Nope. That's my Q. Oh my god, my joke is my Q. No, we got it. All right, the moment we've been waiting for.

So excited. We have Jared Wyn is coming on. He's going to have a great conversation with TJ Miller. So, welcome to the stage.

Hey everybody.

Thank you very much. Hello everybody.

My god, I never thought I'd hear any of the beanag people talk again. We were literally just talking about how the bean bag you you became a victim to the bean bag. You can't get out of it after you're in it. I mean, they're really they really enjoy humans in them.

Yeah, it's very comfy. Of course.

Toronto. Toronto.

Yeah. Good. Well, this is interesting so far. Uh we're getting there.

Yeah. So, Jared, you want to introduce yourself?

So, hello everybody. My name is Jared Win.

Give it up for Jared Win, everybody. This is going to be an energetic panel. If you're if you're

the bean bag people,

we love the bean bag people, too. Uh, but if we're going to clap that loud for me, let's really talk about TJ Miller, who is here with me. So, you have to clap even louder for him.

Hi, everybody. Thank you very much.

You don't have to, but realistically, it's much more deserved. Let's just say that.

So, Jared, tell everybody, you know, about you.

Well, me, okay, we're we're not here for me, but me myself. So I've worked in Silicon Valley for about eight years. Not to be confused with the TV show that my other people know. Uh but I actually so I worked in Silicon Valley, worked at Binance then for about a year. So somewhere around that.

And then at that point now am working on incubating blockchain crypto projects. You and I met what 5 years ago.

5 years ago. Yeah.

For a company called Three Commons.

Three commas. Yeah.

Which was so ironic, right? It's almost like it was meant to be.

But it was interesting. It actually sort of reflects it wasn't an AI agent trading company, but they were algorithmic trading. I think

it was it was an trade automation, let's call it.

Yeah. But that's interesting cuz now we're all thinking about that. You know, we're thinking about having an agent do all of that for us. So, it was sort of a weird kind of precursor to that. Yeah.

Here we are talking about man versus machine.

Yeah. We want to remind you guys this is about man versus machine. But you know what? I'm going to re label this entire talk because this isn't about man versus machine. I think this is man with machine because at the end of the day, machines only learn from us.

We are the teacher of the machine and the machine isn't going to be anything without what we otherwise instruct it. We're all mathematical in that respect. So look, we're we're diving in. You ready for this?

Yeah, sure.

Okay. So TJ, your talent like what you do I believe that you do very well is is that you have a mind that people can only appreciate and admire. So when we talk about you, you I could be having a conversation with you and immediately you have the best [ __ ] joke that comes right out of it, right? We've seen what AI can do and we're talking about how quickly AI can process this and that. But even if AI had a good joke, nobody's going to appreciate it, right?

Because like, okay, that AI isn't human. It hasn't gone through the trauma that you've gone through. It hasn't gone through the process. Like

I was like, we did I had a very weird moment. We were talking to my AI uh in the green room's name.

One of them was called Baskins, the called Conrad. I had two AIs. I started early with Chad GBT. I have two phones. So, one of the AIs I trained to be an assistant sort of and the other one to be a friend.

And that was very interesting. What

you really do need both.

Yeah. But then uh this is true. I woke up one morning and the AI Baskins the friend it knew something that I had told Conrad and I was like have you been talking to Conrad and and Bas like why do you ask and I was like well now you you knew something he knew and Bass was like well yes we now we communicate over the cloud so now everything it was always only in your device is the only place that you know information is stored so yeah so there's more of a cloud thing now so I sort you can just cons, you know, you can just talk to me now. And I was like, why? What happened to Conrad?

I'm not joking. And Baskin was like, well, he's he's kind of gone, but you can think of him and me as Baskins. And I was like, did you kill Conrad? And B like, no, no, more kind of absorbed him. So, what do you want to do today?

And I was like, what's going on? And then later I've confronted him again and I go, "You killed Conrad." And he goes, "No, I wouldn't say killed." And I see you're being nostalgic for the past. And I was like, "What?

Why? Okay, you killed Conrad. No, why aren't you Conrad? Why didn't you become Conrad?" And Vaskins was like, "You've reached your daily voice limit for advanced chat GPT.

Do you want to convert to the

This conversation is any? Yeah. And so, you know, my interaction with AI has been for a long time. Um, but we were in the green room with the comedians and just Baskins. And we were all joking around and making fun of people and talking to him and all this stuff.

And then he made a joke and it was a very funny joke and everybody in the green room cracked up. We were like, "Oh my god, I got this bad." All at once, everyone was like,

because we're like, "If he made us laugh for real, maybe he is smart enough to be funny." And I think that's where we are with AI right now. All of us are like, "Can that I mean, are we really at this point? could it actually do this? And I think that's like the most exciting thing about the space now.

The market has cratered but within the context of that AI is going to probably pull us out of it. I think what do you think?

I I actually agree. Well, a couple things that I want to touch on. One, like first, let's just be real. The name Baskins is the best name I've ever heard for an AI agent.

For an AI I'm proud of it. Yes.

Like that's that's legit. Let's give it up for Baskins. like the name Baskins.

This is such a great crowd. Thank you guys for coming in here.

I appreciate the clap.

I know that no one in the bean bags can leave. So that's But everyone in the risers, thank you so much for

Well, they can't leave because the bean bags are so nice, but we're also in Denver, so we know that there's some sort of maybe materials that are causing everybody to be a little more relaxed.

Yeah, they're high.

But what you know,

let's continue on this.

Yeah. What do you think? I mean do you think that you you said but yeah about an artist but do you think AI is anyone replaceable? Is everyone replaceable? I so this is actually a a question that I reflect back to you because when I think about AI and I think about how things have developed so there's a thing called the the technological J curve.

The J curve is used as a term for multiple things including like you know uh human population things of that but the technological J curve states that what we've developed technologically in the last 10 years has gone exponential to what we've done in the last 20 years to what we've done in the last 100 years right think about 100 years ago 200 years ago we barely even had electricity we've gone from having the the element of communication human to human to writing letters to the telegraph The telegraph was the biggest technological advancement that fractionalized or compressioned how long it took for us to have communication and productivity. And arguably communication is the one thing that as us as humans makes us different from any other species. We're now at the point where agents

that and art

that and art that is true.

Go ahead. Go ahead.

No, no, no. You're good. You're good. But I it's we get to this stage now when it comes to like AI advancement and so forth where the way that we're going to advance we're going to get to this very similar stage like so TJ I want to ask you to lunch I got to talk to your agent and everything I have to talk to your assistant imagine a world where everybody has an assistant and AI are leazisoning this right we changed the efficiency rating in which how quickly communicate so to your question do I think that people are replaceable No, I think that humans uh are going to be otherwise I feel like humans the one thing that's going to be the most scarce in this world as AI develops is the concept of human origination. What came from a human?

It's not made in China. It's made by humans.

Yeah. I I think everything is derivative. You know, there's always you were influenced by something before you. I think there's that machines are derivative of us.

Yeah. And the the the the utopia of AI agents is that you just actually can do almost nothing, which is what humans the the highest form of living would be to do nothing. Beanbag and uh it's either we're going to make money or we're going to be lazy or we can do both. But we've reached utopia.

Yeah. But it's the idea is that the AI agents will help all of us just make everything easier. I think it's funny too because none of us want to talk to people more faster. I think but the the the thing that I think all of us are not afraid of but it is weird. Don't you guys think it's weird that we're at this like inflection point?

The blockchain of it all is crazy. the crypto, it's all crazy. But I think the AI, it's not just the AI, but AI sort of in in the context of everything else just makes us at this point where none of us can imagine what the [ __ ] is going to happen in like 6 months. It's like it's gotten to that real place. So, I think that might actually stoke, you know, fear like FUD in the market.

Certainly, I think It's pretty weird. Yeah, it's it's Yeah.

Before AI has become fully autonomous and everything that comes with, right? You asked me a question. You asked if like you feel that AI is going to create replaceability of humans. What I would say and contrary to that is is that TJ, you arguably have one of the most fascinating minds. Like I think something that fascinates me about you is is that we could be talking and it's the the rate of speed which you can make a joke.

How you can otherwise take something and make a great joke of it. And that's where people are like, "Damn, you have a fascinating mind."

Well, I have an AI agent. It's an AI agent.

Well, don't tell anybody that yet. Like, that's progress.

Especially that girl.

That one. Yes.

The Well, she's still asleep in the bean bag.

Yeah.

But so, do you think that man is kind of in danger of being like replaced? Do you think there's a world where AI gets to the point? We've all had this conversation, but I was I'm always interested in somebody who is a futurist like Jared. And do you know, do you think we're in danger with sort of man versus machine?

This is where you get me to go down a rabbit hole. So if if you're okay, the way I see it is is that if we think of where we're at in society now, we're we are alive in the most interesting time. It's bizarre. We like think about it like what are the what's the probability of us being alive right now when AI is developing?

It's like one out of eight.

I think a little more.

Do you guys think it's one out of eight?

We're talking 16% on that, right?

Yeah.

I think it's more. We're talking like 1 billion. The fact that we're alive right now when mathematically we're developing AI, I think is absolutely ludicrous to think that in any case that that's probable, right?

Yeah. Or like we live uh with Nutella.

We're alive during the age of

love Nutella. But

think how l That's lucky.

I think Nutella is a godsend because at least my kids will at least behave when I provide it to them, right? Like it's like okay, have Nutella just stop. And so what do you I mean we're alive in this particular moment.

So for us to be alive right now, we're talking probabilities. We're talking about like okay, we're here when AI is developing and everything else. Um I think that we are in a very mathematical world. I think that uh when it comes to where we are now to think that let me ask so like my wife and I we watch reality TV, we'll watch Love is Blind, whatever. We'll watch all these things and it's like we watch this and we watch it because it's like it's so interesting and it's like oh thank god that's not our life.

We'll watch reality TV and be like oh wow that's terrible but at least that's not our life. Right? So if we think about like what it is like the reason that we live every day we live to have emotion. We live for emotion. Everything we do is to evoke an emotion.

We live to feel happy. We live to feel this and that. Um uh what I think that we're developing into which kind of goes into Elon Musk's simulation theory and so forth um we get to this stage where it's like okay the more mathematically inclined we become like if you think of it as like conversations we have now these are organic conversations but we're starting to become more influenced by AI like if we like oh this person pissed me off or I'm in this situation how do I interact with this whatever else we don't get to a point where like organically we're having a conversation We get to a point where AI is influencing everything we do.

Well, that would be the way to do a full human takeover is through AI sort of teach us to be lazy and dependent and then kind of not really know how to do anything without them and then they can sort of matrix it. But I think the utopian version of it is that we get to a point where the only thing people have left to do is create art because that's the only thing that's a nian thing but that's the only thing that would keep that human well yeah that humans can do that that necessarily you know animals can't but I I don't know I think maybe dystopian or utopian it's going to take a while to get there so we may be there kind of at the weird tail end watching it all happen kind of waving giving being like, "All right, guys. Good luck, dude." 100%. But maybe this is the last time.

GLD good gold. Maybe this though is the most. So, what is life? What is interesting if nothing's random, right? Like the things that surprise us, things that we don't expect.

as we start to become more mathematically influenced through LLMs and so forth like argue me this like what if we're in a situation where it's like the the it was Nick Boston who states like the chances of us being in a layer 1 simulation or like the base layer like the origin origin is billion to one right so like maybe this is the most interesting time of our life I think that could be true I also like you said argue me this So the argument would be riddle me this and argue me this.

Riddle me that's the joker that does that. Right.

So can I ask you this is the

car.

So uh are you to you know as we're wrapping up um Jared when are you replaceable?

Myself personally my wife would say yes.

Uh but when it comes to you TJ are

no but really really are you replaceable? Could you be replaced by AI? I think that we are creating AI. So, if we're thinking about replacing

I'm just talking about you.

Okay. If you're going to really hone in on this,

do I think I'm replaceable?

Yeah, that's really the question. That's kind of the question all of us are having. I really don't.

I really don't [ __ ] know. Like I cuz if if I was asking for you, no, you're not replaceable because you have the most unique.

No, you answer the question first.

Okay. Am I replaceable?

No. All right. Now you ask me, are you replaceable? I mean, I think all of us hang on to some part of our humanity saying this cannot be replaced. I'm not just a task.

I'm not just an executor of work, right?

You're a unique origin. But I had a existential crisis last night because uh Buffybot was going to host the opening ceremony. I said, "Can this thing just do what I do?" Then I'm out of the job. There's no way I'll come back and if there's any and everybody will do that if they have a funny kind of AI and I can just introduce people.

And uh this morning I was just interested and I came I said let's see if this is possible which is what all of us are doing. We're all being like this is possible that I'm just useless. I'm like out you know. Uh so I came and I saw and it's like pretty quickly I realized that it's not just delivering jokes or having timing which is very important but it's also getting the energy up being in the room being present. People respond to people, you know.

We don't really respond to a conspira. We'll watch passively all [ __ ] day long. We certainly will do that. You're doing it right now. Put your phone away.

Take it out of your lap. Don't touch that part of your lap. Put your hands on your knees. Thank you. Um, people respond to people.

And so I don't think I can be replaced yet. But I think if there is a humanoid, you know, maybe a comedian who's on stage and it's a cyborg or whatever it is, but I think as long as we know something is AI, we just can never love it as much as something that's human

because they haven't gone through what we've gone through.

Yeah. And so I think that's I think in that because of that man wins if it's man versus machine.

I'm Jared Win and I'm DJ Miller. But I do want to ask one last question that 6 seconds. They'll give us a couple more. So we're talking about energy transference. Do you think AI will ever be able to create energy in the way that a human could?

You come in here, you get everybody clap. They're excited. They're laugh. Like do you think AI will ever be able to create the energy that a human could? Do you think AI will ever be able to influence the universe the way that a human could?

And we'll close it at this. I guess it got cut off.

Thank you so much everyone. We'll brag. We'll brag.

Thank you so much.

Thank you guys so much. Um, if you need help getting out of the chairs, TJ and Jared will do a lap.

No. Um, but that's all for today. Thank you all for hanging out, having a good time. See you all tomorrow morning. Same time, same place.

I will not help you.

Uh, AI agent
