[Music] hey everyone sorry about that it's hard being a turtle my name is soon the turtle and I am the official mascot of a new blockchain protocol project called tar thank you so much for coming to my TED Talk don't worry try not to Shell Shock you with too much information now before I get into the tar stuff I want to share a little bit of my own personal story and give you some background on if you send a transaction on tar no one can use a block Explorer to see the amount transacted or your balance even though tar is default confidential it still supports the development of fully compliant applications a developer can design their smart contracts in a manner that gives them full visibility of the transaction graph for their tokens for example let's say someone wants to create a Fiat back stable coin on tari and needs to report trans transaction data to a regulator they can do it transactions will still be default confidential peer-to-peer for users of the coin that's still want distribution companies like apple Google and Nintendo know this that's why they charge developers a fortune to build apps for their platform we decided this was the most important problem for
