[Music] thank you all for attending uh today and uh this is you know the uh beginers workshop for eth Global New York uh if this is your first eth Global event that you're going to participate in welcome we're happy to have you here uh my name is Rory Arondo I'm the hacker success manager here at eth Global and um basically I one of my main you know jobs responsibilities is to make sure that you all you know feel prepared that you're ready to hack at our event that you have everything you need that you know whatever outcome you want from our event um whether that's you know submitting a project or you maybe getting a job out after this after the event's over or just learning and growing or meeting people and you know taking risks and challenging yourselves and that's kind of what I'm here to uh support at e Global for all of our events um and even outside of the events as well so so yeah so uh I'm going to kind of just go over a few items just admit items and then you know definitely feel free to ask questions you know throughout uh the session uh and I will go back to the chat or try to address them you know as as we uh go along with the session but I will definitely answer them by the end of the the session as well so we'll have try to keep as interactive as possible too um but uh yeah so one thing uh I guess one big thing is that applications are hacker applications are due or they'll be closed today so if you have maybe somebody that you wanted to hack with at the in New York and they haven't applied yet or or or haven't really thought about it or seen it definitely let them know now is the the time to do so before we close the applications today because we won't open them again so uh just making sure that you know whoever you want to work with that they are you know actually going to be uh be hacking present um this is the uh I mean hopefully you've all seen this already but you know this is the uh the eth global dashboard and um when I was one thing that I guess it's really big a common topic that I'll let people address on is this the uh is finding team members and having people join your team and everything so um if you're going here um if you haven't done this already like you know take a look at the dashboard scroll down a bit if you click I agree to my Discord username being shared and click find team members you'll be able to find everybody that's opted in for this as well and you can filter and search by different roles tools everything um and here you see hackers that want to join a team and teams are looking for more members so you know this is a really great uh great way to find you know find other team members and reach out to them as well uh and then actually if you click on uh the Discord here so I don't know if this is already linked up I haven't done this yet so I need to continue in browser um I just type in this your information I need to do this um this will take you actually directly to their um to their profile so I clicked on you know Julio uh M Cruz and then it take me takes me to him so you can send a message to people um add them as friends uh this is just a really quick and easy way to get in touch with with folks who have opted in you know for looking for people that are looking for team members or hackers that want to join a team so uh definitely take advantage of this and if you haven't seen this already we also have this the team formation slides that some people have filled out so basically again this is just more visual way of doing of showing what I just went through on the dashboard um and eventually you know in the future we are aiming to have basically have this team formation s put onto the dashboard so that way everything is sort of on essentially on eth global.com you don't have to worry about you know going to going filling out um the slides here so I'll actually post the link here in the chat so there's that um and then yeah the other thing really is just to making sure that as I mentioned earlier in the beginning like making sure that you know the whoever you want on your team is actually you know has signed up they're they're Stak they're confirmed and everything as well so even if you have people that you've they've already applied maybe they've um but they haven't staked yet definitely make sure that they have that they have um you know stake their eth the 0.05 eth uh there are no warnings that will pop up in case when you're trying to submit a project and people will say or it'll it'll have um they'll let you know that they're you know they're not they're Haven stake yet so uh this is something we want people to be aware of before you know before you sign for project submission um link to the fine team member page yeah yeah so it's on the um so it's the dashboard I'll go ahead and actually just go back on team members and here you go there you go uh let's see there was a quick question uh how are the programming skills are being calculated um uh What uh what exactly do you mean by that like uh like where where is this information coming from and if you want to take yourself off mute to ask you can you can do that as well software experience so I mean this oh I see um I think this should be a field that people that you all enter um in the application um I'll have to double check but uh it should be a part of the application that people you'll provide your your experience level so actually there might be it might be words instead of numbers so this could be a bug um I will take a look at this actually later and double check but it should be based on what you provide in your application so yeah it would be years yeah either years or yeah I think I think it is actually years but I'll double check to make a note of that thank you for pointing that out yeah that's a good point yeah no thank you I think that that column could be more clear so we're try and get it fixed today um and at what point did the teams need to be finalized that's a great question actually so uh teams honestly the teams can can be finalized up until project submission ideally you do it beforehand that way you're not running into issues when you try to submit your project uh but uh you know it's there isn't a particular deadline for for people to to finalize your your team team members on on um on the dashboard so uh yeah there's no there's no there's no deadline but um definitely the early you do it in throughout the weekend the the easier it will be and that way hopefully maybe you don't come across any issues when you it comes time to submit your projects um one other thing too that kind of talks about like team formation and stuff is so we've had a few virtual sessions as well uh we do have if you go to the schedule we do have an actual in-person a virtual session for the Friday evening after after the opening ceremony so if as you can see here there's all the different workshops that'll go on but we have the team formation brainstorming uh session at 9:30 after the opening ceremony we're also gonna we've had a few virtual sessions we're also going to try to schedule another virtual session for probably maybe next Tuesday or Wednesday to give you one more opportunity for people to come together and I uh I I'll take notes you know and provide that information in the Discord I haven't done that from the previous one so that's my apologies on not doing that yet I will do that today uh but basically you know it's opportunity for you all to introduce yourselves to let let people know what your ideas you want to work on and maybe what you're looking for in terms of a a Dev or teammates maybe people looking for designers front end backend uh so that's kind of a way to sort of connect people to one another as well um and then the other thing is uh we do have the cafe that is on the Thursday uh this is another opportunity to to network with uh other other people so this is this is a basically you know from 9 99 to 6: p.m and we have it's basically you know all day team information meaning anybody can come and go as they please if you want to meet up with people that you've met virtually but you haven't met in person yet this would be the perfect venue uh to do so uh it's uh here warw Cafe and it's actually uh pretty close to to the main venue so the main venue is in Chelsea Piers here worthwhile the Cafe New York is here and actually pragma New York is not too far from here as well um I'll I'll talk about pragma New York in a bit and yeah here's the uh the link for for that uh we'll also have uh Alo a partnering with us so they'll there'll be some workshops uh that will be going on from them as well and also some independent uh mentors that will be will be there throughout the day as well to offer any guidance or assistance or answer any questions that you might have um and you know this is definitely come and go as you please uh there'll be you know free food pastries and coffee drinks uh you know like a typical Cafe we basically booked out this Cafe for you all to uh to participate in um but usually in the past cafes you know we it's it's very natural and organic for people just just come together form teams share ideas and kind of just you know chitchat talk about what they're wanting to work on and everything um and then the other event that happens the same day and just down the road is uh is pragma New York so uh as hackers you all do get 50% you know discounted tickets for for pragman New York um and these are you some speakers are that are happen that will be participating um and the schedule everything starts at noon actually so and it's at 7 so you can you know again come and go as you please and it's not that far from from uh from Cafe New York as well uh giving an error ah okay that's let me make a note of that thank you for pointing that out Mila I think is how I proun your name ah okay if it yeah if you refresh it it should work um even if it doesn't that's still probably we'll probably I'll bring that up with engineering just in case too because ideally we don't have to refresh it um ah okay uh yeah so that's it this is pragman again and again yeah you know hackers confirm hackers you get a discount um but a lot of really good talks and conversations and there also be you know some food uh and drinks and stuff here as well and again not I think it's a I think pragma and Cafe are about a f minute walk from each other um so but yeah if you're looking for more ideas you know this is definitely a good opportunity to kind of listen to what people are talking about and potentially get ideas for your projects as well so but yeah and these the prag application will still be open so there's no uh there won't be like a a deadline where you have to submit by by a certain date or anything I the sooner the better though but yeah um awesome cool cool so that's that going back I guess to the topic of project ideas as well um if I go all the way over to uh prizes this will take you to all of our different partners that will be partner with us for this event and within each of those they'll have their own specific like the information around their particular prizes or and you know documentation around it around building on top of their Tech stack and maybe what they're looking for or just some ideas to help people uh build build on top of their on top of their protocols as well um so definitely take a look at this and some of them are having also having workshops as well so if you haven't done this already definitely the prizes page is a really good resource for just anything and everything um there is no limit to how many prices partner prices you can apply for so I past experience and recommendation is to just apply to maybe a small handful and that way you're kind of focused and you're not trying to cover a broad spectrum of different uh protocols and prizes that would be you know my suggestion but uh yeah definitely you know have a look have a look at uh the price page because it does have a lot of information valuable information on here and then yeah the workshops again the these are this is more opportunities to you know to get to get project ideas as well so uh Friday hack the main registration hacker the venue opens at 1 pm so you won't be able to get in earlier than 1 pm but then at 2m that's when everything all the workshops start kicking off so there's a ton there be about three different Workshop rooms uh and each room you know would be specific spefic to you whatever it is um most of the workshops I think will be about 20 30 minutes long um but this will be basically going on up until uh dinner which is at 6:30 and then the Opening Ceremonies start at 8 and then you can start hacking at 900 PM so ideally everybody has you know maybe has a good idea what they want to work on they form teams already by 900 P pm and that way you can just hit the ground running you don't have to worry or stress about still finding a team or anything of course we'll you know do what we can to help you um but that's why we're trying to have these more virtual sessions before the event that way you all do have as many opportunities as possible to you know meet with one another and kind of flesh out what you want to work on past experience has shown that any hackers that have have done this have have formed teams and have ideas before the before getting to the venue uh just have a much better experience better time just because they're able to just start building right away they don't have to maybe uh fumble through it you know Friday evening into Saturday morning so of course I mean even if they do have teams and ideas for beforehand that might still happen but you know we definitely want to stress the fact that you know try to try to you know form the teams as as well beforehand and just have a really good idea of what she what the you all want to work on and I keep saying teams like if you want to hack solo that's totally fine as well like that's people do hack solo too so that's not not exactly like a an issue um but then as for team members we the the limit is five team members so that you can't have more than five team members and they have to be confirmed New York hackers as well um and the other thing kind of going on with this is uh we do have the mentors so uh we have several 20 or so Tech mentors to help out uh for the weekend these are a lot of the the mentors here are independent uh some of them are you know with with partner companies but a lot of them are independent they're past hackers uh past or just you know figures within the space that have done contributed a lot in some way and so again you're able to reach out to these to the mentors via Discord or their Twitter they are aware that people will be reaching out to them so don't um they they they expect to receive messages but also they will be walking around the venue as well wearing bright yellow vests um and they're in shifts too so but uh we don't have the the calendars of the shifts yet but um definitely you know they are there to provide support resources and guidance for you all uh you know throughout the throughout the weekend and not just them but also the partners the partners will have Dev rails at their booths too to provide any guidance and resources you will need specifically to their to their Tech Stacks so you that's um you know they they're there for a reason right just so you know don't be afraid or hesitant to ask them you know any specific questions or ask them for help or guidance or anything and these are also hyperlink to their to their Pages as well so easier for you all to to reach out to them um yeah so that's the mentors page and then yeah I guess one thing I uh can go start going to into into the Discord so they'll be a lot of them when they'll be when they're online they'll be in the mentorship help channel so if you haven't already definitely connect to your Discord uh and hacker dashboard that's way everything a lot of communication will happen you know in these channels throughout the weekend if you haven't seen already I mean people are asking questions about you know they going to be showers the facilities uh you know when when when will it open so we'll have all we've I've shared a lot of links in in the information Channel like yesterday we had a what to expect at e Global New York twitter space with a couple of our partners uh so if you haven't listened to that I think definitely give that a re a listen as well because they provided some more project ideas and kind of things that they're working on um that they that think they would be would be really useful uh projects for for hackers to work on as well and I can actually I'll share this link to the chat but yeah this uh I mean the the the the Discord Channel it it's really good uh our server is really good sorts of information for what will happen with for the weekend so it might be a bit annoying like you know with all the the notifications but we're we're doing there doing it so to make sure you all don't miss anything basically um and these these haven't been open yet but a little I guess a little preview we have the partner channels so basically what I showed you in the prizes page this is where the partners will will be to answer your questions on Discord too so if you're you know if you maybe you're can't don't want to get up and walk to them at their booths then you can of course you know message them in their partner channels and they'll be monitoring this as well well but this will be um excuse me this uh these channels won't be open until either later today or early next week so that's probably why you can't see them just yet so so so that's that yeah and I guess you know if if if people if you do have any come into any issues or anything you can also always raise a support ticket as well uh and and then myself Mo probably will be myself that will answer it um and help you out in any way that I can but yeah definitely connect to your hacker dashboard and Discord and to do that you can just go to I'm already connected but if if um you it'll be on the left hand side of your of your dashboard where it like you know connect to Discord and so you'll just do it that way so yeah so that's that's that uh the other thing I want to go over really is the uh project feedback so I kind of mentioned like the partners and the mentors you know they'll be they're all weekend the mentors will be in bright yellow vests they'll be at a mentor station at the venue um we haven't if you scroll down actually there a lot of SP speakers and everything there is a venue map that we currently do have posted on the on the homepage um so as you can see some of these the the the venue will shift a bit after the workshops are done we uh we rearrange some some spaces uh the partners you can see are kind of in one particular area and there would be your all the um there'll be you the hacker they'll be surrounding a hacker table other hacker tables hacker spaces as well and the the mentor Booth hasn't been selected yet but there will be a mentor Booth where you can physically go to the mentors but they'll also be walking around as well to kind of make sure that they're they're just more you know visible and not just confined to a particular table um but yeah if you're curious about what how everything's going to set up definitely take a look at the the the venue map on the on the website as well but um going back to the uh to the schedule so Saturday we do have a project feedback session this is a two-hour session that'll be dedicated to provide you all feedback for your projects this could be anything you know some people they'll share currently what they're working on they'll ask technical questions on how to get help with with their project how to get unblocked um this is just a more formal time but really you can get feedback from your project at all you know throughout the weekend so don't feel that you could you only have to get feedback for your project during this two-hour time slot the mentors will be there the partners will be there um all weekend so uh this this is just a specific opportunity for folks to be able to to get that feedback but definitely you know ask as many questions as possible ask them early that way when it comes time to project submission that you feel you feel in a much better position to to submit your projects and with that I will go to the project page so currently I mean you can't submit your project yet we haven't opened the UI for this but this is where there is some there is some information that you can go ahead and start you know filling out so I mean I just put test test test here is my name but um a lot of this information you can go Ahad and start providing like a short description description your GitHub where you plan to where you plan to to to do everything um and then of course you know we'll have a media upload and everything as well but this is uh this is one one of the big things that people I think come face issues is uh because projects are due and 9:00 am on Sunday so I we definitely encourage you not to wait until last minute to submit your projects um just because you know sometimes there could be issues maybe with the Wi-Fi that day or it gets really slow or you know everybody's trying to at the same time so we certainly don't want we want to minimize that as much as possible um but one thing too is we you do have the option of making a demo video of of course if you're presenting if you're selecting um because there are two tracks if you're selecting top 10 finalists you will present live to judges beginning at 9:30 on Sunday morning but if you're just doing partner prizes then you're you're just presenting to the partners whichever partner prizes you you select um and this will be where the partner booths are at as well but the um the the prices or excuse me the uh the video is optional because we're doing a live live uh demos so the videos will go onto the Showcase page onto your um onto the Showcase page for anybody to see basically so that's why we give people the option if they want to create a video but it's certainly not required so I think some people maybe get a bit mixed up on that like they have to make a video but I mean if you want to make a video I think it's certainly it's it's great it helps but it's certainly not required uh there's a question yeah marus did you have a question yeah uh two questions one relate to this and one yeah I'm I get ask but first question uh so for the select prizes part um would you recommend just like getting that out of the way like the first hour or two of the actual like uh hackathon meaning like um you know submit everything like um let's say make a GitHub repo submit your description on like you know stuff that you prepare I guess beforehand IE like you know project stuff basically yeah yeah I think yeah if you if I mean if you have an idea for what you like maybe what partner you want to work with or what prize you want to to to work with I think yeah if you can get as much like admin stuff project admin stuff that you can get out of the way beforehand I think yeah definitely I would recommend recommend doing that um and but of course you know you are able to you you can make edits up until project submission so don't don't feel that because you started with something that you have to continue with it if you want to change it up or make ages you can certainly uh you know make some edits along the way as well but um but yeah I yeah I would definitely suggest like whatever you're able to do within the UI um because not everything will be open at the same time but whenever you're able to do uh yeah definitely the early you're able to do it um and just get out of the way then yeah the the better you'll be I think sounds good uh second question here real quick um just from your experience from these hackathons the releas would you recommend um getting some sort of like um UI design out of the way VIA figma or anything that before the hackathon or is that recommendation that you would um you know say for everyone here or what do you think about that sort of like for that I would um because I think I mean of course we can't monitor if you you know design something on paper or anything uh so it's a I think yeah that's a good question because I mean I it's technically I guess it's it's it's a design maybe not necessarily code uh so yeah I think anything like that if you're able to to to do beforehand uh yeah I think I think that's fine um it's really what I think what we most concerned about is just the code that it's it's done whenever whenever they look at the repo that it's between you know 900 p.m.
on Friday until 9:00 a.m. on that that Sunday pretty much sounds good um I also oh just thought this right now just the real just last question um would are we allowed to like make the GitHub repo before the hackathon like we don't like um commit any sort of like code but just like get create the repo beforehand more or less just to like get stuff like a to-do list in there more or less for the project and you know our stuff is that allowed or I think that's fine yeah I will I'll double check I've never actually been asked that question um but I'll double check if that's if that's okay sounds good thank you so much yeah no problem thanks for asking sure uh and is Marcus I I'll uh actually if you want to maybe send send me send an email to hello ethg global.com that way I can respond to you um with the with the answer as well all right it sounds good thank you so much and yeah there was a quick question do you know any hacker houses during the event hotel prices are super high in New York City yeah they are high uh I don't actually um I know some people if if you go to like the Discord chat in like New York uh 2023 chat I think uh I'm not sure where but I think people have mentioned it you'd have to scroll to find it or maybe just just ask in the channel um ask ask ask this same exact question and surely somebody uh will will uh has maybe encountered the same exact problem or they they have an answer but uh I would say I just asked in the in the New York 2023 chat um I don't think anybody would be would be you know everybody I think it's quite in the community so I think you should be able to get an answer from from somebody using this um because yeah we don't we I mean I think there's so many I items going on that we it's hard to maybe keep up with uh um what what houses there are what's going on the side just because there's a lot of other events going on in the city at the same time as well with like Masari mainnet and everything um so uh yeah we can't I it's a be quite difficult for us to keep on top top of all of that stuff um but I will say like here is give me a second we do have a um this is a city guide that that we have that we made and I'll go ahead and open it here as well just so people can see actually will it let me do it in notion oh yeah okay cool yeah so this is something that we did make um and it does have some like side events uh that that we have added and if you do maybe know side events that you want to get added then definitely you know go ahead and submit uh you know submit something um but yeah this we try to provide you know bit of bit more information around around the city and everything here as well um okay and yeah so going back to posting that link please oh sorry do you mind posting that link please to that notion oh yeah yeah I just posted it I'll I'll post it again there you go um so yeah so that that was uh I guess let me think kind I got srack a bit um yeah so anyways for project submissions yeah because it's it's said uh do at 9: and then judging at 9:30 um and then the judging yeah if you're doing like if you're doing top 10 finalists and then partners normally people will will do the top 10 finalist uh judging first so that's the actual you know you're presenting live in front of two judges you Mo if you you you kind of you wait in a queue basically and you'll be assigned to different judging rooms um and you'll have you know four minutes of demo three minutes of Q&A and for for two judges and then once that's done then you can go down to to the where the partner partner judging is where the partner booths are and do do their judging and their theirs is done asynchronously so it's not like it's a you know it starts at 9:30 and then it just goes on until ideally everybody you know gets through gets through to to their um do their presentations uh I will say that like polygon maybe some of the bigger Partners a lot of people do apply for their prizes so having to wait in line to to to present to them might take a while um so that's just something to keep in mind we're trying to find a really nice way to to make it work and be as smooth as possible but because we have a pretty tight you know venue space and we have a lot of hackers and uh a lot of people you know will will will definitely interested in maybe a one part Partners particular prizes they they'll just be very popular and just they could be a cue so you could also if some people do you know if that's the case some people will maybe present to the partners first and then they'll go to the to the top 10 finalist queue uh to to wait in line for that and when I say the lines because we have sort of like a green room so this is just making sure that everybody from the team is there you'll be given a um you sort of check in you'll be given like a a little note card that kind of has tips and everything on on what to expect and what to do as well um but uh and then that's how you sort of you're you're assigned to to a room that way as well um so that could be an option too like if you maybe if you're if you want to PL present to the partners first you can totally do that and then just go uh go and present for the uh actual the two live judges um and then if you're selected as top 10 finalists then you present live during the closing ceremony as well so that's everything is basically do live there are that's why I brought up the the media upload and the video because the video is optional um but uh it's you know everything you know when you're presenting to the partners it's live when you're presenting to the two judges is live if you're selected as a top 10 finalist uh then you're presenting live live demo during the uh during the close cling ceremony as well um so I think that was that was it that I wanted to kind of go over for um like project submissions and judging as well and if there's if if you know if people if you're un search about anything like the info center has a lot of information around more the specifics and granular of of um you know around around judging what judges are looking for uh what time everything starts kind of the the flow and operation of things using open source libraries um so yeah I kind of provided a high Lev brief of it but everything that you could possibly imagine is to hear as well tips for a good demo video um again which is optional for Live Events this is a lot of this is kind of also catered towards our online events too um so but don't feel that you have to you know submit a a video so that was that uh I went over I kind of quickly went over the the city guide and the side event um as kind of just more admin stuff um actually one thing I did want to mention is uh if you go to our Twitter and the highlights I'll send this link this will show you past finalist from our events so like this will be the the thir 13 Paris finalists um and you could also you know find them uh with Goal maybe Paris closing to if you if you're looking for an idea for maybe what to expect um in terms of in terms of maybe what the finalists look like what their projects are definitely give this a watch um give these a watch and give the give the give the Twitter you know a read as well um in case you're looking for inspiration or just to see like what exactly do did these teams do in order to become finalists so of course you know we're not not expecting everybody to to try and be finalist or to go for it I mean I think ultimately especially if you're new here I mean I think as long as you're here you're challenging yourself you're if you submit a project if you you know you get to maybe learn a new text act that you hadn't worked with before I I would consider that success at the event um we do have people you know that that come to our a lot of our events all the time and kind of just repeat hackers which is incredible too um but it certainly it can feel intimidating but it's not meant to be intimidating we're meant to work together and really ultimately e Global is about bringing web web two uh you know devs into web 3 and just onboarding more devs into the ethereum space um so but hopefully you know looking through this and maybe watching this will give you a better idea also what to expect in terms of the you know just the projects that people have worked on uh how many hackers will participate in NE e Global New York uh right now I think uh don't we don't have a final number yet because it's usually always a last push at the very end so because today is the last day for the application um you know we expect to receive more applications and then more people that will stake so I don't I think for for Paris we had maybe around 900 hackers and then for here I we'll probably have close maybe to maybe like 8 800 850 um this is a smaller venue than than Paris is so we can't hold that many people um but yeah it it could be around that number but I'm not not entirely sure yet we won't really know until you know maybe until next week until Friday I guess when when everybody's already staked and submitted and everything um but yeah I did and I did post in the uh in the um the Discord about uh last year as well so I mean definitely if you want to really anything everything that we ever do is post it on our YouTube so if you're curious on maybe what happened in New York last year or what the closing ceremony like what the opening ceremony look like definitely definitely you know give these give these videos a quick watch and just kind of see what kind of give you a better idea what what what to expect especially if you're completely new to new to our events um but yeah that was kind of all I think I really wanted to cover um I'm certainly open to answering any more questions you all have um and yeah I mean just to reminder you know we're definitely still looking for you know the me apption for pragma still open um you know the cafe I sent the the link out to the cafe uh definitely you know sign up for that and this come and goes you please only confirmed hackers can attend so if you want to bring friends that maybe are confirmed hackers they won't be let in so just an FYI um there'll be hackers and excuse me and and mentors and then the the partners that that are that are sponsoring the event uh will be there um and I I guess one thing yeah one I I one common question I do get asked is about actually a stake a stake return so um actually let's see it won't be here it'll be in the uh the get started here so yeah this also has kind of more information on what to expect as well in this page but um Bas you know we the registration opens on Friday at 1: p.m.
and then closes at 10 p.m. on Friday just because you know staff has to you know we have to get some rest for the next day um but then it opens again on Saturday from 9:00 am until about noon and then it turns into to help desk so I'll actually be there all day Friday kind of checking in people answering any maybe staking questions or issues people may have um and then uh Saturday I'll be there for half the day as well but ultimately you know you'll be provided a wristband so don't lose it don't lose your wristband don't take it off uh if you do you will not get another one and if you're adamant on getting another one then we will slash your stake this is just because for security reasons we don't want you know anybody giving off their their their wristbands to somebody else who hasn't registered and we can't necessarily vouch for uh from an insurance security perspective so that this is sort of a policy to hope hopefully deter people from from giving the RIS band to other people um so yeah just don't lose it don't take it off consider it like if you're going to a music festival like Co cheller Austin City Limits where you won't be given another wristband you won't be let in type of thing so it's kind of similar in that regard um and then yeah if you're really adamant on trying to get back in then we'll just slash your stake and the stake is 0 what 05 eth and I don't know what that's that equates to right now but it's it's a good amount of money um so yeah just something to keep in mind like we'll if it gets if your wristband gets too tight you know bring it bring it to us we'll cut it off and we'll give you a new one we try not to tie it tie it that typ because it can sometimes it does accidentally you know get pulled in whatever way um but uh yeah you know if that that's the case and just come to us and we'll we we'll cut it off for you and give you another one in that in that manner um and then yeah so then for stake returns like we basically do this um we do this whenever teams submit projects ultimately you know everybody's hacking here to to work on a project right to to to build to learn to grow uh to to meet people um and kind of just test your abilities throughout the course of a weekend so you know don't even if maybe you don't feel proud of your project uh maybe it's not up to your standard or it's just it's I don't know it it it didn't meet your expect doesn't meet your expectations you should still submit it um and and still feel proud of the work that you did uh because we um I mean of course you know if there are issues you can always you know come talk to us at the help desk or or message us but um you know we want to encourage people to build and just you know put something out there you know ship early ship often sort of that mentality um and it's okay I think judge the judges the judges realize that you know if you're if you're here you're present then you you you certainly you're making a massive contribution to to the ecosystem and uh if your project isn't perfect you know that that's fine like who cares right as long as as long as you learn something if you challenge yourself I think that's what really matters um but that's that's I that up because that's how kind of how we look at stake returns we will'll filter by projects that were submitted uh from teams and hackers and so that's kind of how we how we do that um and if you have maybe last minute something comes up and you can't make it anymore then let us know as soon as possible and we can return your stake uh and withdraw your application that way as well um so yeah I mean life happens right so it's not you know if you can't make it for whatever reason then yeah just let us know as soon as possible and and we'll we'll action that right away and then Stakes have returned you know about two to three weeks after the event finished the same with prizes as well so you know during the closing ceremony and opening opening ceremony like definitely don't miss the opening ceremony a lot of information will the cartic will explain that it's quite useful and beneficial for you all so especially if you're new like give it a listen just sit down it's only about an hour or so and he'll go over a lot of information that is really critical to the success for you all at the event and then closing ceremony same thing we have the finalist demos and then the um after that cartic will go through the the prizes for the the partner prizes all of that as well and then talk about when to expect your prizes when to expect your stake Returns what what to expect for next events and everything so both opening and closing ceremonies are pretty critical I think to attend so and they're also a lot of fun as well um but yeah definitely don't miss those uh whenever you do uh arrive um so that now that's everything I wanted to cover um does anybody have any questions or comments concerns uh yeah sha okay thank you um I have a question uh is there a application remit for prizes say it again so uh how many we can how many weend yeah no there there's no limit uh so uh let me go back yeah if you go to if I go to the project um and select prizes so if you're talking for partner prizes there's no limit to how many you can select my recommendation is you focus on a few rather than a lot of them um just because I think I think for you for your sanity it'll be a lot easier to manage and to to work work with work on um but uh but yeah there's technically there's no limit so but yeah I my my suggestion friend from from what I hear from other hackers is just to work on maybe a couple um couple that you really you know feel passionate about or that you I guess that you you know really want to work with and work on um and yeah yeah this meeting is being recorded so yeah it'll be uh it'll be posted on YouTube and I'll share it with in the Discord Channel as well for anybody that couldn't couldn't attend and yeah if you go back to like our other um like we have like yeah it's right here um we have other beginners workshops that were that were um from previous events as well that we have on our YouTube yeah definitely I mean check out the YouTube channel like we've got a lot of information on there um yeah there any other questions hopefully very everybody's excited to uh to attend New York and yeah if you're so worried about maybe accommodation or anything definitely just reach out in the Discord Channel ask ask other hackers and see what other people are doing also matus yeah the the yeah it'll be um it's probably this one I think I'm not going to click on it but uh actually I guess I could yeah there you go miror yeah so that that should whenever this the live stream is done then it should go back to the beginning or I guess on YouTube I think you can go back anyways but yeah um awesome cool cool this one ended earlier than I than I was expecting so cool well yeah if anybody uh if you all have any questions you know definitely send send an email to helloe global.com I answer that email address and you know definitely if you haven't already you know just connect your hacker dashboard to Discord start messaging people find in the find the team Channel um you know if you want to fill this out you know I'll send this again definitely go for it uh we'll have a another session the team formation virtual session next week either probably Tuesday I think so expect a calendar invite from that as well um and uh yeah just don't be uh don't be hesitant to ask questions or get the answers that you need and yeah that's basically all I had to share um I'll stop shareing my screen thank you all for attending and uh yeah hope to see looking forward to seeing you all in New York I guess in about a week week's time so thank you all have a good rest of the day
