foreign [Music] it's quite a biased audience that I find myself sitting here and talking to because as I look out here I see friends colleagues I see pretty much the audio office right so all my the employees at audio and companies that we've had supported and brought here to Abu Dhabi so I'm going to try to keep this as short and sweet as possible I know that I'm standing between you and a Gala dinner which I'm told got moved up about half an hour earlier so um first and foremost ladies and gentlemen good afternoon and thank you for inviting me here today uh what a momentous day what a an amazing event to be a part of there has been some significant conversations that have I've just had myself throughout the day which I'm very much appreciative of the adgm uh colleagues and team who have put this together so I uh my name is Abdullah shamsi I lead the Abu Dhabi investment office and we as adio are here to support businesses looking to grow in Abu Dhabi looking to set up shop in Abu Dhabi these are both local businesses as well as International businesses we create private sector-led opportunities commercial opportunities that are sustainable and that has been our mandate since our establishment in 2019 and this is something that we are doubling down on as we're looking to the growth of what the next three years are going to look like so um my focus today for my speech is going to be more around the word Innovation I think you've heard that a lot throughout the day today and it's very important for us because it builds on a fundamental pillar of what audio is trying to achieve which is the ability for us to innovate as an economy we fundamentally are looking for leaders within the Innovation space so many of you are here already today and are going to be here participating throughout the week and what this leadership allows for us to do is to give us the potential to meaningfully create on specific sectors that Abu Dhabi has set its priority on the financial services sector being a large part of that and the large representation of the work that we've been doing against something we call internally our Innovation program which is a two billion Dirham program a approximately 545 million dollar program that we use to be able to not only facilitate the establishment of companies here but also to grow the opportunities here in Abu Dhabi uh allow for me to share with you just a few fundamentals that can maximize the impact of innovation so first by enabling Technologies and Innovation that can in turn enable The Wider ecosystem that's one of our pillars the second is by creating the right environment for Innovation to scale and third by doubling down on the Innovation that can serve people better so that's fundamentally just building off of the conversation that we just had really driving into establishing an ecosystem that can be not only driving for growth but is creating opportunities for future economic multiplier effect so to put this into context Innovation needs to be far-reaching across the economy and Society to be impactful we must do all that we can to encourage and enable the entrepreneurs and businesses in the ecosystem to create value for example having access to transformative technology delivers significant benefits and creates impactful opportunities for smaller businesses we one of the financial services companies that we've attracted in this program and I think they're represented here in the audience is foreign Court capital a leading hedge fund manager specializing in the quantitative trading of alternative markets hailing from London they have established their trading and research operations center right here in Abu Dhabi Global Market their sophisticated mathematical and trading systems and Market leading capabilities are deepening specialty skill sets in Abu Dhabi and expanding the knowledge economy as you all know well Innovation goes beyond encouraging new ideas often the ability to scale depends on creating the right environment for an innovation to be viable only then can we maximize the impact of change let me illustrate my point audio recently supported leading private investment house ardian to establish here I want to highlight the reason why artigan chose to set up in Abu Dhabi they are not part of our Innovation program so they did not receive any financial support instead they prioritize reasons like Abu dhabis find Advanced Financial Services infrastructure the internationally competitive regulatory framework and access to Capital and local talent as reasons for choosing Abu Dhabi in addition adgm's Progressive regulatory framework Abu Dhabi offers companies much more investors like you representing Banks family offices VCS and private Equity houses and more will also benefit from the Emirates extensive research and development support network across the local Abu Dhabi talent and a time zone that is favorable that overlaps with global markets creating the right environment for Innovation to scale is key for audio and Abu Dhabi we are building the foundation for Innovation to thrive as we launch into the next generation of growth Abu Dhabi is a key connector in the global Innovation ecosystem we have put Innovation at the heart of all that what we do so that you can too we look forward to
