so hello everyone I'm put on my jacket right now I was wearing this one at in the morning so Jackie's has been a company in the in the music and rock change space for for quite a while since it's the beginning really so we fully on the band we're going to solve this problem of the music and media industries and namely namely seeing seeing the problem coming from centralization anachronistic technology and can kind of try to foster foster these news technologies in this in this domain by contributing technology where where you can directly link as much as you can the the end users of off of creative content production and consumption so basically creative content producers and and fans or content consumers now in this in this kind of big big agenda obviously the the the best kind of end product that you can imagine is some sort of decentralized YouTube or decent rest Spotify obviously you need to have a component where where you store content and content distribution is linked directly to to to to the two technologies which can handle you know financing and can handle this kind of micro licensing or or paying paying for royalties and therefore you need a whole ecosystem which is decentralized and able to eliminate the middleman or what can come up with with kind of more efficient solutions than currently exists so this this made some very ambitious and as Jack mentioned earlier who set the stage quite nicely for us explaining the problems with with the current models obviously we also had this faced this problem of going to market our answer to this to this dilemma was to kind of isolate the components that can individually be useful in stages so attempt was to was to realize that okay so so so we started at the icinga our product than the meta network which was supposed to have media media copyright and this component is definitely needed in any system which which aspires to to to fuel kind of a license if not for any kind of monetization for current content wise then because you have to respect the current legal situation where where copyright is protected by law and you know licensing needs to needs to respect copyright owners and therefore you need authoritative database basically a global group of view of Rights which when when authoritative people can trust in order to to figure out when when when they license the content who to pay so this this this problem was was meant to be solved by by the main Network which we now rename and we can fear by announce the new name court court as in record and the court to record as in register register copyright owners and and their their creative content and record as in reach consensus over them so have some authoritative database so I scroll down the next side so what what problems we need to solve it is first of all first of all we need to answer the question how do we represent knowledge or information about you know copyright ownership about songs videos etc and and also how this this information can be utilized by by the actual consumer services or clients for example a licensing engine or any kind of higher level application that uses licensing for example the proverbial decentralized on Spotify so what we need to solve for this is obviously to have a way in which we can trust the association of the wallet address and in the particular song for this you need need to verify the identities basically you need to link real world identities to two digital identities this is a problem that a lot of people target to to solve in this block chain space this is seems like a quite simple problem that it's actually not and second of all you need to also need consensus over the accuracy of both copyright ownership claims so basically to to ultimately link digital assets - - to their owners and conversely in each of the lessons to two wallets which can then serve as a and smart content item in the sense that whenever you use a particular content it knows about its licensing with criteria and provides a very transparent and easy way for applications to - to handle royalty payments if they wish law-abiding and then respect these licensing arrangements so what we need to have is basically a global view of Rights or less grave items it's basically attribution database which is definitely a stage that's needed in this process so are we - going to market is to first peer this component and which which is ideally suited for for for the blockchain and and swarm so what we what we gonna use is we basically representing IP information and and also identity information as RDF graphs and this is kind of the representation of solution and and store store these these these these RDF triples representing the claims on swarm and when we was smart contracts to to regulate basically the business process of how how certain conflicting claims are resolved and how how an authoritative view of conflicting information emerges basically giving rise to a group of your friends so how do you do that this is basically the problem of of content curation now the D central storage mechanism which links certain data to to digital identities for example through the etherium service is perfectly well suited to to represent conflicting data in the sense that you can you can have the claims and statements and assertions linked to a particular identity and its own swarm is very cheap to perform the truth so to say so you can you can have just a slightly change version of offer of a knowledge graph and put your put your own opinion in any one little bit that that that your opinion is different from from another source so the point is that it's putting RDF crabs and know just have some swarm is and and and I linking them to identities is a perfect solution to to to represent basically epistemic much modality so basically to represent everyone's view of the truth however how is the real truth emerges from that this is the age-old problem of having a single point single source of truth is is what's actually a useful it sits in the same way as a stage with institutions like the Land Registry they they are useful only if there's only one of them there's a consensus over them so this is the same problem in general this problem is called data curation and there are various ways in which data data curation and and the quality control of the ultimate imaging truth can be incentivized the basic model for that which is used is stokin curated registries it does there's index interesting ways in which you can evolve these ideas and combine token curated registered with with incentivization of not not only incentivizing basically authorities that that you trust and then therefore with your with with people speaking certain tokens they they increase the reputation of certain authorities but at the same time they can indicate the importance or popularity of certain content items and and possibly possibly give we give even a stake and allow various novel ways of monetizing monetize the content creation so it has it has you know far-reaching possibilities this all these models are going to be worked out in the near future and the the the so the the the the notion which I would like to introduce seriously is the notion of a guardian a guardian is basically a an expert and which is which can be an agent any kind of AI were actually a human that using their expert knowledge or any kind of organization and these guardians will basically cover certain topics certain topics are matched to two particular IP statements for example you can never expert on music recording rights in the UK that's a particular organization and by virtue of they having data about such association that's your associations of of identities to to music recording claims in the UK they can require reputation and and the in this central emergent way Guardians will will emerge who who who's decision on on these curated claims will constitute the single source of truth and right now going back to the to the original so so basically we the global view of Rights is is reached with with the help of Guardians and an incentive mechanism baton based on took token curated registries and and obviously as I mentioned before this is the scope of view of Rights or attribution database is ideally the first stepping stone towards a more extensive framework first of all it can it can be used by some licensing engine which you can imagine as a as the backend form for any kind of decentralized content distribution system and and also in the in the domain of of of IP you can also extend it to like trade my three max logos and brands or or patterns like engineering creative works and having this notion of smart content which is which as I as I said this is the idea that you bring in other aspects of the supply chain of of creative content consumption for example in the case of using this central storage you can imagine a streaming service using using like say small and reporting usage statistics which are provable provable using statistics to to the music licensing platform and and and therefore there could be automatic royalty payments initiated and based based on the on the curated authoritative global view of Rights so such a system is extremely powerful because it it it basically brings a lot of this services which which are currently handled by thousand member organization which it can it can actually automate a lot of these processes and therefore it has the promise of of making the cost really low so I kind of intend with this and just introduce my colleague Lucas was going to talk about the the the kind of the UI the the view to this to this underlying network which is currently a prototype stage and he's going to talk about like how you can actually use that what when admin dashboard so to say to this test that could look like
