so ladies and gentlemen Round of Applause for Christine hi everyone uh thank you for coming despite uh you know this being very early so I'll be talking about a topic that is um not usually being talked about uh in in in in in terms of blockchain games and this are autonomous worlds um since since now we're on autonomous worlds uh I I know this are two two words that uh might not have meaning but when you put them together um they they make for really amazing use cases so autonomous means um it's something that uh even uh that is not managed by a central Authority so autonomous means that uh the worlds don't have to be controlled by anyone and what are worlds so yeah um anyone can create worlds so authors um artists creators basically anyone um can create worlds and uh it it it because it only consists of three things the first is the that your world has a narrative it has a it has a single truth that everyone abides by like uh what is the lore of Your World what is the story so uh and then the next one is that it has it's uh it has its built-in rules which is the inter objective reality that everyone in uh within that world is um uh is agreeing with so they play by the same rules so th that was the second and then the third is that there uh the actions from its participants the citizens of that world affects the state of it so when you think about it there are a lot of examples of Worlds um there are there are stories in books where where the characters can affect uh what's within that world and the world was created by the author and the characters is uh is kind of a uh it's not permissionless the author has to create the characters um nobody else except the author is in control of that world now um if if you're I I know you're all familiar with this already but uh as what Daniel has has mentioned before we have uh we have a web that is read only it's only it's only meant to broadcast information to the rest of the world and then we had web to which is read and right we we suddenly have user generated content but is controlled by uh centrally owned servers who can share or sell your data in any way they like and now um we're we're transitioning into web three which is read write and own so people can now own digital assets that no one nobody else can control aside aside from the owners of the private keys so in the beginning we only have um non permissionless world uh where uh only single authors or single entities can create or control that world but blockchain technology changed that so we only have one autonomous worlds in the be autonomous world in the beginning which is what the reality we currently have right now um this is the only world where anyone can change the state anyone can own something anyone can control what they do but uh blockchain changed that now now we have we have a medium where we can create a world where people can own things can uh can change the the universal state of the of that world so before we have non-persistent centrally owned worlds uh like what I said there are stories created by authors there are centralized games that are handled by the core developers and uh Central servers and then we have the banking system um yeah and and we have crypto Twitter well crypto Twitter has user generated content but all the content in that in that was uh controlled by by the by the corporation or Elon Musk or whoever um and then yeah uh e k is also uh an example of a world where we have we have rules we have a narrative we have we have um we have a system where we have events and we have this rooms and we have side events so so uh think of Worlds as uh something that has a narrative a rule a rule that everyone is uh playing playing in and then um yeah everyone can can change the state of the world like anyone can be a participant but uh expanding to that we now have worlds that are multi-author expandable persistent so what does it mean is that um not e even even when the Creator or the producer of that world uh is gone tomorrow the world will still persist uh anyone can can um can add rules to that world anyone can add characters or or or new narratives to that they can expand it because um that's the nature of smart contracts uh it's composable anyone can add to it anyone can um Can can change the state of the blockchain as long as they're a participant of that world and and some some of these Protocols are permissionless so these are worlds no one can unplug even even when the creator of your application or your game uh is suddenly gone in the next in the next hour this game will persist this G these games will still be playable um and these games can uh can still be modable by anyone if they want to continue the lore of the game then anyone can just um anyone can just can just go in and and add whatever they want to add to that game so um by the way the characteristic of uh autonomous worlds is that they're autonomous right so uh unlike other games where the where where sometimes you only upload or or you only make onchain the Assets in that game autonomous worlds also has their game logic on chain because that's what makes it playable even when there is no centrally owned servers that is hosting the game so if you can create autonomous world with its own rules and reality now what what can we do with it so again we have persistent multi-author games so if if you don't like your uh if you don't like having having games that are pated then you can create your own version where there is no where there is no um gating for for for parts of your game and then let anyone just play it um and then there are we can have different games that have that share the same assets and states or characters or uh anything because uh the tables of that came will uh can can just can just stop in into the same into the same uh Supply uh source of data so you can have games where where the where where you require a player to finish a certain level on this game before you you can play uh something on the other game or you can have uh you can have games that are partners with each other where you where the players has to look for uh for a special item on one game and then use it on another so uh the the possibilities are endless with uh this one you you can you can create a universe of games permissionless Le anyone can just uh tap into the world that is created by one game and then create another one and actually use whatever whatever data and uh transaction has happened in the in the other game so we we're going to have interconnected games uh with this so another one is user generated games mods so there are games that are at the end of their life cycle where the where the core developers decided to not support it anymore or or no longer add to it so what what what can be the next um logical transition to that um we can we can use we can use autonomous worlds for um for this end of service games where if people still want to play it or still still think that the game um deserves another another level or a continuation then they can just create it and add a mod to it uh because because the entire logic of the game is onchain and uh they can they can just add whatever they like and then yeah even when the core developers or or or the owners or or the creators of the game is gone then uh they can still continue it the last one is um games with onchain superpowers which is what I am personally interested in because this blurs the line between games and reality because on in onchain it's not just games that are are are being used by by the by the citizens of the blockchain world um everyone is also using it in different ways there are rwas there's defi there are things that we value that is on chain so if your if your game is already in that space then you can connect your Game to something that we value so yeah we can we can have real-time data through through oracles like uh we can have games that are being affected by the current weather pattern in your in your location there we can have games that are that are connected to the markets we can have games that are connected to any real world happening so it's uh it it makes for an unpredictable gam play and and also somewhat related to what is physically happening in in the world so we can have direct integration with permissionless markets yeah like uh defi so these are these are things that um raise the stakes of of being in the game because um you you are the same the same person who owns who owns this real world assets that is going into the game and and and and you get in and when you get into this worlds you bring your you bring your you bring all the things you own with you so yeah um these are the new types of games that are possible when you unchain the logic of of of your of your game so now now we're talking about real world we're we're also we're also seeing the possibilities of experimental economies with games so if if you if you are curious there are there are certain applications that are playing with experimental economies and experimental policies within games so there they are observing how how people will behave or react um when when when they when they use a certain system and and they implement it through smart contracts so simulated realities and economies in games is is possible if if you try to onchain uh all the logic and the rules they're playing by so yeah it's it's basically a world there can basically be worlds where where economies can be tested observed and uh people's behaviors uh can can uh can be be seen and and measured and uh yeah tested okay uh I yeah so the possibilities there there are possibilities and limits to autonomous worlds uh as as as I've said there uh the possibility is that uh the code is up there and anyone can just mod the game um the player history is also there so you're being your whole person with you you you have your you have your um you have your history uh inside the game you don't have to be a new player to uh each game you enter um there there are direct P2P marketplaces where where people can just sell uh the assets they create inside the game and it doesn't matter whether whe whether it came from the original game creators they can just uh trade it um mod things and all that uh but the limit is that since games are are are heavy in transactions and heavy in rights and and uh uh yeah it it it doesn't make sense to use um the the blockchain because uh there uh we have limits in terms of latency so we need a specialized infrastructure for that uh to enable blockchain to have uh games with onchain logic uh and some some fully onchain games as well so we also need offchain services for managing complex behaviors and features like uh for example we're doing an multiplayer RPG yeah I'm running out of time and also we must mind ux since um we're we're talking about people who might not be literate with uh using using blockchain elements like for example wallets these are players who are playing for fun and not for speculation so uh we must uh we must find the infrastructure to to help people to help actual users the mass consumers uh get into this autonomous worlds so I haven't thought what breeder da is doing so we we're we're building a project that will enable people and developers to easily build autonomous worlds we're making a scalable infrastructure that will enable this to happen so if you're interested in experimenting with autonomous worlds then um you can you can schedule a call with me or just message me or anything uh thank you so much thank you Christine
