so hi everyone um this is bubble my name is Joseph we both come from from parallel police it's a crypto hub in Prague and we were working together on the project called birdie thanks to all of you for coming this early to like see what we did thanks for picking up picking us as your first presentation by the way did anyone bring a live bird to the presentation no one because I promised like a payout so I wanted to make sure that there is no no bird inside cool so I will hand over to Mike to YouTube bubble he will start talking about the hardware we will do a live demo then we'll just quickly cover up the backend and contracts off of the project and then we can just discuss and laugh about it okay hi good morning when you I would like to present our our project and just this is completely real this is not like just idea this is not white paper it really works and you can try it on your own in Prague and we would like to show you how we can earn it here iam by feeding birds this is our feeder and how it looks inside like what's what's what you can see on it on the top you can see some batteries which we recharge and which powers the whole thing there is also sonic Explorer which is basically Arduino with Laura you maybe heard of about Laura it's like GSM for IOT so you can send small messages from small devices for a longer distance and on top there is an F Series error which we use for for contact cards where you can register yourself when you feed the birds and now we would like to show you the demo how it works so basically we have Skype Skype set up here in Prague it you can see in Prague it's it's it's awesome earlier today and and this is real it works so as now I would like to ask Eva which is basically she says she's in Prague like thousand miles away and I asked her to the birds for for us and and at late later on that's that Eva and later on we will we will describe what just happened so Eva could you freeze please feed the birds cool awesome thank you cool carry on so she's she's just this is like a real girl a real grind she's like really feeding the birds and now this is this is her this is her NFC card and she's just reading it on the feeder so hopefully the demo gods will be with us and the NFC pickups to pick up the signal oh cool so so thank you very much Eva if hopefully hopefully to it it's all on smooth way and right now I would like to show it's in Safari so and right now you can see that the smart contract was called and basically we did we have made payout pay up so we did make payout so so basically okay okay okay so so it worked AK expected but basically the day you're at the same car two times but basically it worked so basically this is this is like Rio us and the smart contract has been called what did just happen people in local area want to support their birds and they want to make sure that birds are fed so basically people people donate some material and I think we can you can close this down because okay so so basically people donate donate adhere them to the smart contract and when someone wants to feed the birds like the the feeder itself has the website and on the website with meta mask you can register your NFC the serial number of your of your of your NFC card and register it with you with the etherium address so you submit you submit the the serial numbers click the submit and which caused this March contract and it register it and when you when you feed the birds you use the same card he use on the website and basically the the feeder reach the serial number on it and the calls the smart contract and therefore the smart contract knows where to send the UART for he for the third feeding and of course the other part the person who fills the feeder and the smart contract it's called when the bird visits the feeder and there is pair sensors there's motion sensor which triggers where the birds bird is inside and over aura which is as I said it's it's basically it's it's a long long distance radio we call the back end and there is peyten and over Biden and we'll describe how this contract works and what was in a back end cool so the transaction signing happens currently on on the Python back-end we simply like sign abroad TX we we broadcast it over in fira and the this the feeder itself like it's private key says like who is going to to get paid and it's also responsible for loading up the data we call we call the the contract or the Peter calls the contract periodically each hours all sending up the number of birds the wizard to the feeder in in the tower and let me get your next slide and this is this is simple like a simple interface that we have in the contracts it's real simple like there is one open function which is for the UID registering from the website so that's basically the only kind of open one then there is the function change breeder this is what happens when you come over to the breeder to to the feeder and you you swipe your card so the feeder itself it will call this change praetor function and by that it will pay out the amount for black bear each bird that that was it at the feeder and that's well there is there is like a check for like a minimal time of being being a breeder at the time so that's the reason why the second transaction failed because they swipe the same card twice so in order not to broadcast a transaction like unnecessarily the second one tripped then we have the function its rate births simply like calling number of birds each hour and the payout is there also to to make the payouts like very clear not only based on someone else swiping the card and then there is a bunch of like setup functions just for us to kind of play with where the settings yeah well this is really simple contract I don't know like 100 lines of code nothing unusual in there but well we'd like to scale it somehow so well even the first version was considering that we all have more fears so we had split it up into like three separate contracts being interconnected one of which was still simple like a log or a second one was being for each part each single feeder and the third one was kind of like donations and registry registry contract so for now though the whole process works with you IDs and NFC cards or NFC chips later on we would like to open it up just like to to scan a QR code send a transaction if your registered address in order to be able to contribute so why is he written basically what do you think like this project wouldn't be possible without etherium you know there's there's the the card reader can you imagine like how many papers you have to sign when you want to like accept cards for example yours in your store can you imagine like how we are doing this like in the feeder like like this thing is mounted on the feeder and people like people use their payment cards basically this project wouldn't be possible without without cryptocurrencies so I just wanted to encourage you to think how you can where you can use it here iam in subjects where where it wouldn't be possible to use payments before but this project wouldn't be possible without the cerium and I think it's it's it's interesting idea what you can do in your projects or with with it here iam and and come to Prague this really works and it will be available from from from next week you can go there you can register your NFC card on the website you can feed the birds and it actually works so you can you can read your instructions and I think it'll be a really exciting and thank you very much and we will be pleased to answer all your questions thank you before Before we jump to your question it is like a quick follow-up so this is this is our way forward like us first we are going to do an IC o---- obviously because that's the way way to go right afterwards like we will we would like to scale up we just once you build more feeders such as this one and just distribute them over a city so far that the only one is sitting in our co-working space in peril nopales so like it's it's kind of like a trusted environment but we like to see more of those feeders or like any kind of enabled devices like in the zoo or some other co-working spaces we also like to add like more sensors to it like have a camera and and snap every bird that comes over what battle had like a great idea he's actually guarding Oh like the temperature and and better data and he's matching that with the number number of birds that was it at the feeder over time so so he can he can say like what what are the better conditions where the birds are more likely to come over to our feeder yeah then then the next step we would like to do is we would like to transition the designing straight to the Arduino so skipping the the Python backhand just like sign the transaction right away with like a secured private ski under our renew itself and then this is lefteris in the room can see em and we would like to integrate it with siekerka although the proof of location app that that left or is working on so I'll need to catch him later to talk about it yeah now now is there's time for questions yeah as you said you can cheat like if you really want you can cheat you're gonna basically place your card card and put hand inside because it's motion sensor yes right now you can cheat in the future as Joseph said we would like to come right inside so you can use computer vision and check like if the really birds came in so so in that sense yes there is like room for improve improvement and the other question was if yeah but yeah that's that's if we don't we don't check so basically it's like it's like simple motion sensor so there is no way how to have to check it it is well we were like you're playing with the incentive if you don't leave the grains in there like then birds probably won't come so that's the incentive is each model behind that yeah so if that wasn't if that wasn't obvious who are not doing an IC o---- and if you we are we are doing an IOC with it which is Institute of cryptography you're free to grab the stickers over here I have some t-shirts lab so you can ask me for anything thanks for intention and enjoy the rest of the conference
