Without regulation, there is no trust. And without trust, we cannot make those emerging markets become a real opportunity for AI and economic growth. My name is Karma Artas. I'm currently the co-chair of United Nations Advisory Body for Artificial Intelligence and I was the former state secretary of digitalization and AI in the government of Spain. So my take was on the need for global governance of AI because we have a global governance deficit, deficit in inclusiveness, deficit in implementation and deficit in transparency that leads to lack of accountability.
Without regulation, there is no trust. But without trust, we cannot make those emerging markets become a real opportunity for AI and economic growth. I found myself this year being the first time I'm here attending the Abu Dhabi finance week and what I found has been a vibrant ecosystem. I think great ideas together building uh on capitalizing on those ideas to building new economic opportunities. So I think the endosphere is unique and I think governance must be a part of this ecosystem to really make AI work for the good of humanity.
