be it connecting for discussions via the discord channels or using the provided end points to experiment with swarm decentralized storage or second second layer solutions like ferrous on top of it but to guide the efforts and attach some rewards to them we are putting out prices and bounties most of these will be in the form of a competition where you can apply as one of the competitors this will not only cover development and tech topics but also non-tech ones so make sure to check them even if you're not a developer the prices and bounties might also be added through the duration of the hackathon but the first and the largest batch will be available for your consideration tomorrow at the end of the hackathon a panel of judges will consider all the competition applications fitting the requirements taking into the account judging criteria decide on one or more winners depending on the type of the price make sure to thank you so much hello everybody out there in the internet i'm jacob reese i am uh the program director at the naughty game conference uh this next edition coming up in may a little commercial there and next to that i am also the host and organizer of the nordic game discovery contest and that is why i'm here and first of all thank you organizers for bringing a naughty game discovery contest into them into your program it's a pleasure and an honor to be here uh i hope that we will have a great deal of fun but um so if you are a game developer you should listen now um and if you're not yeah go and make coffee or i don't know but um this is for game developers do you have a game that uh you want to be discover struggling to get it out get it out there maybe even just start it on a prototype of it or in alpha mode or whatever it is if you're developing a game the nordic game discovery contest is for you because as the name says the discovery contest it is a contest about getting discovered we are in our sixth season now so um kind of a veteran in the pitch battle contest area and that is why we have uh honed our skills in there and made a contest that is uh challenging for the uh contestants but also rewarding and not least quite fun to be part of and watch so basically it is a contest where you as a game developer um come you go and battle in a in a pitch kind of way uh against each other and a panel of judges and the audience and me because i am the host of the dang so um you gonna see me again um and what you need to be able to participate is that you need to submit your game to uh to us i think the link is already up there you can just follow it and click it and in there you will be asked to send us information about your game and uh where you are and a couple screenshots and all the necessary info uh you also have to be creative and and and uh record a little bit of uh some videos um but everything all the info is in there it's very fun it's not like really loads of work to participate um and yeah you should do it so what is it you should do well when you submit your game it will be reviewed by the ntdc board and we will pick three out of all the submitted games to be the contestants for this for this qualifier as it's called um and uh if you guy getting accepted then you'll have to upload your stuff and then you have to prepare to battle it out live pitch battle and that means that you will be on stage and pitch your game in front of the judges they will ask you grilling questions and we will watch some videos of the game and have a little bit of surprise fun as well and should you then win in this battle then you have won the qualifier of the ntdc and that means that you have earned a seat for the grand finals the nordic game discovery contest grand finals which is taking place in november we are touring around the world and wham i'm a whammer now is one of the two stops meaning that in the grand finals all of the the winners of the different qualifiers out there will meet to find out who deserves the most to be discovered and be the nordic game discovery contest game of the year but that is november that is so far from here first of all now you should uh take a look at the rules and uh please submit uh your chances good and what is it you get out of it that's maybe also a little bit important to know is that we partnered up with uh with uh several partners such as 10 cent and whisper games and microsoft and intel and also a pr company and all of these partners will be giving you prizes along the way should you go all the way to the finals and should you win the whole shebang well there's no money involved but there's a lot of discoverability so uh i think that was my rant i don't know if i forgot anything if so maybe you can ask me questions now i don't think there was any that is a success then my speech was a success i can take that box and say thank you so much for listening to me please the conversation so uh one as you have seen in the webpage we are combining these four groups because we need artists and storytellers to elevate us we need mentors to remind us the right path builders to create digital works and of course players to eat doritos and make all the previous mentioned things alive and the problem the thing is when we were designing this event we were thinking okay how are we going to make all these people interact how are we going to create a conversation and how are we going to create some place where they can gather and exchange ideas so in order to uh to to do this we have to spend a platform to capture and empower all these interactions these platforms for resistance and uh teddy fuse is the architect of the platform hello today are you around yes hello hello [Music] let me ask you a couple of questions uh let's start with the basics uh what is your assistance uh then what is the platform what is resistance what is the resistance so the resistance is a kind of us experiment how to use the nfts expand them and add additional data to them and offer you know like common people very easy way to create to create new nfts to create to add additional data to it and of course offer it on the marketplace so i've heard i've seen that all the plans that you have with the platform is about some avatars what are these avatars and how can i get one to start playing with uh they consist of 28 parameters and during the whole progress of the hackathon as you will go and visit panels and see talks and be engaged you will receive different sets of points right and these points are from the skill points to the reputation points to the plural points uh and data points right so for example if you will visit the panel and at that time you will enrich your avatar you would you would get you know some visibility distinctiveness uh or transparency well it it all depends on what what kind of talk or panel you will be attending and with this way you will build up your avatar so yeah it's like composed of four nfts so each nft carries some properties uh and yeah so your your voyage through the vam will be seen on on your hackathon on your avatar it's a it's a way to measure your contribution some way to measure your participation and how you your performance in this in this event right yeah that's that's the main idea yeah awesome awesome so um how this this how all these ends what's uh what's the final level of the platform what do you say how is deal will it all play out in the end as you are down this is uh let's say we will see but for sure there will be something coming out that everybody should get and gain something out of it okay okay let's keep it like this let's give it like there's more things to come fantastic
