this video is proudly brought to you by W jwd with lcks our official sponsors for cohort 11 and this week we'll be talking about metam mask and the metam mask [Applause] SDK we went through uh the front end side of things in web 3 how to integrate uh your smart contract into your front end to create a fully decentralized app and one of the ways of a the a crucial point of doing that is to connect your wallet to your app so that your users can interact with the blockchain right and in previous weeks we've already gone through what a wallet is it's uh uh is a is an interface for handling private keys and enabling users to sign transactions to the blockchain right so one an example is one of the most popular we three wallets used right now is metam mask and metam mask adheres to certain uh ethereum Improvement proposals that's eips that ensure that any user can communicate with your smart contract back end so the two aips that are relevant to wallets that's specifically metam mask EIP 11 193 and EIP 6963 so 11 193 is an older EIP using that method metamask or metal mask and wallet in general have to inject their details into uh the DB using a window. ethereum object right and then you as a developer you can now listen to certain events from your DB uh including when accounts change as when when the user changes accounts uh in the Met mask wallet chain change when a user changes a specific uh Network that the DAP is on uh and then disconnect and connect which are you know uh methods that communicate with a client or a Prov a client uh and then 6960 is an upgrade to that whereby you don't need to use a window ethereum object but the metamask wallet itself announces that it is present in the browser and then your dap will also uh dispatch an event to request the metam mask provider this provider is like a JavaScript object that contains certain details about the wallet including uh the info the uid a special string and uh the icon that the logo [Music] an SDK is a softare development kit that comprises of libraries and tools that enable it develop our be for a specific platform in this case we're referring to the metamask um SDK this SDK helps us to connect to the metamax API which it provides and it also helps us to abstract all of the web three provider methods so that the developer can have a simar next experience when trying to connect with the ethereum blockchain So yeah thank you guys for joining us this week follow like And subscribe for more content like this [Music]
