The Power of the Crowd How AI and Social Are Reshaping Retail Investing

Hi everyone. [snorts] I'm Yoni Asia, co-founder and CEO of it Toro and I wanted to talk about a bit about how AI uh and social are reshaping now the landscape of retail investing across the globe. We founded E Toro 18 years ago with a vision of opening the global markets for everyone to trade and invest in a simple and transparent way. Very proud to have gone public this year on NASDAQ and our customers today have over 20 billion of assets trading on the platform and left 12 months of over $300 million profit on it Toro. Our customers always had access to both capital markets including Abu Dhabi capital markets to buy capital markets.

We were very early on to crypto as well. And the unique part of it Toro is you can automatically copy the top investors on the Toro platform and invest in our smart portfolios which represent different strategies across the globe. And we've done that around the world where we serve customers from 75 different countries regulated in Europe, UK, here in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Australia, and the US. And we've always done that through being at the forefront of technology from being in Bitcoin since 2013 to expanding into more and more crypto assets to now launching onchain non-custodial wallet to understanding the value of tokenization very early on when we wrote the colored coins paper in 2013 and of course very much focused right now on how AI is going to reshape the world of investing and how AI transforms every retail investor into a quantitative investor. On it Toro, the 4,000 popular investors actually get paid when people copy them.

We have here actually in the crowd people who moved to Abu Dhabi as they get paid for people copying them. Two of them actually generate over 25% returns on average. uh yep for more than now 12 years on the platform with an average return of 25% npri again with 25% return on average and they represent talent which is exactly what we were looking for in it Toro I got uh uh in love in capital markets when I was 13 I know that retail investor and the talent eventually is what's driving the ecosystem in it Toro so how Does that connect eventually to AI? How do you connect AI into talent? And AI is nothing today without agency, without people and smart people that actually use the AI to create their ideas and to generate eventually doubledigit returns on the platform.

And at E Toro, we embedded AI in every single part of the company. All of the programmers now programmer uh program with AI. All of the departments, all of the 1500 employees of it Toro have to use AI in their day-to-day. And what we see there that increases significantly productivity and our ability to deliver more products at scale to our customers. But more importantly, what does AI give our customers?

We've launched an AI analyst. So every retail investor today on our platform actually has access to AI that can actually see what's happening in the markets in real time, see your portfolio, see other people's portfolio, and you can ask it a variety of questions. And we're developing AI to actually trade in people's accounts. And we've done that when we started our AI practice back in 2017. We actually used AI to automatically pick the top investors.

Back then it was our machine learning practice and then about two years ago we started realizing when we we can actually create quantitative methodologies internally in it Toro and if you've asked me three four years ago can we develop alpha portfolios long short strategies in it Toro I would say no only the large hedge funds in New York can do those kind of things but the beautiful thing is that with AI basically a firm like it Toro can now become a quantitative trader on behalf of our customers and then our customers with a click of a button can actually invest in a long short portfolio of it Toro that generates alpha above the markets and when we realized that we realized that that AI can not only serve our own purposes but actually AI can serve the purposes of all of our customers and all of our pro-investors and our pro-investors program. So, we've launched the AI analyst which enables you to actually discover, learn, analyze stock, ask what's happening in other people accounts, ask what happened yesterday in the markets that might have impact on my portfolio and how you should actually manage your portfolio. AI is definitely smarter than 99.99% of portfolio managers and financial adviserss out there. So where is our financial analyst going next to actually trade directly in your account as your portfolio manager?

So every single customer of it Toro becomes a quantitative investor as well. And we didn't stop there because we realized throughout the year and things are running so fast uh in AI and so exciting to see it. So I'm a bit of a financial geek. uh I started vibe coding where you actually can without pro uh previous knowledge uh of programming you can actually build apps and build strategies and build complete code examples. So we've created an ecosystem an AI studio and opened it for our pro investors to actually develop applications on top of the e Toro ecosystem and we invited them just about three months ago.

We already saw 200 new apps build on top of the Toro platform. And the beautiful things is these are apps developed by the smartest people in it Toro who've been generating returns over a long period of time in it Toro and they're basically taking their concepts of how they think about the markets. They're building an app that's based in the e Toro app store and then other users can actually use those apps. So we've seen some of our pro investors actually build very nice projects. This is an example of somebody building agents that represent Warren Buffett and other investors.

Then they comment about his portfolio and his track record. We've seen other examples uh where our pro-investors actually created different signals to check what's happening in the markets including some of our pro- investors which actually created and analyzed uh for do I not have the clicker? Oh. Uh that actually created a platform that tracks all of their historical trades and then looks at when are they trading good, bad, what's the timing. He realized that for example he doesn't trade well after he's eating because of the analysis of AI and the beautiful thing is it actually expands the ability to innovate.

So when you take the talent of the people edorro then you provide them the tools to become quantitative traders and in their fingertips basically they have access to technology to the markets to all of the information in it Toro that up until very recently was really reserved to the largest and most sophisticated investors in the world. So we founded it Toro really with a vision of opening the markets for everyone and a belief that retail investors can generate and compound wealth in the markets as they educate themselves. And every time with the use of technology, we're improving and enabling our customers to get more and more access to tools that actually close completely the gap between retail investors and the most sophisticated asset managers in the world. In our view, the future is where retail investors on on digital platforms on it Toro basically become the largest asset managers in the world. So that's a bit of our view on how AI is reshaping financial markets and retail investing on it Toro.
