[Music] okay so up next we have Josh who's doing a collective community kind of interactive exercise which is really fun take it away Josh okay thanks Rhys hey everybody so what we're gonna do just like we did last year who remembers I was up here with my partner just last year and we did like a coherence building little 10 minute thing so not too many okay cool so we're gonna invest just about like 10 minutes seeing if we can amplify the amount of camaraderie that we feel together as an eighth Denver community heading into this amazing weekend so does that sound like an okay investment of 10 minutes people cool all right and you might come away with a couple of new tools for how to make connections quickly and easily so good and you might actually bonus make a couple new connections along the way so let's do all that for about 10 minutes okay so first thing we want to do is just establish a little signal for when it's time for you to stop talking because this is going to be an interactive exercise you're gonna stop talking and pay attention to the next thing so that signal is okay it's a little bit like wrap it up alright so if you guys are talking to your partners in this exercise and you're like yeah yeah blah blah blah blah blah yap yap yap-yap and there you go you hear that and you just pay attention because we've got a lot to get through tonight and we want to keep it moving even if you're kind of like in the middle of a sentence so that's the idea sound good all right cool so the first thing is to actually silently and without needing to start a conversation with this person right now grab a partner this could be somebody next to you in front of you behind you it could be somebody in your general affinity vicinity try to avoid threesomes by actually really finding a partner this won't take very long it's worthwhile and I'm talking to you if you're watching upstairs or on the sides or whatever so just grab a partner okay everybody got one you can raise your hand if you don't have a partner and join up with somebody who has their hand raised okay so some hands raised okay all right so partners sorted and what's gonna happen is that you're each going to complete a couple of prompts so that you can share and get to know one another a little bit okay and they're gonna go by quick it's just like 45 seconds each that you're gonna share with each other okay yeah and the invitation is to reveal yourself maybe a little bit like you have an opportunity to be known by this person who's across from you and maybe lean in to the edges of your comfort zone by thinking about sharing something that you might not ordinarily share that's my invitation to you is to take a little bit of a risk and see what happens okay so the person with the shorter hair in your pair is going to go first and you're going to complete the following prompt over the course of 45 seconds okay and then you guys are going to switch on your own and after the full 90 I'll give you the and then you'll pay attention to the next thing so shorter hair the first prompt is what brings me to Denver is okay shorter hair 45 seconds and go ahead what brings me to eat Denver is and switch if you haven't switched longer hair is now sharing ten more seconds and wrap it up okay good all right the next prompt same partner you stay with your same partner and this time the longer haired partner is going to start right and this prompt is a little bit more of a personal reveal this one is if you really knew me you would know so what's something about you that somebody might know if they knew you well so there's an opportunity to get a little bit more personal with the same partner the longer haired person 45 seconds if you really knew me you would know go ahead and switch if you haven't switched the shorter haired person is now sharing about ten seconds okay all right how's that going so far good we having fun with that yeah all right yeah good okay so check it out all right so now this crazy thing is gonna happen where your pair is going to merge with another twosome that's near you guys so that might seem a little chaotic but just grab another twosome so you begin behind you in front of you to the sides whatever I know it's crazy nice and silently okay try to avoid having fives and sixes but do what you can you can raise your hands if you need it to some yeah couple over there that would be great yep join up with those folks okay give you a few more seconds to get in position all right check it out okay so now what's gonna happen is if you have the darkest colored shirt within your foursome check it out maybe that's you okay maybe you raise your hand or whatever even the darkest color sure make sure they know you're okay if you have the darkest colored shirt what you're gonna do is introduce your partner to these new folks based on something you heard them say so what do you want these new people to know about your partner based on what you heard okay take about 45 seconds dark shirts introduce your partner go ahead [Music] ten seconds okay and now now if you have the darker shirt within the other pair you are now going to do the same thing so what do you want these new people to know about your partner darker shirt from the other pair go ahead and begin about 45 seconds two more all right about ten seconds and is it too loud okay what's a little loud all right so now the lighter shirt from the first pair your turn introduce your partner go ahead ten seconds and the last person switch if you haven't switched to the lighter shirt from the second pair your turn go ahead ten seconds and let's wrap it up there wrap it up okay everybody see if you can give some kind of sign of acknowledgment to your group maybe like a four-way high-five or something like that and return to your seats so anybody feel a little bit more connected or cohered with this community than you did about ten minutes ago good yeah nice all right good that's what we're going for you can use these prompts let's let's bring it back let's bring it on in you can use these prompts throughout the weekend like you can ask people like what brings you to Youth Denver you can ask people if I really knew you what would I know yeah and if I could be helpful to you in any way in the areas of culture leadership communication this weekend or otherwise my info is up there Josh M's ml on just about every channel and I want you guys to enjoy the hackathon the bitola thon enjoy the weekend thank you for your attention and your participation
