good morning youth denver i'm john palar executive stuart sport dow and the denver event um also have the good fortune of being here with my co-founders this morning we're gonna kick off biddle week everybody ready for this so we actually have a pretty and we're at the art hotel at the biddleweek hub uh just a couple of you know shameless plugs here we've got uh the biddleweek hub sponsored by tallywallet and i'm going to do a little plug for them a little bit later they do have a party coming up but i got to remember the day and time so when i come back i will make sure to remind everybody about that the art hotel is a beautiful space we have multiple venues this year so if you're not able to get into the castle for capacity restraints or whatever come over here we've got a full stage that we'll be running all week and there's like lots of co-working spaces and like places to plug in it's really pretty cool so you guys gonna put me up on here thanks all right okay the year of the way this is the way hashtag right everybody seen that okay well we're going to continue to pull on that string and we're going to talk a little bit about that but gm friends we're all here with our actually a lot of us are like internet buddies right like with our memes and our stupid characters and pfps and things but like we all love it so we're all going to continue to do it uh we're going to shill some buffalo corns a little bit but before we do we're going to talk a little bit about the history culture and ethos of eat denver just to calibrate a little bit the first thing that i will say is this is not a conference everybody know that yes okay so we do not use the word conference here for reasons that are going to become obvious to you now what the hell is it then it is a community innovation festival now why do we make the distinction we make the distinction because it's emergent in nature it's creative in nature it's not about hierarchies and top-down sort of telling you what to do and where to go and how to dress it's come as you are it's build it's create and it's be you so a community innovation festival is something that you get to directly contribute to in a way that's not prescribed for you now biddle is a meme everybody know biddle so biddle was invented here at denver in 2018 it was part of our first social media campaign when we first launched the first event and it became viral everybody knows it now biddle is the meme that we do in the ethereum community as sort of a counterbalance to the huddle meme in the bitcoin community where we say we're going to focus on biddling you guys can hot all your coins all you want okay so moving into the buffalo meme so we've got memes everywhere everybody like memes that's like what we do all day uh so the buffalo mean is really the combination of the strength of the buffalo and the magic of the unicorn so when we say be a buffacorn that means express your own unique inner creativity be you like come and create something build something you do you we don't care what it is nobody cares what it is here there's no shortage of opportunities to collaborate your creativity with the community in a way that's meaningful for you the whole point is building a big tent in a giant in a blank canvas so that you can come and do that now one of the characters of the uh the family here is the buffaway right a lot of people call it the baby yoda buffa corn but we don't call it that because we don't like copyright infringement so we call it the buffague so the buffetway is the smallest unit of account of our community now what does that mean it means start from the bottom start from the grassroots start from the things that the smallest things can become the most important things and that's just where we are this year so we're getting back to basics with the buffett way it's a lot of fun the meme's fun so we just play around with it and then the other cartoon characters these guys all represent something different so the spork whale is a major community uh contributor the buffalo corner is the og or the ob the original buffa corn the pega buffa corn we had uh two years ago was the year of the pega buffa corn the year we take flight last year was the year of the spork marmot which is how we introduced the spork which is by far the most utilitarian tool that you could possibly get everybody got their spork when you checked in yeah i'd like to see you eat your food truck with the spork you know really do that and then sporky is obviously he's coming next year so sporky is uh the representative of the spork token so back to this community of communities so eat denver itself by itself doesn't really exist now what does that mean well it's because without the communities that support it we don't have anything else to put into this so i lead a project called opolis so my day job not that this isn't like a full-time job by itself but my day job is really focused on building decentralized employment our community contributes to this community as does 150 other sponsor communities that have put into this so this isn't about sponsors putting into an event who make a bunch of money and all of that okay this is a community of communities we support the event we support this innovation festival as a community and the positive some game economic model that that is creates value that's rising tide for the entire community and the way that we've organized that we're going to get into just a minute in a second about the um the legal structure of some of this but we're going to we're going to kind of skip for just a second so um lee where are you at so one of the big things about our culture and one of the things that we started from the very beginning is really a focus on diversity and inclusion and it's not just social it's not just cultural it's not just racial it's not just economic it's the totality of diversity so lee is going to introduce us to some of the things that we do well thank you thank you everyone oh it's slipping away from me just like 2022 already hang on there we go oh nope cool all right well i'm excited to be here for east denver 2022 and i have been here since day one working alongside john and justin and making things happen and so this year i'm even more excited about some of the diversity and inclusion initiatives that we have going on and so just from day one it's always been the most diverse web 3 community that has come here to hang out in sports castle um for east denver and so i think that you all can pat yourselves on the back and also the friends who also invited you to come and join us because like we were making things happen here in web 3. we've got free admission we've got free education we've got free swag we are giving away things we are giving away education opportunity meets and greets and just being able to interact with people within the community i think it's so important to keep that in your mind that this is not a conference this is a place to hang out with all the other like-minded vigils that are making waves for us all to ride and set sail on here in web3 community and we've got thousands of dollars worth of scholarships to get people here hundreds of thousands to get people um here to eat denver like we don't want there to be barriers and so as you all continue to spread the good word of what's happening here we can continue to build that so that we can get bigger and bigger and more inclusive as the years goes on as the years go on and then the biggest thing that i want to share with you all here is that our programming is diverse how we see and we are envisioning what we are trying to do like we welcome diversity of thought and so there is so much that is happening here and then you know on on thursday at miura's art gallery there are several different panels with people of different uh cultures backgrounds understandings and we are also trying to educate newcomers to the space and that's all happening on thursday and then we've got some great great i don't know if you heard me great after parties coming for you and it's going to be talented it's going to be wonderful it's going to be it's it's going to be insane like we shouldn't be allowed to do it it's so cool um and then lastly i am black i am trans i use they them pronouns i am queer i am here and i am just one of the mini buffer corns that are going to be walking around here at east denver so be respectful to everyone here share your love share your joy share your prosperity for what you want to happen in web 3 and let's make east denver 2022 great thanks lee so one of the things that uh lee actually forgot to do last slide we got free child care okay so you want to talk about inclusion okay we've eliminated as many economic barriers as we can yeah that's what i'm talking about now we actually don't even care if you bring your kids to the talks or you want to hack with them that's fine so like just make sure you have your underage waiver signed please um but yeah child care will be at the colorado history museum this week and um once again thank you to our partners at nano providing professional child care services this is not something that we put together this is actually a professional service doing this on our behalf it's not in the uh kind of weird building that we used to have for the zen zone no so it's actually in a proper spot now all right so now jumping into the history of sports out on the legal stuff one of the things that a lot of people don't understand or don't even know about is that we migrated e denver to a dao framework a digital cooperative framework last june cool what the does that mean how does that impact me what does that matter okay well spork dao is a what's called a limited cooperative association in colorado that's the legal wrapper but we use a dao framework for governance and for token distribution and things like that so very standard dow things on one end but we have a legal tethering to the state of colorado now if you don't know the state of colorado is the delaware of co-ops if you haven't looked at colorado cooperative law i highly suggest that you do we actually have a group of attorneys here that i've been working with for a couple of years that we've actually innovated a best practices for launching a dow in colorado under this framework so it's pretty cool stuff but as it relates to sport dao who owns it you do so the sport token is the the unit of account that distributes if there is if and when a um some sort of profit or dividend think about it like rei for events right when you buy your skis and your camping gear at the end of the year you get your check it's the same thing for sport deals the more value we create as a community the more value is distributed back to the community and the beautiful thing is because it's colorado co-op there's an exemption for all of this and we don't have to be constrained by over-regulatory burdens we're purely a cooperative effort building this decentralized future together so it's pretty cool stuff now what is the future of all this well we're going to continue to build value for the community we are a dow we're a cooperative or digital cooperative if you prefer that that is going to continue to build value and how we're going to do that we're going to start making investments as a community into the projects that are built here now we've had projects like one inch and pull together and po app and a whole bunch of others that we've been standing on the sidelines for years going well wouldn't that have been cool if we would have put like fifteen thousand dollars into that well as a community we're going to start doing that okay buffa corn ventures that i've got mentioned up here is a community investment dow so that those funds are going to go back into the community via grants and investments that we make into projects that are created this week how cool is that so we create the full circle of value so we contribute creativity we build value and then we reinvest back into the community and make it happen so colorado jam is also mentioned here this is our technology sandbox and incubator that we've got in partnership with the state we actually have russell castenero here he's going to talk about that in just a little while but that in that vehicle will also be invested in by the community and the value that's created there will come back to the community via the sport token cool stuff right okay joshua lepidus is going to come and give us an update on sport token allocation we're going to make this fast this slide is super dense dude all right thanks john well it's it's treasury stuff so of course it's very dense i'm not going to talk about all of it um but there's one thing that i really do need to emphasize um so there are 528 million spork in existence that's the mile high 5280 meme the memes are throughout what we did was we broke them down by year and put them into a few different buckets that you can earn for attending speaking sponsoring buying merch submitting a project stewarding being a vendor 34 of those went to the first four years uh 179 million ish of those tokens and 79 million of them are still available to be claimed um we had some trouble because the first few years uh the collection of data was not perfect in terms of ethereum addresses so we use emails that you use to register but a lot of people use corporate emails and things change very quickly in web3 and you probably don't work for the same place that you worked for in 2018 when you attended ethember so there is a form that you can fill out at sporkdow.org tokens you scroll down to the bottom um if you uh go to edember.linkdrop.io first try your email address try a couple different email addresses because you probably signed up with a different one if none of those work go to that second link fill out the form by march 20 sorry february 27th march 20 it says march but i'm pretty sure it's february well it says march okay so i guess it's march 27th now uh you guys got another month to to claim your tokens any of the tokens that are not claimed are going to be clawed back into the treasury that we'll be able to use for future events cool um that is that is all for for mine yeah anyway so yeah one thing just to mention is that if you have um an old email address that you're pretty sure that you use to register you can go to sportdow.

org tokens there's a form at the very bottom you can fill that out and we can switch the address that we're allowing you to claim on link drop okay so for example if i was at company a and like oh man i have these tokens you just fill out that form with your new address that you can actually use to claim got it okay cool thanks josh uh josh is part of the board of stewards i kind of rolled over that because we have a limited amount of time this morning we're trying to keep this to one hour so apologies if um i did a poor job in introductions um but josh thank you he'll be back up here in just a minute uh so venues games experience buffalo corns okay so we've got a ton of stuff that's really changed so if you've been to eat denver previously you know that the sports castle is kind of where it's at that's like it so bitter week used to be just sort of i don't know half a dozen events that would happen here and there throughout the event throughout the week are kind of leading up um derek's going to talk more about that but we've got like a hundred events on the middleweek schedule that are like happening concurrently to that between now and next thursday but just for kind of giving you the map here we're at the art hotel so we're at 12th and broadway that's where we are right now down the street on the other side of the street is 1134 is approximately the address of broadway so 1134 broadway we're i think 1201 broadway that's where meera's gallery which is an art gallery where we'll have uh i think lee mentioned on thursday there will be some impact and diversity content we have a stage there actually at temple which is uh it doubles as a nightclub and then 1134 is sort of like a speakeasy space it's super cool um down the street you've got jonas on the other side on this the side of the street that we're on right now you've got jonas which is uh the buffalo bittle brigade lounge will be there now during um biddle week the near lounge will be there so you'll be able to go meet with the folks from near um but jonas is super cool and there's going to be some hacker space and some other overflow space there but the buffacorn biddle brigade lounge is a private lounge that you'll have to have your buffacorn pfp in order to get in so one of the pieces of utility for the pfps now the castle across the street is the main venue still we all love and adore and despise the castle actually i don't despise it it's just a really old building and we have a lot of trouble with it for certain reasons but uh the castle is wonderful it's six stories if you haven't been it's a 1927 car showroom for chrysler so there's no stairs it's ramps all the way up and we've got the maker space the art gallery all sorts of stuff over there we're going to kind of rip through some of that and then behind it in years past to the north of the sports castle we've had like our zen zone and child care we're not using that building this year because it's changed ownership but behind the sports castle is another building i think it's um 1001 lincoln which is the green building right here where the zen zone will be so that's where we'll have like our gong baths and all that kind of fun stuff so getting into the virtual opportunities today the virtual castle is open so if you haven't participated in gamergype before one of our partners is creating metaverse spaces for events like this and we've decked this thing out to basically be complete buffer corn sports castle replication so you can log in with your avatar there's all sorts of engagement you can literally video chat with other people that are there so if you walk up you can like talk to each other and chat together you can go dancing as a buffague on the on the on the dance floor you ca it's it's it's like pretty much choose your own adventure there's all sorts of fun stuff so if you're participating virtually come check it out the sponsors will also be in there so they've got sponsor booze i mean we've replicated this down to the t when it comes to like making sure that people have an experience it's actually really fun and engaging all right buffa corn biddle brigade joshua where are you at bud did he that's so funny okay i'm gonna do it then all right so if you haven't minted your buffacorn you're gonna want to do it okay so here's the website right here buffacorn biddlebrigade.com there's only 10 000 of these and we're about halfway sold okay so this is all organic community stuff we didn't do any funny drops or any weird stuff so we've got 244 unique character characteristics that are randomly generated in a with through an algorithm that basically when you mint it the algorithm puts together your character for you and then sends it to you as an nft so if you're familiar with any of the other projects that are like this like board api club it's similar to that but of course we did it with buffalo coins so you've got astronauts you've got zombies you've got cowboys fitness freaks all sorts of stuff that you can randomly mint different combinations of things it's super fun so coming up there's going to be some changes that happen to the buffer corns so there's going to be some new primitives we're going to update some game mechanics to create better incentives there's even going to be breeding and trade swapping so really cool stuff now we also because of our community size we get a lot of people who are wanting to promote their products or give us stuff to give away to our community well guess who's gonna get priority on that stuff our buff corn biddle brigade holders okay so if you hold one of these pfps your address will be dropped things and will make notifications to the community whether it's additional sport tokens or other nfts from other communities or even just you know high value assets that might come your way as i mentioned the private bbb lounge for holders friday through sunday during the main event at jonas so yeah get your get your pfp you're gonna not regret that all right so art nfts and makerspace so we were the first event to ever do an nftr gallery 2018. we were doing this stuff before anybody was even talking about nfts or like what nft erc 720 what like yeah okay so we've been at this a while we have partners from literally all over the world that actually contribute to this now the maker space if you haven't been if you're a tinkerer if you're a builder if you're a creative if you're a burner like come and hang out in the maker space it's super fun and you can build and even compete in the hackathon in the makerspace the dj chill room this year has an nft enabled sound system it's world-class stuff so if you haven't been in the chill room before you'll we have dj's live spinning all weekend that's during the main event and you certainly don't want to miss any of that zen zone as i mentioned we got gong baz and meditation sessions guided yoga also it's all free right so just come and just chill really it's zen out you know just get your inner peace so just as a summary here in addition we have an art auction in conjunction with the nft art gallery and then we have a live art auction at the closing party so there's a difference between closing party and after party lots of parties so after the closing ceremonies on sunday the 20th say about six o'clock there'll be about two and a half hours worth of a closing party that's where we do our colorado food show we do some other things that we typically do and during that event will be a live art auction of high value pieces now if you wanna you'll be able to peruse all of that stuff mint gold dust is hosting that piece of the auction and it's going to be super fun there will be a an ultra rare buffer corn pfp on the auction block as well so if you really want to get a piece of provenance i would check that out all right now i'm done talking for a minute thank god derek you ready so this is derek he's our community steward for ethamer sportdown all right man gm everyone gm everyone all right hi we're weird here my name is derek coleman i am the community steward and i'm really stoked to be here today let's get into it i'm going to go a little quickly because there's a lot i want to tell you let's get oriented where are you when are you what's happening i've been answering these questions in the discord for months check frequently asked questions guys seriously we put it there for a reason um so there's biddle week starts today and runs all the way until february 20th i accepted this position knowing that this event today would start on my birthday that's fine thanks thanks so much what can you expect to see during biddleweek this 11 through the 20th if you forget everything about about to say check the schedule ethember.com schedule we put a lot of effort into categorizing making it easy to filter search for sponsors organizations you love that being said we got open source meetups side events we don't care who's hosting it we put it on our calendar parties in the evening pace yourselves folks 17th through the 20th though we call that the main event over in the castle it opens up some of the stuff i'm going to show you is going on really exciting if you've been you know if you haven't you've heard that's where biddling is going to open up full force and we're going to have a lot of speakers workshops panels in addition to some truly insane artistic installations on the fifth floor run up to the fifth floor when you get in after that we have our mountain retreat that's in breckenridge colorado some rest in relaxation hopefully give you a chance to slow down drink cocoa and actually have a long conversation with some of the friends you've made along the way because i know we're going to be bumping into each other if you can make it out come make it out if you didn't get your bus tickets uh what is middleweek tell you a little bit more about each of those three sections a lot of events like i said check the schedule no side events during the 1819 though we want to give everyone a chance to focus on the jam-packed schedule we do have going on in the castle tunnel vision wide narrow it's a balance we're gonna strike biddleweek get that colorado culture uh any out-of-towners like myself bay area anyone all right let's go um you get to connect with people so maybe some people you've only ever met in dao's online and oh my god that's what you look like that's crazy i had one of those it was pretty fun meet the other biddlers if you don't identify as a builder yet i hope by the end of this you do if you're an illustrator if you're a marketer if you're just an ideas person it obviously takes all kinds it's not just people who code and uh maybe you're already planning to start your project you're looking forward to the bounty information we're gonna give you at 11 o'clock right after this or you don't have a team yet and you're just like i thought i was coming for the fun but now that i think about it i want some of that sweet prize money you can still form teams we're going to tell you about that later during this the main event though i'm just trying to get you a little hyped a little bit of preview we got the blockchain arcade we got the biddling um shout outs to evan trumbull for running the blockade art excuse me the blockchain arcade it's ddr i'll see you out there i can crush a 7-8 footer still high school even though i've put on a little weight we got those presentations the workshops that i mentioned it's a chance to grow if your family asks you came here for what professional development got it for real though we got vitalik we got james young anjali young from collab land we got kevin owaki we got a deep deep roster of people you've heard of and haven't that you're not going to want to miss and even if you can't get into a particular venue at a particular time and you really want to see like for example vitalik speak for those big ones we're going to be live simulcasting them to all the on-site venues what do i mean main stage over in the castle oh i can't get in the castle it's full same time vitalik's being streamed over at jonas so we're gonna try to make the experience cohesive while acknowledging that we're spreading out this urine growing again if you forget everything i just said check the schedule stream links are there just click it watch it real time can't find it afterwards youtube day of we're trying to make it easy for y'all to see what you want and catch up because we know there's too much going on the biddling's the most important part always has been always will be that's why i keep shilling it if you don't identify as a buff corner of bitler yet hopefully by the end of this you will i just like this picture because we got governor uh gerpolis right uh reading b's for buffcorn with uh vitalik to some children who's the should i thank you governor mark gordon also up there with buffy we're gonna have some fun that mountain retreat just to cap it off on this schedule section just come on down deep in those connections we're going to have buffy up there shredding some powder maybe get a video with you and buffy that's nice to show your grandkids let's talk about registration though if you're here in person you made it how was it how was it thumbs up thumbs down good enough crazy right like we're here we're in person in flesh i haven't been to something like this in over two years and we're trying to do it in a safe sane way that accommodates everybody and is inclusive that's why every single person who's getting one of these wristbands or badges is taking one of our free covet tests we're providing those free we're doing it as fast as we can just to make sure we're as close to healthy and safe as we possibly can be regardless of where you're coming from after getting that test you get your badge customize it with the googly eyes we got in that badge lobby speaking obviously not to y'all you're here but to the people checking in get your crypto wallet we got literally metamask team down there to help you out oh why am i going to set that up on my phone oh we're giving you free money for the food trucks that you can buy with crypto that's kind of cool interesting free swag oh thank you i'll grab that shirt that water bottle and last but not least i don't want to steal their thunder too much the wit net networking game every single attendee of this event is going to be a member of one of six ranches pokemon go style where you raise your buffalo coins let's say you make a friend you're like hey it's been really nice talking to you i want your contact info we gamified the hell out of that you scan their qr code their information gets sent to you no problem and whatever traits your ranch is in charge of for example agility wisdom make their buffer corn stronger and vice versa it's a whole thing there's powerapps details to come but we're trying to gamify the networking experience and uh just be extra it's what we do speaking of extra merch we got the free merch we got the paid merch if you want that merch we're proud to announce we're still partnering with meta factory shout outs to meta factory after you get your kova test and pick up your badge i mentioned that free merch here in the art hotel if you want more than that i do you can place an order online to pick it up in the castle or even better get it shipped to you so you don't have to deal with the hassle of the logistics we got vintage ethember stuff however much we got we're going to sell out and then we got the new stuff however much we got maybe we'll sell out and fun little bonus it's web 3 let's get weird everything you buy every dollar you spend you're going to get 3 sport token and 42 back in robot what does that mean you're a member of the community like in all seriousness like you show up and you're like cool shirt and suddenly you're accidentally intentionally a part member part owner of this thing you can ignore it token go up i don't know or you can participate and engage the point is actually to put the ownership and the community membership in your hands both sort of spiritually language is great but also literally hear your tokens come vote up next i have the pleasure of bringing up jason lee who among other things is one of our judging stewards for this year let's give a warm welcome for jason thank you thank you by the way happy birthday derek awesome well good morning so many good faces hey how you doing all right so let's talk about judging tracks and prizes so for to for this year to participate in the hackathon you have to have a minimum of two team members and a maximum of four so that could look like two developers a business person and a creative it could look like three developers and a business person it could really look at however you want to make it but the minimum is two the maximum is four so a pre-existing projects so if you've been working on a project for the last couple months you have to start new you can't bring in an existing project you have to start from scratch using the bounties and using the directions from the criteria that our sponsors are going to give us eat denver 2022 if you haven't heard is both live and virtual so we have thousands of people going to participate in the virtual aspect and then there's also going to be the 15 1600 people that are participating in denver so in comparison to years past i think we had like 2 000 people show up in 2020 and we have 1600 people that are here specifically just to hack so significant increases in the amount of people that are here to hack and enjoy themselves with all the different bounties so what does that mean when it comes to actually hacking if you are in person you can participate in denver if you are online you're participating online if you have some people that are online and some people that are in denver you have to participate in the virtual you cannot participate in the in person so everyone physically has to be here to participate in the in person eat denver hackathon all right so tracks and bounties what are tracks so tracks are like the top level aspects so there's there's nine different tracks and i'll go through those in a moment uh and basically we have like nfts so if you just want to have a project focused on nfts if you want to have a project focused on d5 you as a team get to choose one track uh and you submit to that one track and you can build whatever it is that your creative minds are thinking um there will be a total of 30 uh teams that make it to the final stages and the people that are judging the tracks are a combination of sponsoring uh judges as well as the community so we currently have about 145 judges that are made up from about all over the world and that ranges from ceos to ctos to venture capital to developers it's a mixture of both business people as well as technical so that way when you're presenting you'll be able to someone will be able to attack the technical aspect and then you'll have people that can attack the business aspect so really wanted to make sure that happened and then how many bounties can you submit so you can submit to one track and you can submit up to 10 different bounties so there's probably close to 300 400 bounties between the 100 and some sponsors that you can submit to and as far as what type of bounties there are there are bounties that are for basically every single person whether you're a creative a developer an engineer a business person a marketer there's all sorts of things which is really cool so if if you are coming and you're not sure if you want to participate in the hackathon anyone's welcome so if you're a marketer if you're a business strategist if you are a ui ux designer there are bounties across the entire spectrum that will fit you and then if you're a technical developer if you're an engineer programmer code i guess there's so many different words for it but there's bounties also there for you and then because we are both in person and virtual this year you will be able to see bounties for both so every single sponsor that participated 50 of their total uh sponsor package is for in person and 50 of it is for virtual so ultimately uh there's just a lot of money available and i'll share the number here in a moment but there are hundreds of bounties available for virtual 100 bounties for in person um so there's that all right so these are the nine different tracks that you get to choose from and coming up in the uh of the 11 o'clock hour we'll actually dive into these as our sponsors actually talk about them so we have colorado jam so that's sponsored by the state of colorado we have thousand communities that's sponsored by consensus mesh defy api three impact uniswap labs mobile first focus zello nfts upshot gaming in the metaverse polygon infrastructure and scalability scale and space in the new frontier lunargistics so what is this going to look like from a judging perspective so judging will start when your projects end so projects are end on 8 am on sunday february 20th judging starts at 10 a.m on february 20th when you are submitting your project you will have five minutes to pitch to the judges uh that will include approximately one minute of q a we will have a complete science fair so it's totally open every single team that submits will be have a table and you will have people kind of coming around and engaging with you there will be sections all throughout so fiddlers will be in miras temple sports castle art hotel basically everywhere that we can possibly put you because we are expecting about 400 to 600 teams to submit across the 1600 people that are participating in the in the hacking so there will be sections specifically for each of the nine different tracks so be easy to kind of go find them so if you want to go see all the nfts we'll have it specifically located where those people are and etc um and then the top 30 are the teams uh that the judges are picking and those top 30 people will end up on the final stage and then that's where the celebrity judges will come into play and they will actually be judging your project so if you want to understand the entire judging process what the team formation kind of process looks like you're going to want to go to eatdenver.

com forward slash judging and that will provide all the information that you could possibly want and if you have any questions join us on the discord channel so top 30 teams uh you got three minutes one minute five celebrity judges celebrity judges are going to review and they're going to pick their top pick there's also a macy community voting aspect to where we're going to take a snapshot of every spork holder's wallet and then you'll be able to participate in community voting and then as a community we will choose and ultimately distribute a significant amount of spork out to the community and then there's monetary prizes from a track pool and then we have the celebrity judging recognition and cash prizes so what does the prize is this look like so as of uh i don't know five minutes ago we were at one point one million one hundred and forty thousand dollars are up for grabs for all hackers so it's pretty awesome uh so what does that mean got 550 000 available to those of you that are physically here in denver 550 000 to those that are participating online so significant bounties i don't know of any other hackathon or community that's offering something that like that so it's pretty awesome in addition to that we have two million dollars in investment capital and grants so that's going to be available and then as far as track prices so the top 30 people that make it to the stage those 30 teams will split 270 thousand dollars across 135 000 in person and 135 000 virtually so what does that look like well if you take 30 teams nine tracks say four teams end up on the main stage those four teams are gonna split evenly the the fifteen thousand dollars for in person and then fifteen thousand dollars for virtual so lots of uh lots of money available and then on top of it you know the whole goal here is to keep building so that way once the event is over where you guys can keep going because you have the whole virtual so the in person is happening from starting today and so you could actually start hacking right now if you want and it will end on the february 20th at 8 a.m then the virtual hackathon will continue all the way up until uh 8 a.m march 21st and then judging will happen after that so uh important dates we got to kick off right now you can start forming teams on hacker link.io we'll start talking about the the bounty platform uh once we get into the bounty section so important time is 8 a.m on sunday that's when your projects are due and then if you're participating in the virtual hackathon your due date is uh march 21st at 8 a.

m that's uh that's all i got then we got casey casey is over all of our mentors and he's going to come up and share so thank you good morning i'm excited to be here uh so uh i obviously uh the prize pool this year is gonna be uh super big so all you are probably motivated to build uh and those have built something before know that you need help right um so whether you need help at two in the morning or you know early sunday morning you need someone to help you know look at your pitch uh we're here to help you so your success is our success and we want to be here for you so um i think the best way to find help is for our sponsors we have 150 sponsors this year which is the most we've ever had and finding a sponsor for help for any type of bounty that you're working for is going to be your go-to so if you're looking for you know a bounty even a job or if you're just trying to get some more information on our sponsors they're going to be readily available in person at the sports castle we have two floors so if you've been here before you know that we've only usually have done that one second floor this year we're expanding that to two floors so there's gonna be a ton of sponsors a ton of support um and they're gonna be available on their discord so every sponsor that we have is going to have like their own little what we call embassy on the discord so you'll be able to find help at any time of the day through our sponsors um obviously these guys need to sleep too so if you're at you know the sports castle two in the morning uh and you know you need a second pair of eyes uh on your code or whether you need help with some sort of a business issue that you're having the best way to find help is through our mentors so we've had about 500 mentors apply this year and we've accepted 150 of them so the broad range of these mentors are going to be majority developers but we have business uh professionals and we even have attorneys so whether you need help there we go uh so whether you need help um you know across the spectrum we're here to help you so um if you go to the sports castle on the second or on the fourth floor will be our mentor booth um the mentors are going to be there 24 hours a day for the entire uh uh event to be there to help you so don't be shy go up to them they have a lot of experience and they're they're going to be bored most of the time because i think a lot of people don't usually like to approach the desk but i i really encourage you to uh to get to know the mentors that are there because they're there to help you so that's a little bit of my advice and sometimes if you know these mentors are on a shift basis so if there's somebody there that's not really quite able to help you i encourage everyone to go to the discord the discord is going to have virtual mentors and in-person mentors that aren't currently on shift and they're going to be able to help you so definitely utilize them if possible and then like i said they're open 24 hours a day and they're there to help you practice your pitch necessary um on sunday so make sure you guys visit the mentor desk and and get some help cool next is derek again and he's going to talk about social media megan the metaverse what is it there are literally panels during this event trying to wrap our heads around what it means to engage not only in web 2 across the social media platforms that we know and have complicated relationships with but also in the ever-growing laundry list of super fun beta stage metaverse places we can congregate we're talking our virtual castle for example discord in a way other things like decentraland atlantis world the list goes on i want to help y'all know various fun ways you can engage with us while acknowledging that it's just a big umbrella you play however you want to play over on twitter we are at ethereum denver we might photograph you we might ask you to do a quick picture with us we're doing fit checks if you're looking clean we're going to snap a fit and you might get live stream if that's not okay for you you know hide tweet at us at ethereum denver shout outs to laura holty on the back end checking out those uh tweets quote tweeting them we're trying to engage with you seriously as hard as we can it's a it's a lot of people but we do our best please hashtag eat denver hashtag this is the way and hashtag better week we're going to be fiddling all week might as well start trending you want to be a part of something you're finally a part of something in a very narrow twitter sense in addition to uh biddleweek you know we got biddle bitterling biddlers have fun with it you remix however you want over on instagram we're at denver if it's cool with you we're also going to be stopping people getting that little man on the street vibe where we just chat with bidler's attendees and ask what brought you what are you working on anything you want to tell people so if you're into that kind of a thing tap me tap laura holte we want to engage it's not just about vitalik or the governor a huge appreciation of them for coming it's also about y'all this is not a passive event it's an engaging event we want to give you a chance to literally show up make connections get on stage get on camera whatever you want it to be we're trying to give you that platform that blank canvas and lastly my favorite the discord anyone in the discord i just apologize for how many channels it is every day it keeps me up working on it marie condo uh it's a great community we got good memes we got puff popcorn holders floor's not looking great and uh we got announcements for giveaways we're doing um congrats to the people that won vip vip tickets to this event simply by clicking an emoji in the discord that's uh the kind of generosity that we like to foster here free to attend always will be here's some free merch here's some free sport here's a vip ticket even after the event especially community stuart it's my dream that it doesn't just end there's clearly so much energy excitement potential we're all dreaming big and my dream is that that doesn't end on the 20th we're still going to be around we're still going to have half our money in virtual prizes all the way into late march like jason mentioned and for the whole rest of the year we're going to keep the party going so if you want to come hang with us doors wide open this community it's a weird one it's quirky one that's why i like being here i'm a broken record but uh even though i'm up here on the mic right now i i want to give everyone here a chance to participate whatever that looks like for you maybe that's being on mic maybe that's building something cool and showing it off maybe you're shy maybe you're extroverted whoever you are and whatever you like to do i hope we give you a chance to do it and to shine and to be seen for whatever it is you're proud of yourself for because that's a community otherwise it's just the audience that's creepy uh at me at derrick and the discord immediately regret saying it and uh you can also bounce ideas off us on twitter and uh and discord that's primarily where we're engaging where we're paying as close attention as we can especially during the crush that is the main event so get on there right now download that app on your phone discord dot gg slash sport dao if you want to hear that everyone a little bit of alpha that uh josh forgot to mention buff corn holders anyone free merch and swag we're going to be doing at buffalo corn roll in the discord we're going to be putting it out on twitter as well we just want to give away free stuff we got the plushies that we're selling you want a free one boom so there's going to be that lounge we mentioned only for buff corn holders it's not just a place to be like you're a zombie me too although in all seriousness zombie gang strong uh we're also just gonna be giving away free stuff it's that generosity i'm talking about because i think if we can just provide a table with some good food some nice shirts that's where the magic happens i'll leave it up to you that's all for me up next i'm excited to throw it over to a video we have of the uh dora hacks platform that's going to show you biddlers how you're actually going to submit and get into the logistics a little bit short and sweet with more information to come and then afterward jason lee is going to tell you a little bit more here's that video hey guys welcome to east denver 2022 hacker application tutorial this is steve from door hacks since 2014 we've been working with amazing partners to organize hackathons globally and we have recently launched a platform that allows leading blockchain ecosystems to host multi-chain grants bounties and community voting initiatives to support developers just like you this year we're thrilled to be hosting east denver project submission and community voting on dora hacks in this video i'll walk you through the process of signing up and submitting your projects with our platform so first you will need to register account with door hacks it is required that every team has at least two people in east denver 2022 and each one of you should create your own account so there are three main ways to register with door hacks you can either with your crypto wallet with your email or with your github address if you're registering with the email please make sure it's the same one you registered for the main east denver event so after you do that you can come back to the door hacks platform to submit your project in the hacksaw tab choose the east denver event and you should be able to see the hackathon page like this if you have any questions we are submitting your project we have prepared a step-by-step guide for you here and also before you submit a project make sure you're already familiar with the tracks there are nine tracks in this denver and also the bounties there are 44 amazing bounties provided by sponsors and partners of the event make sure to check them all out then you can come back to the platform to submit your project if you're new to the platform you need to create a new build and i'm going to show you how so this is an information collection form and you will need to provide all the answers to the required questions they are all marked with the red asterisk you can choose each denver as the project submission event and below that you can share the infrastructure your project is deployed on your project's tagline and a project description about the project's vision and about the project infrastructure please provide as much information as possible to help other attendees and judges better understand your project and also don't forget to upload the team banner or logo in the recommended size as well as provide us a valid discord account to reach out if we have any verification questions for you below that use the team section every team member needs to register account with door hacks to be included in the application you can search your teammates by typing in their emails please also don't forget to fill in your team description as well so here i mentioned eric anna and chris and steve they're all door hacks team members i'll just include them there and finally you can share some social media links here in close get up your demo link your demo video probably uploaded to youtube your twitter and facebook some of the social media links to a project please only provide one url for each section and before you click the submit button make sure you double check whether all of the information are correct and then you're good to go great so the website should direct you to this page which is the east denver application form where you can add your newly created project here and you can select the tract and also you can select the bounties you're trying to you're trying to tackle and then we will see this page congrats your hacksaw application is successfully submitted and the next step for you is to head to the east denver discord team verification channel there you will need to share your build name and the email you use to register for door hacks and once approved you'll be able to see your build on your profile and here is where you can edit the profile of you can edit the project details but please only do that if you need to change important information like a product description we need to add a new teammate each build added will need to be verified by the door hacks team so if you want to share any progress update make sure you use the milestone section here so if you have any questions feel free to reach out to us through dora hacks support channel on east denver discord and that's pretty much it feel free to reach out to us and i hope you all enjoy east denver hackathon this year it will be amazing i hope to see you all at castle at our hotel and the whole door hacks team will be there to support you thank you cool awesome so that's dora hacks sedora hacks uh you'll go to hackerlink.io and that's where you'll create your team biddle your team profile um and that's ultimately where you'll be submitting now if you want more information about that the door hacks team is going to be around the art hotel to also be participating in the tally we got a little party happening here later at 5 00 p.m they'll be here so if you want to ask them some questions you can ask them questions at that so um with that we're going to move over and talk a little bit about some team formations i'm going to bring up dan shields and he's going to talk about team formations [Applause] rock on guys rock on well so i don't know about you but with all this content it it almost makes me forget that again this is a hackathon with more than a million dollars on the line to be able to win it here but you need to be on a team to potentially go after some of this stuff so maybe to get us all warmed up like eat denver really has been an amazing boom in my mind for so many teams to form not just here but to go on and do great things in the world right and i think you're going to meet some friends here that you're going to have for life i know i have every year and i think the best way to go about forming some of these teams um is to really try and branch out get out of your norm if you came here with people like on a mission to do something invite people to join you in whatever you're doing and if you're not really sure there's going to be some amazing opportunities here to get some icebreakers in to meet some people all right with 10 000 people it's going to be really hard to find somebody you don't jive with really well and i really do encourage you that to have a really like team that's going to succeed here and potentially do some amazing things here and beyond uh you can want to have a pretty diverse and inclusive team right so i think uh jason you might have mentioned this that in general it's a really good idea to have a diversity of backgrounds and skills so in particular we've got people here who are devs right so we got some engineers in the audience which is awesome i'm a nerd i love you guys right um but if we're all getting engineers together we generally come up with the same kind of ideas over and over and they're typically dev tools so you should probably branch out we have some amazing artists we have some amazing creatives and some business professionals that understand the problems that need to be solved in the world better than the nerds might right so here we really encourage you to go and find people who you wouldn't normally necessarily jive with in your day job would be a co-worker so that you can work together off of the things that you can bring to the same team right so uncommon pairings at least i'm convinced can get you some pretty uncommon and very special results in all that though right your goal should be to find people that you really jive with those friends for life that i have right those come from finding those right people and letting some of those relationships that aren't working out they go to the side so if your team isn't making something happen for you over the week don't don't feel be don't feel too bad go ahead and find some new friends you're going to do great things together wherever you are and i think that it's really important that you guys be clear on your goals as a team right so if you're here just to win money and that's fine right that's great but learning is i think potentially even more valuable and some of the networking connections you're going to have here they're the stuff that i know is is more valuable than really than a million dollars to me so really i encourage you guys to focus on what you guys are here to do and why you want to succeed and what is success to you at ether because it's not just about winning it's about a lot more than that so with all that said icebreakers if you guys are looking for teams there's a lot of ways to go and find some people of course on your own meeting people we got lots of parties like some crazy raves you're gonna find some people to hang out and build with there i'm sure hop on discord like uh derek and tyler are doing amazing work helping people out right now we've just launched a whole bunch of different voice channels that are going on there i see people already starting to use it which is awesome to go and meet and greet just like hang out they're pretty small rooms just say hi and see if you drive right um there will be at the virtual castle now that is open an icebreaker room icebreaker like whole segment for you guys so if you're in gamer job go and check out the icebreaker room if you're looking for team members of any kind and then finally on monday we're going to have a professional matchmaker come in and help us find some teams as well so look for that on sked that'll be published here in just a few a few days so monday we'll definitely do some in-person team information if you haven't gotten it done yet so with that go team go we're gonna make oh yeah pass it off to john all right well that's going to pretty much conclude our kickoff of biddle week but before i pass the microphone to our esteemed colleagues at the state of colorado to introduce our first of many many many many many many bounty presentations that are going to happen today one thing there is a tally party here in this room at four o'clock today four o'clock today tally who is the biddleweek sponsors thank you very much for that uh their hub is out here you can go hang out with them in the meantime there's co-working space in the uh in the hallway you can co-work on the tables on the wings here listen to the bounty talks all afternoon one last final thought wag me right we're going to make it this week is going to be a huge chapter in the development of web 3. this is the world's largest community gathering we're going to have over 10 000 people in denver is our guest next week so meet people create build and and most importantly steward what does that mean so we were one of the first groups to use the term steward now we see it all the time in web3 right well what exactly is a steward we don't really talk about it much it's sort of implied or we kind of guess at it but here's what it is a steward is somebody who is community-minded who thinks like an owner from a place of benevolence now what does that mean it means that as i'm engaging with the community as i'm building as i'm building a team as i'm speaking talking creating whatever i happen to be doing i'm thinking about how can i bring benevolence to this person to this group into the community how can i contribute my value contribute my creativity in a way that creates positive sum games for the community it's not extraction first in other words it's not what i what do i get out of this why am i here what do i get what are you going to give me it's what can i contri what can i contribute so think about that as a steward every one of you is a steward of this community we have a culture to protect we have an ethos to protect we have a community to protect we are a big target for people who don't like what we're doing so keep that in mind as you're here engaging with the rest of the community so thank you so much thank you for everything russell castanero we're gonna kick off the bounty's presentations with russell my friend here from the state are you literally gonna do it with a buff corn mask on no i just wanna i just wanna uh thank you for giving and making everybody has tests i found out i have a girl coming for my copa test and uh um and for the county of denver for saying that we don't have to wear masks inside so i can uh i can do this without a mask and a gray mask is pretty darn cool i think yeah it's pretty cool um free mask downstairs if you didn't get one if you want to wear them you can it's completely up to you for those watching online we are paying for everybody's covet test at the door so there's no questions of whether or not somebody's positive or negative test results happen instantly for those traveling if you didn't know this if you need a pcr test on your way out you can get them downstairs for free okay yeah you don't have to go wandering around denver to some pharmacy trying to get an appointment when there are none right like we actually just solved it for you so i'm gonna get off stage russell take it away six uh six stages three venues 700 spikos over the next nine days so keep an eye out focus on building but multitask russell it's all you thanks a lot thank you all for for coming um so i'm russell castigno the director of digital transformation for the state of colorado and uh and so what are we doing here well um i'll i'll tell you so colorado gm is this relatively new thing we introduced last year in the virtual conference it's a track we've got bounties and we've also got this thing called the colorado gym incubator all of them are related to each other in that the colorado jam the colorado gm track feeds into the incubator as well as the greenfield the greenfield pitches that we have which i'll talk about are that the reason why the state is involved in this um we've got we've got the state's blockchain architect fadbat and myself and we're really trying to push blockchain in government but if you'll look around thank you thank you [Applause] if you look around all the united states there's been an amazing amount of work done on blockchain no it hasn't really um no that's not true right like like it is hard it is cutting edge and in government you don't like you don't they don't ask you to do things to put to on the bleeding edge and do things so what we've been trying to do with with each denver over the last two years is to make a safe place to do blockchain for government okay it's it's quite a responsibility to make government systems and so that's why it's hard to change them so we want to find where the sweet spot is that government can start tipping their toe and say oh we can do this now this is the first state i think that we can say i think we've found where that really is and it's because of all of you that have come in the past and help us do things so we want to make it safe a safe place so that agencies and agency heads that want to do something amazing on the blockchain can make a bold move and do it without being punished because sometimes doing new things you're punished right just because it's new even though it might be great and the other thing what we've learned and a lot of my work in the past with mike colorado the digital id that we have has been you have to show people things you can't tell them things especially on the blockchain right you have to really show them how it can work and it can't be something that means that you have to take three different apps and plug them together and make it work and maybe call some help desk it has to be really simple for people to use because we have people who um who are technical savvy technically savvy and people who aren't um but i think this should be our biggest year yet so let me just dig right into our tracks we have four different areas of tracks there's bounties associated with them and the tracks and we expect that um one of each of these areas will go to the or the best one of each of these areas will go to the uh um to the stage on sunday the first is state rules feedback and this is a really exciting one because it's a legislatively mandated service um so we had to make it really easy for people who whether they have a business or they just have a question as to what rule applies to them how they can find it so we have a search interface but we needed to give them away give the agencies in charge a way to get feedback and comments from people but also prove who they were and store the fact that that was received um somehow reliably enter blockchain so um this is a really really cool thing um you can either leverage my my colorado or oauth and i'll get more a little bit into the my colorado aspect of this but um all of our tr all of our track topics have a link that you can go and download the details and what the minimum requirements are and all that kind of stuff and i'll post this stuff up in the in the discord as well we have a livestock brands registry people have been branding their livestock for as long as colorado's been around as a state and we have a system that is written on the original 1872 version of pearl no i'm just kidding uh but uh but we have a system that's a little long in tooth and uh the the department of agriculture um is interested in seeing what this community can do like how can we take a registry and we've got all the the images and stuff and you can even make a buffer coin that has a little tag on it if you want um but uh we want to make we wanted to to you to show your skills and say hey this is how you could do a registry this is how we could leverage the blockchain to do it um really really show your work right build it to biddle it and and show us what is really possible um and this is a great example of something that could be implemented this year if we have found the right solution quadratic support um i don't know if how many of you have saw um the git coin presentation last year ken's presentation on on quadratic support is amazing it blew many people in the governor's office in the legislature's minds and as well as mine and what we wanted to do is not just focus on this as a way of getting things done but a way of gauging support for things whether it's allowing legislators to survey their their constituents or agencies to poll their constituents or even letting people do fundraising and matching for federal programs that might be good for their area all sorts of things in that we think this could be really really cool and it and it's really where blockchain could bring some serious advantages and even leverage that cooperative aspect of it so um let's see i think my my colorado stuff got skipped so unfortunately my my colorado track is not on here so what i will do is it'll be mycolorado.page.

link slash my co jam i believe that's the link but my colorado is the state's digital identity and i realize that more than three quarters of you do not have a colorado driver's license or state id we don't want to make it so that you cannot take part in this so what we've done in the document has all the specifications and everything we have made it so that we use a callback to call your service to share information that you request via my colorado in other words you want somebody to log in or prove they are who they say they are you show them a qr code they say i want to share this information and we send it to you in the web hook so that means that you can simulate using my colorado yourself with your own web hook in order for you to win we'll just have to test it with one of our users who have an id to make sure that the data goes there but you can make the whole system knowing that the web hook works the way it's supposed to we have a bunch of a bunch of bounties so you can stack projects whether it's some of these projects or projects that you're doing for other um for other tracks um that will be really exciting we have about 650 000 users on the colorado digital id here in colorado right now the greenfield pitches are these sort of big ideas that you have that somebody any of you who are pitching have the opportunity to share your opinions and your projects and your ideas on how these problems can get solved and so we will be sending out a link so that you can submit your ideas um before um next friday i believe uh and these are the four areas that we have the first one is energy so so governor polis has this idea to transition to 100 renewable energy by 2040 and we want to see what you can do leveraging blockchain to make this happen in the reasonably near future there's a lot of options here we got some great proposals last year on this recovery we want to see how we could leverage blockchain and web3 as an advantage for businesses to recover in the next three to five years so this isn't too far-reaching this is what can we do in the very near future to make a difference the environment um we had quite a few we had i think at least three pr um proposals last year on how to provide incentives to the private sector to enable them to be the ones advocating for the change for tracking oil wells for methane methane emissions for vehicle emissions and the transition to renewable energy in colorado and then the one that's the most interesting i think is about digital citizenship so what we want to do is what is your idea of what citizenship what digital citizenship and digital statehood means in the future right how is it that this blockchain technology will be integrated into our everyday lives and if you come and say we're going to use a web 3 wallet for everything they're probably gonna look at you with glazed eyes so don't do it that way do it show us a little bit more how in the next five to ten years how you know state and local governments are really going to be able to leverage this how will impr increase democracy how will it upgrade security how will it position colorado and other states that use it to serve their constituents better and how can we start you know show that you're going to have to tell us as well as show us a little bit of what blockchain can do to change the way we act as citizens in our counties and our cities and our states and our countries in our communities like the house so why would you want to do this greenfield stuff well you get to pitch to these state stakeholders you get the picture idea which is always a good thing whenever you've got a concept and an idea but you also get to pitch to the world i think last year like 10 000 people were watching these things and they were a lot of fun um you uh will potentially get invited to be a part of the colorado gm incubator which provides which is funded by the buffalo corn ventures and provides lots of resources for you to actually get your project going and really get ahead of steam with a customer not necessarily customer but vetting from the state of colorado and get feedbacks from subject matter experts that might be able to really help you so in the state of colorado we are super excited to see what you guys will biddle this year and we're excited to work with you once again look for me and thad on the on the discord and walking around and i wish you nothing but loads and loads of luck and i'm super excited to see all your um is war is walker walker walker would it be work walker no is that anything anyway see whatever the work is so thank you very much and that is um all i've got and i think that's the end of the presentation so um would you like to close it up okay thanks a lot [Applause]
