Michael who you take on meetups not near naked and coming ADA so I have to kick it off by starting here I think it's very funny to see cross people here the response two weeks I felt like years in the block takes place were specifically etherium and put very funny I keep hearing you like TV people and getting excited about all the new possibilities new developers joining solemnly different things and that way it's very price I'm I'm from Cape Town and South Africa and being here getting cochlear is very exciting click I don't forget to share some of the things that I've been busy with so the topic for the day that I'm going to do is something that I call curation markets the other word for the issue with me markets but I felt people misinterpreted what it supposed to eat but means is part of the idea and the subtitle is too far as of those going to and decentralized bands and I thought I'd you just took rather the end I'll give you an example with my creation marks aren't hard works but I thought it's interesting to explain how I've got too much thinking and I've been thinking about this problems for quite a while and it started around 2013 and a pony climb so by the end of it you'll see things like describing things where it said the potential for each subreddit or community having a token the ability to monetize with every open source projects weird things like decentralized bands and then right at the end things like infant new markets such as reinventing things like rare Fitbit cards not sure how many people know about that but I'll also explain later some of it some of the different concepts so about me I found the coin in 2011 this was when the job of Bitcoin library was first launched the media picked it up by saying Google is getting into the blockchain Bitcoin space but it was because my friend was a developer Google who no one seemed to think right plate which is like a developer there like many of the space at that point in time being a computer scientist I found this very fascinating and I went down a rabbit hole like many of us and spend two weeks looking at something and realizing this is not supposed to work and then you can't go to the crowed you go to white paper utilizing this is actually working at it very surprising and it was amazing amazing thing to realize that there's basically something here and that's my time I finished my master's degree in social cymatics in of 2013 and I just kept looking at Bitcoin and keeping an eye on it like many of us we all are tales of not buying enough the right time husband who is this as being a university a bunch of friends we call to my together I think one is about two two or four dollars I've been sort of my punchline together he put it on some exchange but getting money from South Africa these exchanges were very weird at 25 and we kept putting the Bible is such that if we hope it gets old and there's like us been it happen and then at that point you start creating oak like do you want money to party with or be so made the month later man make this kitchen until I finish my marketing search might expose important areas but I did research in information overload which is how people cope giving with too much information on social media sites and I supported for later because I eventually incorporated much of this research into some of these designs but during that time when Bitcoin did inside and it kept being around I decided this Tiffany something year I need to check back in so then I became a Bitcoin developer in 2013 I started building a start-up using Bitcoin and then later on I got deeper into the code I am for doing work on payment channels in Bitcoin and it was a project where you could download the file and we pay for increments of the file being downloaded but at that time it was called you know working with these code bases were very difficult and then at the end of 2013 one of the most interesting things happened that gets sent down like a cascade of thoughts that I still haven't managed you like reads like I still think about it every day is no point right no it's going was this all of this Alcorn was launched as cryptocurrencies with the whole purpose was just to be there's a funny dog and that's the currency and what was interesting about it was that it wasn't a cryptocurrency that any technical new technical things right it was just like is we didn't improve the hashing algorithm didn't improve anything else we just decided we're going to make a quarantine and it's going to be such well much fun if you know it's going to be this funny thing and it picked up and it just people started using it and surprisingly even now we go around and apparently it's almost like a billion dollar market never a minute Ryan says it in your current life in certain this is really fascinating and seeing people using it and I got the good me thinking like but how'd this real realization then does it mean that money itself or the value that we ascribe to something could simply be related to sort of a means network effect like how many people care about something so I wrote a blog post at the end of 2013 and I thought about what if you could extrapolate it to people but what if we could have currencies for every person and said with those whenever there's no clean more other conflicts besides those two means and finally very very big on the net I thought it those how important to strong networking sect and its usefulness parenting is just that right so people use this as a funny thing to connect with other people and their did things like raising money to get the bobsled team to Olympics they got a car into NASCAR it was it's one of those fun things to watch them and I think one of those interesting things that have happened and so I just often this idea everyone will have their own currency I just that idea so try to keep exploring that thing and so obviously being a programmer in hundreds but graduates out there I did the most next logical thing which is the question was can a network effects and all coin the coin represents that in group and that's why those winds exceed right that is what boxer wanted to test because I got stuck in this idea of there being personal currencies I decided when integration or just climbing point right that's the next logical thing right and so I would do this bold it but unfortunately when I launched I said in for the future I hope this idea takes both creating the system or buying another first point would be simple as working foster right and so there you will all these network effects trading against each other but I realized I don't think it makes sense there's too many things here that like open incentives like will be the miners why do they need to get the coin like this some stuff doesn't make sense so I went back there doing board thought okay what how can we do that I think that I can do work in launching off point like this and experiment those hypotheses and that's 20 times so anything available what is just launched near an optimal point so the theory now where you know the developer can keep deploy your when it's open today like there wasn't nothing available such doing you're both being fourth in the club's training really looking at it so if I go back I think about it and then winters weirdly through where I trying to figure out how to do to be safe like all points and Bitcoin before thought it was some idea so I got that and we like to complicated I need something and all types of strong resolution is how it can create these networks of value where different means with different ideas weird things like decentralized and people maybe in cities like different things could have their own tokenized value attached to it if I did a bunch of research and kept asking that question I wrote a bunch of stuff during that time and one of the main reasons why I kept thinking about it because automation is coming like we need more different economic tools so we can work together in the current society we're going to use more and more jobs what is the world going to look like if we don't invent these new systems ways to earn their living then we are the society going to crumble or get worse so how do you allow more music networks to an Associated tokenize value without there being a centralized party involved that was made the third question for me so I wrote a bunch of stuff things like this one was about reaching novelty in online spaces that came from my Master's research where I just basically said hey like when when thousand people discussed an IRC channel Exynos you can't have a quality conversation when there's thousand people in that chat room so maybe you can do some sort of way to put to to introduce some seeds there to make sure that people can keep a conversation going other things was this is a paper I submitted to the Unconquered blockchain workshops similar ideas maybe you could introduce some fees as the conversation as more conversations happen to make sure people can keep keep a conversation going this was very interesting one I think it was very exciting headline but it worked people did rated a lot with multiple organizations creep up organizations like the results came from different angles like one which is how do we build a system so that we can build novel model conversations but also how do you make these directives like who gets to decide where this come from to the gay person or specific institution and this block was the first time I either discussive of it simply you set up the rules and if you read through the rules these persons are minted so is that the era where we can create an organization automatically and it happens just because if you have these rules there people can coordinate and onto specific rules that sounds pretty place but it gets it gets more in depth later and more details and then probably my favorite one was on when she combined into a new idea together and the best time to in their computer conversation with myself and kikis one of my favorite people in space also thinking a lot about the same kind of thing where I make sure you combine the two and that's when I called idea hashtag markets so the concept is when we want to coordinate around common goals a deity there wanting systems to be reliable and single entity and my thinking is that there's a lot of people that think about that we should solve problem eggs and the only way you can get to solving problems they do things like creating the organization in a specific jurisdiction but one of these one of these what if these people are in different countries one of these people are in this apposite world you need to submit like documentation it's hard what if you just have the intent and tomorrow this organization can exist in a global manner like that was one of the questions what I wanted to play something well with the specific hoping it doesn't have to be technical analysis group communication isn't just sponsoring on what's best for the group we share in slideshow so maybe they share funny funny memes in this topic maybe they share a news well right so it can be stated different subtopics and through this in-house to execute in the game to produce normal information you want to participate in legal issues where you know not to consider if you're actually making a security or not and then finally it will be expended to allow not just a few of either in your by token what about other services you can use or even things like reputation as cost to get it or can even recreate Bitcoin with a model like this choosing through support so there's different extensions here and a cool thing is two weeks ago I put up the first code so it's a it's edible as consensus sports trash curation markets and so the first collision smart contracts and has just the most generic version of it which is the believe it's mostly tokens for any something the one you can copy the code deployers and main topic and then it allows you to on its creators and impotent information there's no front in yet so it's very just like developer bare-bones so I want people come and look at the code there's people that have done some bug fixes on there but this specific project is all about thirty percent of my time I'm unsolved motivates each other music music platform so I'm putting this out there because I want people to experiment with this and see if this these economics work because it's full of and question so the great thing is where we ask when we like it here and available we're going to put it out there and let easier for people to do to start experimenting with this so please go to in the air a few years later I think we're on the right path and I hope to see a future where we can both these new networks of value I think it will allow a lot of people to have new process agency and be empowered in new ways and that's curation markets with an exhibition thank you you know what up any questions the way he has a payment structure set up or rather that's good that people join one of these curation market it seems to favor it early adopters as people who find out that first yes and traditionally mavens aren't always the earliest adopters were probably the kind of people that you want to track these curation market so how could you kind of lower the barrier of entry for people to find out about late but are the ideal person for this curation yeah so yeah that's a good question the goal is is that if people think they are good curators for specific topics that I would find in funnel but it's not necessarily the case one of the things that is that I want to do with this thing is is because with more method is to have a creation market or curation market right so it's like we Turtles all the way down financing which would allow it to surface these things before in the right times so you can find them before if you think it's kind of get big then you can join in early and be rewarded proportionally for doing good curation but one of the reasons why I like this this the continuous local model where the community grows and shrinks over time is that it does allow people to get in without having to buy this building from someone else right so if you think this price is reasonable you can just get in you don't go that because in exchange spiders totally right so which result like it loves it loves more people to get in and so you can get in and get out some view through mine and something from this 100 okay so in that way we don't have to realize too much an external infrastructure to do this but it is an open equation that's where the cost curves start coming maybe there's a different curve because currently the curve is just goes like it's linear for the most part and then goes Mitch makes an angel and that exponential into the the thing at the end was mostly for my muscles research which was around like if you added if you add another person to a conversation the amount of conversations increased by the amount of people living so it sort of you have to curtail it at some point but maybe there's been a curse like maybe maybe it should go like this and then you know be more open later on any other questions a lot of very good information I think I got most of it probably hopefully will get most more for the doctor I guess we've noticed a person was up compositionally through one of the other products but also more complex which I understand or not anyway so yeah so third the different project in this case that are trying to talk with some different areas it's sort of one of the describe it's like the attention economy which is like trying to figure out how to make money from just the effort you put in from your attention so basically attention token is one where it's like reassessing the the way the relationship with an advertiser is a user in the publisher works which i think is cool Co experiment and then DeMuth is sort of it is seem that it's very similar prospects with this or ideas and the cooking of oximeter step has their protocol in the wild for a while so they have an opportunity to test some of these assumptions already which is also - the thing to me about Seema that's also an interesting is its concept of like I do things and steaming so that I can get people to come back in and stay in this feedback loop or attract new people let's keep at you but it brings up the question about us you need to get people in to understand what Steve it is and so it's like you got to get the question of license do all the people of Steve because these the people that I want to belong to you like what is and so it's sort of saying that community does develop over time but it's like saying you know who our people are threaded you get the stereotype of what the redditor is in the same way there is your type of what schema user is and so like I feel like you can go a lot more granular and I'm just like a platform little architecture to get people into City bandage like that so that's why it's public but it's not sort of platform based protocols that the other thing year that I focus on as well is actually negative SEMA told me that he's working on similar things on schema where different topics could have tokens as well I'm set up as being this one platform token but you tell likely what do you think where people can can solve these tokens but a lot of these Quraish market ideas for me it's about thinking about the real bottom layer but hamsters are created because at any point in time where you have to get to a point where someone is styling some of these tokens you have to pull a lawyer you have to go to the market be diligent to figure out if this is about Lord or not so I want these tokens to be created without their being centralized parties but that's what Bitcoin in aetherium is like that in itself there's no Bitcoin company giving the points so that was one of the goals to make sure because many things as people agree that it's fair right a pair of making process I have two questions amazing one is talking very simply on to whatever pieces of the room to have our differences ourselves but not almost over what Layton when comes the point debate actually determines which they stuff yes and the second is more tuition market as far as our capsule retiring at the right you are try to form groups that are curating more information and as with the eighth grader they will come to a point where with you know they have a psychological profile and you know they will probably find information and teach research that even through the greatness officer and castles and if there's I want the same success for very long tail of things right so if there's any problem in coordination and we think that injecting the Serpent's in it this sort of you stress response to foreign nation we will hopefully see organization but at how deep that goes I'm not sure it might mean that it limited solves a certain size and it doesn't make sense to mince a token for this chair right here right what vitamin important everyone who gets to sit on the chair reach right sportings but maybe machines wants to do more coordination on a subhuman level like we have high frequency trading no no you can control there but maybe there is ways for machines to coordinate on things like this so maybe there is reasons to go much much much much much lower and I posit the
