Ethereum Swarm - Swarm Beta Event - Welcome notes by Michelle Plur

[Music] do [Music] we are live good evening dear friends and welcome to this exciting swarm event you are witnessing the launch of swarm beta my name is michelle and i will be your host for tonight tonight we mark another milestone in the development of swarm and we'll be one step closer to achieving a free and fair internet the people you will hear from tonight are not just developers or scientists in these challenging times each and every one of them are nothing less than heroes it takes vision and courage to challenge the status quo internet 2.0 seems to be stuck in we are living in a world where you are no longer the user but the product your attention and data is being packaged and sold to the highest bidder who is using this data to influence your behavior and thus who you become you might feel that i'm a bit dramatic for this opening talk but there's a simple and sad truth if you're not paying for the product you are the product that's why i'm so happy to have met the amazing people that make up the swarm team and everybody else working in this decentralized ecosystem they give us the hope that if we band together and use our talent to the fullest we can change this dystopian reality and make technology work for all of us and not only for nasdaq tonight you will hear from swarm team members but also people from the broader ecosystem and the fireworks for tonight are of course provided by the release of swarm beta let me remind you of our swarm orange lounge where you can chat with like-minded people during and after this event you can find this link i hope in the chat here and otherwise we can also show you a qr code later that you can use to scan oh it's already here so if you scan this qr code you will enter our swarm orange launch which is sort of the in crowds of swarm you
