Web3BridgeThu, Oct 9, 2025, 12:00 AM

In this video, Web3bridge students from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda share their experiences and insights from our free Web3 training program. Watch as they discuss key crypto, blockchain, and programming lessons learned during our onsite and online Web3 and Web2 classes. From building decentralized apps (DApps) to understanding liquidity in DeFi, these participants are gaining hands-on skills to become professionals in the growing African blockchain ecosystem. If you're a tech enthusiast, crypto lover, or looking to break into Web3, this video is for you! Here is the link to apply: https://www.web3bridgeafrica.com/cohorts Join our free Web3 training program today and take your first steps toward becoming a skilled Web2 and Web3 developer. Don't forget to subscribe for more tutorials, student stories, expert interviews, and weekly updates on the blockchain space in Africa. my name is n OK we are here to bring you a recap from we Bridge called s in this video we'll be talking about solidity functions data [Music] locations solidity is a statical type language which means that all the types of every variables must be specified talking about variables variables are containers that store data variables also help developers to manipulate data at wrong time we also have data types we have the primitive data types and the reference data types under the primitive data types we have the U the unsigned integers that contains positive integers u in has U 8 un 128 un 256 in is signed integer which contains positive and negative integers we also have address address is a keyword used to store addresses we also have bullion Buon returns true or false okay let's talk about the reference types the reference types we have the struct the stru is a user defined um data that contains different data types for example let's asse I want to store my data my name which is a string my age which is U my address which is the address so the struct will contain everything there under reference data type we also have array array is a collection of data data which only stores the same type of data we also have um the string the string is a collection of characters under reference data type we also have mapping mapping is a key to Val data type which SS key to value in the sense that if you want to retrieve a data you will use the key to retrieve a particular data from the mapping [Music] so functions are reable piece of code that can be used to perform a specific task in the smart contract it helps and it's interactivity within the state and it also helps eliminate the need to write code again and again to call a function you need the function keyword the unique name the parameter which is used to pass in the arguments then the CRA which is cover the block of Cotes there are function modifiers and visibility functions there are four types of visibility functions there are private public internal and external so private functions are functions that can be called within the contracts it can be called externally while public functions can be used or called within the contract and outside the contract internal functions can be called within the only be called within the contract and contracts derives from it while external functions can not be used or called within the contract but outside the contract so for function modifiers we have two types there are PE and view functions P function can neither enrich from the state or modify the state but V function can only reach from the states but cannot modify the states so on the we have two types of data locations we have the storage and the memory so on the storage datas can be sto permanently on the blockchain using St locations while for memory data are sto for a temporal period of time that means they exist for limited period of time and you store um State variables in the storage location and restore local variables in the memory locations um you can write and read to this locations you can write to the stor location and you can read from memory locations so we have what we call the contast structure so for the contast structure there is a um where we write our codes in solid D so the first line is for the structure the first line is a lense so you have to specify your lense in the structure and the second the next thing is the pragma version so this is where you specify the version for your compiler and then you go down to the contract name itself so you write the contract then write the contract name contract my name then call bracket then the bracket then you declare your state variable so this this are this will be stored in the storage location then after your state variable write your functions in these functions this is where the local variables are stor so they are stored in the memory thank you for watching this video to this point if you like this video please like subscribe and share thank you [Music]
