[Music] Well, thank you very much for having me on. And uh today we're going to be covering a bit of everything about Hideerira. So for those of you who don't know, Hideira is a layer 1 blockchain. Um we're if you're being pedantic, we're technically not a blockchain. Uh so actually we are a hashgraph.

We use a hashgraph algorithm and uh which is sort of a a DAG. Um and one of the most powerful features about Hideera, so a few things which set sort of Hideera apart from some of the other some of the other chains. Firstly, uh we've got fair ordering. So there's no MEV on Hideera. Uh secondly, all of the prices are fixed in USD.

So uh there's no sort of gas spikes based on on demand. Uh but the final one is is is the amount of different ways that you can actually interact with Hideerira. How many different ways you can develop with it. So we're EVM compatible. If you're an EVM developer, you can use the same sort of uh set of tools that you're familiar with developing on.

But also if you're new to web 3 and you're still getting into it, you're still sort of learning about concepts like gas and some of the more abstract and new things that web 3 offers. Sorry if there's a bit of background noise. Um, yeah, I'm not sure what that was. Uh, the the the uh if you're new to web 3, some of the other things that you can do is you can use the SDKs. Uh, so we've got a really wide set of software developer kits in various different languages.

And that's the first thing that I'm going to dive into. Uh, so I'll share my screen again. And can everyone see my screen at the moment? They should be seeing what's called the uh Hideera Playground. Yeah, amazing.

Thanks, Pascal. Um, so the Hideera Playground, this is really your your one-stop shop for for getting started with Hideerira. Um, you can head over to it at portal.hadiraa.com and uh you'll be able to see this section over here, the playground.

And what it does is it allows you as a developer to experiment with some of the SDKs. Now, we've got more SDKs than what you see here. We've obviously got a JavaScript SDK, Java, uh, and Rust. But actually, there are more SDKs which we also support. So, we have one in Go, Swift, Python.

They're just not added to the, uh, to the Hideera playground yet. Um, but really what this playground is, it's it's it serves two main purposes. Uh, the first purpose is for those of you who are getting started, want to just sort of play around with the software developer kit. We want to sort of do things like, okay, let's let's create an account. Um, let's create a token.

Let's sort of try out all of the different APIs and and functionalities that we have. Uh, it's really great for that. Just great for prototyping, experimenting. And you see you sort of click here on the left it appends the source code and it's very typical and and easy to understand especially for those who maybe don't have so much uh web 3 background but are coming from a more traditional web two background. It's just your classic sort of objects orientated programming.

So here for example create we use the account create transaction. Um, if you go over to the question mark, you can see some of the documentation which gives you a deep dive in terms of all of the methods that that particular class has. So, there's various different types of methods. You can set keys. Uh, and then here, for example, we're creating a token.

Again, like with the accounts, you can go over to the create a token section. Uh, have a look at the documentation and you'll be able to see a deep dive in all of the methods that the create token class has. Now, I will note something. This token here is not an ERC20 token. Um, it's very similar, but it's actually it's sort of it's a native Hideira token, and it has some some operational efficiencies uh which make it a bit more quick and and lower cost than the um than than ERC20s.

Uh but I'm going to cover a bit more detail how it is compatible with the RC20 when we go on to the next section. I just want to quickly execute this transaction over here. Again, this is a very simple flow. We're creating an account. Uh we are uh creating a token.

Let's also add a token airdrop to the mix as well. And in this instance, as you can see, we've got this token airdrop class. Uh we're adding our token transfers. I'm going to remove these two. And we'll just have it where it's going from the account that creates the token, the treasury, and I'm going to transfer it, airdrop it to the new account which we've created up here.

Uh, and I just pass in this account ID over as the receiver. I'll double check that over here. We've got a token create transaction. And yeah, the treasury account is being set as my account ID. Uh, the token ID we pass here.

The token ID has just been been sort of declared earlier. So now if I click execute um insufficient payer balance. Okay, let's top up first. I've run out of H bar. I can go over to the dashboard or I can go to the foret and I can refill my account.

You get 1,000 H bar every single day by um by by by do by using this portal. Um so we go back to the playground and if we click uh oh fortunately it's been wiped. Let's do that really quickly. So we create the account, we will uh create a token and then we'll airdrop the token to this newly created account and I think uh rapidly go through it transfer it to the account ID and click execute. Now I have my 1,00 H bar which is going to be more than enough to actually uh execute that particular transaction or transactions.

And as you can see over here we have uh created our account. We can check the the the the hash scan uh which is sort of Hideera's equivalent to Etherscan. We can see there's been a create account transaction. We've then created our token and we've then aird dropped that token to this new account. Uh and that was all done pretty quickly for for for pretty low cost.

Um, this is one re really highly recommend checking out the playground if you're looking to use the JavaScript SDKs or the uh Rust SDK or the or the Java SDK. Um, and you can use this playground again to to familiarize yourself, create some sort of templ template scripts and just do things quite quickly. But also, if you're an advanced user, where it's also quite powerful is when you know exactly what you need to do. uh you can really just quickly prototype scripts and click click click click click and then just swap out a few variables here and there. So that's something which I quite like to use it for when I'm making tutorials.

Uh it's useful in that particular respect. Um I'm going to quickly highlight the Hideera consensus service before we move on to the contract builder which will showcase Hideera's EVM. Uh but here is something which is also relatively unique about Hideira and definitely enables a lot of potential use cases and that's the consensus service. Um the name is could maybe be better. uh I I'll be honest, but essentially the to sort of put it briefly a the consensus service is a decentralized uh CFKA topic or a decentralized pub sub bus where you can create a topic and then you can submit these arbitrary messages to that topic.

This obviously in this case it defaults to hello HCS but it actually could be maybe a JSON string. Um, maybe you want to do something like, I don't know, I'm gonna sort of spitball here and do name uh, my name Jake. Uh obviously this is still pretty meaningless but uh by creating a topic and then submitting messages to that topic all of these messages have the benefit of of the properties that blockchain and distributed ledger technology bring in that you have immutability timestamped audited logs of a particular event which again could correspond to any any sort of data and uh some use cases where we see this being used quite often often is for things like attestation. Um so for example within the context of AI attestation and data integrities and data integrity is quite a common theme. Um or may may be attesting that this particular uh contract uh a real life contract has been created and and and sort of sent at this particular point in time.

You can obviously hash it and add that hash to the consensus service. Various other things as Well, I mean sustainability uh we see it be used quite often in the sustain sustain sustainability space. Um so that's the consensus service. We also have this schedule service which is also quite interesting. Uh because with the schedule service you can use the SDK to create onchain cron jobs essentially where you use this create schedule transaction.

Um, and you just need to pass in any of these other uh classes that that sort of we were previously showcasing. Maybe it's create a token, maybe it's submit a message to a topic and you can create this onchain schedule where um you specify at what time in the future you want to create this transaction and actually execute it. So various use cases why you might want to use this. Uh one would be if you want to have multiple signatures on a particular transaction and not everybody is able to uh sign it at the same time. You might want to say schedule it and um set an expiration time two months in the future.

Multiple signers can then sign that transaction. You can do things like set wait for expiry where if this is true, it will go and execute at the expiration time. However, uh you can also leave this as false in which case as soon as all of the relevant signers have have signed it, it will execute. So that's quite another another powerful and more advanced tool when it comes to the Hideera ecosystem. Um now like uh like like was mentioned earlier on.

If you do have questions, we'll leave them at the end and we'll answer it all in one. I'm going to quickly whiz through the contract builder which highlights the uh EVM compatibility of Hideira. So, as I was saying earlier, Hideerira is EVM compatible. You can uh totally ignore all of these SDKs and these more web two familiar ways of developing and you can go straight to the EVM ecosystem. And here, for example, your classic ERC20.

Um here we'll uh let let's let's just mint a token. We'll compile it. And this is um this is just going to be deploying a very simple ERC20 token onto Hideira. If I uh pass in the constructor arguments, I'll click on verify and hash scan. So the contract gets verified and we're just deploying it again using your conventional EVM tooling.

And once that's done, we'll head over to the hash scan and we can have a look at the verified contract where like with Ether Scan, you can also experiment and sort of um That's strange. It didn't seem to not sure if that's a bug or odd. Okay. But anyway, we have we have the contract over here. As to why it hasn't verified, I don't know.

Maybe um I'll try it one more time. There we go. Looks like uh just the curse of the of the live live video. But that time we we've we've verified it uh and we can see for example the source code and we can uh uh also interact with it. uh over here uh if we pair our wallet we should be able to yeah in the AI tab we can then actually uh invoke particular functions um so obviously this would be good if you're using metam mask and you want to go down more the EVM route you can quite easily uh set up and connect uh Hideira in your MetaMask account we've got a very very sort of we've got guidance inside of our documentation if you go to EVM developers right at the top add hideera to to meta mask uh for you to get it in there.

Now the final thing that I want to cover um depending on time there is another thing which which I'd like to get into but I also conscious that there's probably a few questions uh is the hybrid approach where you can use um the EVM in conjunction with our native services. Now why would you want to use that? Well, the native services, i.e. the services which you interact with using the SDKs like the JavaScript scripts that we were creating at the beginning of the session, the native service is much more efficient and lower cost and higher throughput than the EVM.

So, for example, our native service can do about 10,000 TPS. Um, we have had at times I mean I I think there was a two-month period about a year ago when we had a really big use case running on Hideera uh where the network was sort of consistently at 5,000 to 7,000 TPS. Um, and that was all running through the native services. Um so by interacting with the native services inside of the smart contract uh you can actually benefit from those higher throughput and and and sort of more demanding requirements that your solution might need. So over here we can see that we've got this system contract the Hadira token service uh which has various um uh which has sort of various functions that map on to the SDKs at the beginning and you can then use a smart contract to for example create tokens.

Um here we've got like a create nonfgeible token. We might want to create a funible token over here. And as you can see, it's just it's calling the um Hideerira token uh create fungeible token function over here. And that again, it's creating a um it's creating a native token under the hood. Uh, another thing which you can do and unfortunately I don't think I can show a demo of it quite here is but we've got we've got good documentation on it is you can actually use these native tokens.

You can treat them as though they are uh ERC tokens. So they have a lot of what we just sort of call ERC equivalents. And if you go over to the tutorials we've got this hybrid series um over here. We've got this hybrid series and uh if we look at some of these examples, we can see that actually we are treating our native tokens that we create natively, we create them using this uh create nonfgeible token uh system contract function, but actually we are when it comes to transferring it, we're transferring it and we're treating it as though it's ERC 721. Um, so for those of you who want to again benefit from the uh high throughput and and and higher uh capabilities that the native service has, but you want to use it inside of existing smart contracts, this is a really nice and and relatively advanced feature, but something which which would be highly recommended, especially if you're looking to to sort of really excel in the in the EVM track, which we have.

Uh so I I I wanted to sort of show that that again it's relatively advanced this hybrid approach. Uh I'm here to support if you do have any questions around this hybrid approach. This is really what we're looking at when it comes to okay how do we uh when when it comes to grading and marking the highest quality submissions those of the those of the submissions who integrate with this native service using the EVM it always scores quite highly. Um cool. So we do have a bit more time.

The other thing which I want to quickly zip through is the Hideerira agent kit. Now you can find that we've got a open-source GitHub repo over here and obviously we've got an MPM package too. Uh so if you go to npm it's just hideira- aent-kit and with the hideira agent kit if you're looking to build an AI uh if you're looking to build an AI solution where you have agents which interact with hideera obviously we highly recommend you use the hideera agent kit because it has uh so much because much of the hideera integration is is already done for you and you're actually able to use it. We've got various third party plugins. So for example, you can use the the meme job plugin which uh is essentially Haderas pump.

comfam. You can use the existing meme job plugin. Uh and also you can use it with various different AI providers. So for example, we've got these um we've got these adapters for the baseli SDK for Eliza OS for lang chain for MCP. So you can use that Hideera agent kit as the foundation to integrate Hideira and AI into any of the tech stacks uh any of the existing AI stacks that you have.

And you can then also create your own plugins. Uh so we have examples of all of this inside of our docs. You can create your own plugins and extend the current functionality with further functionality um by yeah creating your own plugins over here and adding your own plugins in this plug-in array. And that's obviously if you want to build some more custom functionality, maybe you have a smart contract and you want to interact with that smart contract using uh using AI, you probably want to create your own custom plug-in that calls that smart contract and then uses it uh within the context of your application. So check out this this this TypeScript uh folder.

We've got plenty of examples. Uh there's lots and lots of uh uh sort of resources inside of this git repo, inside of our documentation where you can sort of see how to go about creating your own plug-in and then how you actually use it uh inside of the agent kit. Uh again, if you have any questions, we're monitoring Discord and you can of course ask us questions about whatever you want to do. Uh we're going to be here to to help you out. So, without further ado, we've got about seven minutes left.

Uh, I'm happy to take any questions. I'm not sure. We've got a few hopefully questions in the chat. Let me take them up. Cool.

We've got lots of questions. So, yeah, let let's uh let's get straight into it and I'll go through some of these questions from the top. Uh, if you do, again, if you do have questions, please jump in and you can of course ask them. Uh I'm more than happy to to to to take questions which are verbally spoken to. Roland Haye long time we've uh we we met in Davos uh I think three years ago when I I wasn't working at Hideera at the time.

So it's great to great to see you on this Roland. Um we've got two questions from Mo. So the first question, does sponsoring gas fee work on Hideerira? Now it does. So there was a new okay I I'll break it down into two parts because obviously we've got the native service part where um you can sponsor someone else's gas in that what you would do is you take a transaction that they've created and um you take a transaction which they've created they've signed it and then a different account can actually execute it and submit it to the network where they would then pay that fee.

Uh in the case of the EVM, we do have a that there was a Hideera improvement proposal which came out to address uh to address fee sponsorship. I'll have to double check if that's been integrated yet. So let me let me Are you on the Discord, Mo?

Yes. Uh so in the first example that you gave when I am um broadcasting a transaction that is not signed by me is the sender me or the original creator.

So the sender would be uh it doesn't necessarily need to be the original creator. It could be it could be you or it could be him. Um but it doesn't have to be him. It's not necessarily the original person. The original person could just sign a transaction saying, "Uh, yeah, I I I'm going to send five H bar to this account."

He can just sign it totally free. Someone else can then take that transaction and actually broadcast it and execute it. And um if he does it, then he'd be the sender of the transaction. Sorry, he'd be the payer of the transaction. The sender of the HAR would be the one who you've configured to to have the H bar from.

Um, but within the context of of EVM, which I think was probably where your question was at, I'm gonna double check. I I'll put an answer I'll put an answer to that in the Discord. Um, and let me let me write this down just so I don't forget. Uh, but I will get a confirmation regarding that uh in the Discord. And yeah, if you could maybe just put your Discord handle below, Mo, that will mean I can sort of tag you directly.

Uh, seem to have lost my notepad, but that's all right. I'm still going to write it down.

If you want, I can ping you these questions on Discord directly.

Good idea. Yeah. Yeah. So then other people get the the context. That'd be great.

I'm on Discord. I'm I'm Jool. Something like that.

Amazing. Okay, I'm going to go on to the next question. Uh so oh you had a second one didn't you? So the scheduling does this trigger based on if this then that or does it work uh like a cron job where it works without expecting event to trigger it. So it works more like a cron job where you specify the time uh you specify the um well I guess it depends actually.

uh if you say wait for expiry you set that flag that that particular method as true in that case it will just okay you say to execute it at this particular time I'm going to do it then um and if it doesn't if the transaction doesn't have all of the signatures it will fail uh if you have it such that you say wait for expiry false then as soon as all of the relevant signatures are air it will submit it. So in that regard it's a bit more like if this then that but in the other instance when you set that flag to false uh sorry if you set the wait for expiry to true then it just executes on that particular time stamp. Um I'm going to answer Roland's really quickly. So are there other languages of the Hideera agent kit? We are currently building a Python Hideira agent kit, but it's not going to be ready for this ETH global hackathon, unfortunately.

Um, so at the moment, no, it's just JavaScript. Uh, however, um, you could of course create your own agentic tools using uh, let's say the Python version of Langchain. You can create your own tools using our SDK, but it's not going to be quite out of the box as the JavaScript one. Um, I'll zip through I'm just going to look at the

G. Can I trouble you to please take the fifth one?

Yes. Yes, sure. Is there an oracle or similar service to access Hadira data on ETH main chain or base layer 2? That's a good question. Um there's not not I not that I know of.

Uh we do have oracles which don't do what you're asking for. Um and well on the Hideera side we have integration with Pith Supra and uh chain link data feeds. I don't think it's possible. I don't think ETH or or uh or base have oracles to read what's going on in Hideera. However, you maybe could use a bridge to transmit some sort of data from Hideerira over to uh over to Ethereum, let's say, using layer zero or CCIP.

Um might not be what you're looking for. It could be a cool little project to sort of have your own have your own oracle which which pushes that data in. Um but yeah, there's nothing which which I know immediately uh does that. I'm going to go really really quickly for these other few points. So the public RPCs, what's the throttle limit and can we access archive?

Uh the throttle limit that if you go to uh https hashio umio, I think this is I think everything's sort of listed out over there. Uh so it's 100 uh so it's got global rate limit. Yeah, all of the details for the for the for the free one is over there. Um, if you go over to our docs, there are some other free ones. Uh, for example, Hgraph.

Well, I'll drop in the page for the docs which have all of our um all of the RPC videos that you can use because some are hosted by different providers. Uh so if you go to uh RPC um let me just try to drop this in there. JSON RPC relay. Here we go. Voila.

Yeah, there's that. That's got some of the other options as well. Um can I run a node to validation? Does the foundation control of nodes? So uh you can't run a Hideera node.

No, it it's it's not the foundation who controls the node either. It's the governing council. Um, so the governing council is a is a group of at the moment 31 or 32 Fortune 500 companies like Google, IBM, Dell, uh, universities like IIT, Madras, etc. They are the ones who currently run nodes validation. Um, and it's for that reason it's a permission network.

We do have in our road map uh to be permissionless but to be honest it's quite far away. So no you can't run a node. Uh we have a new feature called um block nodes which is slightly different that will you'll be able to run your own block node in the future but that's also not out yet. Pascal I see you've gone off mute. I'm guessing you're going to tell me to to shut up now.

Could I one more question? Is is that right?

Yes. Yes. Yes. So, uh, CryptoVincent asked, could you do a short recap about when to use JavaScript or Solidity? Um, yes, I can.

So, I would say partially it depends on it. It depends on a few different parameters. One, what's your skill set? If you are, if you've just been doing Solidity for the last three years, last four or five years, you've been you you've been totally um uh you've been totally web three pill since Ethereum came out. probably just use just use Solidity.

Um, if you're a bit more new to things and you've already got a lot of JavaScript experience experience or Python experience and you're still getting your head over these web 3 concepts, uh, i.e. you want to do blockchain stuff, but you don't really, uh, know too much about blockchain, then the SDK is the perfect. Um, so th those would be the main sort of things that I go by. So, what's your preference really?

Now, if you do want to have some really programmable decentralized logic, then of course you would want to be using a smart contract there, Solidity, because it's because it it has all of those uh requirements of of programmability and being able to sort of execute in an external environment. Um and and in that case, yeah, you probably want to use Solidity. Uh but and then also if you want to have something which is really really high TPS, uh and doesn't get throttled by the by the EVM, uh then you'd want to use the native services using things like JavaScript. Those are the different sort of parameters at play and I'm happy to be a soundboard for your idea and I can maybe guide you in terms of what might make sense for you. But for this hackathon uh quality is important and and really doing stuff which you which you feel comfortable with would would probably make uh probably be my biggest deciding factor.
