[Music] good afternoon everybody my name is cark one of the co-founders of eth global and I'm super excited to welcome all of you to pragma Bangkok now this is a conference eth Global is doing two things here this week we're running a hackathon and this Summit the goal for us is to get more and more developers and Builders and people who are excited to learn about what's happening in web 3 in this space and we're designing this whole event to get that group to understand what's going on in a very simple and easy to understand way today is about pragma and all the things that are happening here in Bangkok and giving you the best of what you can learn about in this space every solidity developer knows that smart contract starts with the word pragma for us it's not the beginning of just a developer Journey but it is a call towards pragmatism the goal for this conference is to help tell all of you about what the people making this space happen are excited about and how you can contribute and learn anywhere from complex things to high level things in a lot more easy to understand way all towards making this more and more accessible to a much bigger audience what makes this different is this is a single day single track event we don't want you to be confused about two things going on at the same time we never want you to choose between two events or two conferences our goal here is to keep things very curated and simple so that you just get to be in this room and understand all the cool things that you need to know the other thing that makes pragma different is that it is Founders only event you get to learn directly from who the founders are of the protocols and products and projects that you look up to and see what they're thinking directly from the source the focus for all of our chats is about the future which means we get to understand where things are moving and how we can learn from all the Reflection from the past whether it's things we've seen work not work or things that are finally mature enough for us to try and because the audience here is not just developers everything you you are going to hear today is going to be a non-technical introduction to all all the stuff that's happening in the space we'll kind of keep things as minimal as possible in terms of new terms that you need to know or specifically anything that's more complicated that requires some programming knowledge but all the speakers are here going to do a great job at making sure everything is easy to understand as a result today is going to be seven interviews and four talks you will all be able to see the full schedule behind the postcard that you all got in when you checked in also cover and give you a big overview of what those 11 talks are and everything I'm going to say is also on our website which is on ethg global.com pragma now I want to start off by giving you an overview of who's here this this week and today we over 450 people from 46 different countries in the room they're all here attending pragma they're all here learning about what's happening in the space during Defcon week and I want to welcome all of you to this event more than half of you are joining us for the very first time in a pragma event so I hope that you get to like this experience I also want to thank two of our incredible Partners flow and world they're here outside they're sharing about what they're building what they're excited to build here and what you can do on their platform so please uh go and talk to them and learn about what they're up to and let's get into some of the things that I want to talk about before we get to the schedule the more interesting piece here is the Bangkok pack a lot of you bought the pack as an upgrade to the ticket and I want to thank all of you for who did this and tried out all the different perks this is a new onchain primitive by eth global that lets you experience onchain and offchain perks in addition to the tickets you get to do more interesting things like being able to actually leverage different discounts for other events that are going on or things like experiences in Bangkok whether it's gym or Food Services or just more touristic things that you could do while you're here and it's extensible which means everything is on chain and public so if you're a developer you get to learn about and integrate any of these things by just referencing a contract and as as long as somebody can verify ownership of this pack you get to expose anything you'd like to that audience so there's a lot of things that are still available for you to try out on the pack if you haven't already redeemed these things give it a shout and this is a developer friendly product so we're also love to learn what we can do to make this experience better for you for next time all the stuff is available on pack you get to check this out on your own and the thing I want to talk about here is The Wristband that all of you got at registration this is a special chip that we've been working to integrate with all of our events and this chip lets you sign ethereum transactions it covers the SE 256 K1 curve which means that every wristband is also a smart wallet you get to sign transactions you get to send transactions to everybody and we're actually doing some small Pilots here this today where you get to actually interact with each other or as you kind of get lunch or talk to each other once you scan somebody on your phone it goes to a page you get to actually learn more about who they are you get to connect with them and all of that is going to be natur station on chain and we get to kind of show you that all these things are possible so if you want to meet anybody just go scan their wristband and you will get to learn about who they are and basically get contact information for them and they get to choose what they want to share with you you and all that becomes a lot easier for you to track so give that a try out and uh we want to see who you've met say hi to me I want to scan a lot of people here and it'll go directly to e global.com connect where you can see the history of who You' met here this entire week the other thing I want to talk about is for those of you who are attending the hackathon this weekend please make sure that you keep your wristbands on the same wristband will work for you tomorrow and you get to now cut the line for registration you just have to show up with The Wristband so don't take them off it only adds a lot more time for you for the registration process so now this band will work for the entire week and the same thing automatically transitions so you get to meet anybody at the hackathon as well and this also works for all things that you get to do over the weekend at the hackathon and if you already haven't collected this swag as soon as you checked in you will also be able to receive your laptop sleeves and uh they come in two different sizes so enjoy your swag item for being at this event and that's enough talking and logistics for me so let's go into the schedule I want to get ready for our very first speaker but I want to give you a quick preview of what the talks are going to be about we're going to start off today with interviewing Stan we're going to talk about how we can make wallets a lot more better our second talk is going to be Jesse from base and we're going to cover what it means to scale a network that can be used by hundreds of millions to billions of people then Georgio from par is going to be talking about the future of ux of doing things on chain you'll get to learn more about itha the new L2 they've been working on and the problems that still exist on the technical side of things then Martin from nosis is going to talk about a better way to think about money altogether with the launch of circles we're going to take a quick break so all of you get to talk with some of our speakers and each other we'll kind of come back with a fir side chat with Cecilia and we're going to talk about how morph is making it easy for everybody to do consumer applications then Edwin from PayPal is going to talk about what PayPal is doing for getting stable coins in the hands of hundreds of millions of their users then tour is going to talk about Ed City and how these pop-up cities are shaping culture and making crypto more and more widespread we're going to learn about that in a fireside chat then we're going to do a dinner from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and then we'll resume the last segment of this conference where DC from Doo is and talk about a new way to think about sending cross chain transactions and money with each other through intent addresses A Primitive they've been working on then Anton will be sharing his thoughts on how we can actually improve the tech stack of l1's and l2s to make defi more and more scalable specifically optimizing for things that we know defi needs and our last second last interview will be with the LA from onboard who is going to cover how how we can actually make stable coins more accessible across the globe especially in Africa and the last Talk of the day is going to be Charles who's the CTO of leisure telling about telling you about the key ring protocol they've been working on at leisure and that'll be the end of the day which will lead to a networking session and you get to talk to everybody outside after [Music]
