good morning east denver how are you guys doing today whoa i like that reaction that's amazing guys awesome so i would love to tell you guys a little bit about octopus networks and what we can do with awesome partnerships and then i'll tell you guys a little bit about what i'm doing at the near verse and how octopus is helping me all right so octopus networks helps people create app chains now i know most of this rom is probably familiar with dapps but if you're familiar with app chains please raise your hand awesome so that's great yeah my team raised their hand that's cool um that's great because app chains are really becoming really really popular basically if you're familiar with polka dot and familiar with parachains then we build out similar things on near and let me tell you a little bit about the difference between a dap and a nap chain so adap is a decentralized application that runs on your public chain right and that can be susceptible to the traffic what if like at certain times there's a lot of traffic and high gas fees and other times there's not much when you're planning a large app or a large business what you want to do is you want to have reliability and scalability so that's why we invented app chains and app chains is like an entire blockchain dedicated to your app so our app chains have 1500 plus transactions per second the only traffic is yours there's no gas unless you want there to be gas and you get the gas fees right so gap chains are very powerful very scalable and very reliable now some of the really cool use cases for app chains are found in the gaming world because when you have games you're having a digital community where there's so many transactions going on all the time i love talking to gamers because they always teach me about new transactions that they want to put on the ledger for example if you had a game item and i had a game item let's meet up in the game and merge the items together or let's stake the items together for shared rewards all of these different things require really complex smart contracts to be able to record this on the ledger and with octopus networks you'll be able to have as many app chains as needed for as many applications because we figured out that with near's delegated proof of stake with sharding that we're able to build out an entire app chain on a shard so that's app chains ask yourself what can octopus do for you and how you can be able to build out your own app chain do you want to build out a dap or are you looking for a more enterprise level blockchain technology and now i'm going to talk a little bit about what octopus is doing with me and in the near verse so near protocol is one of my favorite block chains obviously octopus is built on top of near protocol allows us to build out app chains and we decided to create the near metaverse so basically what we're doing here is we have a couple of cool tokenomics and some of these tokenaments was quite hard to be able to do with a normal dap but way easier to do with octopus app chains technology so for example we have a play to earn method that's called explore to earn when you explore in the metaverse and you move one tile in any direction you generate a subverse token there's a contract that will generate a new token and if you're moving on your own land you get all of your tokens however if you're on land that someone else owns you have to share half your tokens with the landowner this causes people to purchase lands and make it attractive they put nft museums there they put reasons for people to walk on their land because they're basically farming user activity on their land and we think that's really cool and it was super hard for us to do that with a normal smart contract and dap to be able to know when to allocate it to the user or not based off of the plots that they are in the world so we used app chain technology to be able to scale out that to our user base because when dealing with games we're dealing with 10 000 monthly active users or more right like it's a lot of transactions a lot of things going something else that we're really excited about that was quite hard and not easy for us to do in a normal dap is creative staking so we have a lot of defy applications and what's amazing about near protocol is in the huge defense ecosystem octopus let us build out the game chain side of it and record all of the complex transactions and have all of the different contracts verified but what we needed and block finality speeds very fast but what we also needed was defy applications and thankfully being on near protocol that made our d5 ecosystem super super accessible we were able to tap all of these defy and we wanted to do something a little bit different instead of allowing you to stake and get rewards from your steak we introduced a new concept called creative staking and it involved three different parties and uh the first one was you the staker the second was the pool and the third is a creative artist so when you stake in uh the universe if you decide to stake in your own land basically what would happen is that the rewards and api apy would go to an artist in the metaverse and that artist would then come to your land every day that they get the rewards and build a little more on your metaverse build the building up a little bit more build uh put art projects on your metaverse and in doing so you not only support artists with your rewards and they can earn valuable crypto but also you end up with a really exciting nft that's worth more your land grows in value so i'm really excited that we were able to access all of the defy that nir has to offer because octopus helps us engage with entities like ref finance and owen finance and um and skyward so with near an octopus you're able to bring together all of these awesome things for games and complicated smart contracts thank you guys for listening i will open it up to any questions if people have a question about what we were talking about but other than that i really appreciate your time okay sure all right uh i see a question in the back uh give me just one moment to squeeze by here and uh yeah so first off thank you yes indeed and i saw a hand raised where did you go amazing hello uh so i was wondering what are the like the building tools like are are you using like voxels so would i be able to import things from like magic of voxel like uh because i'm like a metaverse architect so that's something i'm super interested in and i love near so obviously anywhere i can yeah anywhere i can expand in like metaverse i'm down but how how is the building in it how is the building william what are the tools uh well um yeah okay so we have a few awesome ways that we can build this specific metaverse is based off of a voxel world similar to minecraft so you can actually build in the world the way that you would in minecraft by placing blocks choosing which ones you want to do and you can also import in any any objects that work in minecraft but we're also building out a multi-metaverse with the use of portals so you'll be able to move in and out of different game sessions some of them will be built in unity godot unreal as well as roblox fortnite and other very popular games what we're trying to do is we're trying to be exciting and actionable to these web 2 gamers and then bring on the game chain the game chain and the near d5 to really attract them into web 3 with a game that they know they already have great skills at um i also would love to talk because our metaverses is totally designed to empower architects and artists like you that's the only reason why we're doing this that's why 20 of all land cells go into the artists guild that's why we introduce creative staking to make sure that the artists are in the economic stack because we believe that there should never be a starving artist artists should be uh cherished and and heralded right like we shouldn't have to hunt all the time sometimes drawing on the cave could be the art that starts the artifact um amazing and maybe we have uh let's see how can people get a hold of you so like you know where uh you know what's his next step what's my next step absolutely yeah i'm super easy to find um my name is william bear william madrici and um i'm blockchain broke on twitter uh started out broke uh love blockchain i think it's an oxymoron i'm also a blockchain broker because i did a real estate brokerage on instagram and telegram so i definitely respond to our dms especially if you're putting something in about web 3 always catches my eye love talking about near protocol it's one of my favorite chains but i'm not a maxi i believe in a multi-chain future and i love talking metaversus so please reach out uh one last question up front and uh coming over to ask you right now thank you so much um so i know we can find you in miami for sure yeah um and so my question is uh what do you what is your perception on the future being multi-chain but maybe not cross-chain just yet or how do you how do you how do you see that coming in developing i mean i would say the um the go to market strategy for our metaverse is a multi-metaverse system connected through portals and that's kind of how i would see blockchain is that it would be a multi-change future connected through bridges right um people the amazing people at octopus network we recently built an ibc bridge from cosmos to near and we love to connect different things right now we're talking to harmony trying to figure out some more more connections because we do believe in a multi-chain future and we believe that our assets are only more valuable if the users and the people can use it wherever they want to be right so um we love to support that and i think octopus networks as well is already building a lot of bridges to help support a multi-chain future and that's how we're approaching it well william thank you so much for uh building all this for sharing what you're doing we all look forward to connecting and uh thanks again thank you denver take care guys
