Dr. Dimitar Damyanov: Introducing UNWE's Masters of Cryptoeconomics | ETHSofia

[Music] hello everybody uh thank you very much for being here uh I'm honored to be among the first speakers uh in today's event thanking thank you for uh taking your time uh from your morning coffee um to be here um in this um in this room and to um give me that privilege to be able to present um what we believe is an exciting new opportunity uh for everybody um involved or looking forward to be involved in the crypto industry uh my name is U uh dranov uh and um as you heard from the introduction I'm on assistant professor at the department of Economics at the University of national World economy I'm not going to talk about um any of those consumption and um saving and all that things uh I'm only here to um introduce that um opportunity um so we are happy to announce um um the launch of a new uh master degree program a one-year master degree program um that we um will offer from the beginning of next uh year 2025 uh in blockchain in crypto economics and blockchain um we um one of the one of the um one of the um tasks of higher education institutions I believe is to uh always look for areas for the areas that need um new Talent uh those would be uh um areas that grow quickly and um we believe that this is the case with the crypto industry right now um there's growing business interest in the area um some of the guys in the other rooms um have been talking about this or will be talking about this throughout the day uh you have those um exciting um um and hyped um um opportunities of Bitcoin ETFs or other ETFs in the area you have real world assets um uh being tokenized you have uh um many well multi-million dollar projects um that um um come up every day and we have a lot of out there we have a lot of expertise in the technical um aspects of things um but we believe that uh now that the business potential and the economic impact is there uh and is growing uh there's more need for some management talent for economic talent for legal talent that um um will be involved and will be required will be needed by these uh projects and um opportunities um plus um we believe that um there is potential to improve the overall if you like regulatory uh environment in the in the area by um providing additional better training to those who actually make the regulations prepare the regulations let's face it it's um better for our own mental health if you like um that whenever we have to contact be in contact with these Regulators they are better trained uh and um uh that would hope hopefully save everybody uh a lot of time a lot of nerves and um um hustle um so for those of you for those of us here uh and throughout the the economy throughout the country who are looking for a career in that area um who have maybe friends who are in the area uh in the industry uh those who um work in different areas but see the potential of crypto in their fields and uh you feel that you need that extra Edge in the management side in the economic side of things of everything crypto uh then maybe this um programming crypto and blockchain is for you uh in order to achieve that and we realize that it's quite a task um given the fact that we only have one year it's a master program of just one year uh we've lined up some um um hopefully uh useful exciting courses uh that will help you get that extra ede well of course we are an economic University uh so we focus on the economic and business side of things on the legal side of course but we can't go without the tech side so we've got some of those courses lined up um like in to blockchain and uh other similar ones uh I haven't listed them all here but um um hopefully you get the the idea uh behind Windows um a lot of management entrepreneurial um aspects will be covered um in that program um plus we can't go without um uh courses related to the legal and the regulatory aspects of things we've got the complex legal framework we got it covered uh to achieve this we have um been able and we are proud to um partner with some of the um most uh recognizable talents in the in the industry uh both on the technical and the business and the legal side uh we got um um Val mov uh we have Christo and Diana from FAS um I don't think any of these names or any of the subsequent names for that matter need any introduction um they've U collectively uh and individually uh been able to uh push that industry forward in um in our U um in our economy and globally uh so Christo will be with us uh um and uh on the legal side we have this uh great support from the sisas of crypto academy uh we have uh uh experienced um representatives of present and formal uh former representatives of the um regulatory site uh with Julian and nikai haaji um haisi sorry um plus you got the um tax aspects and the remaining legal um aspects of crypto whatever whoever is interested in the um financial side of course of crypto economics um um management of crypto assets and all that and the subsequent resulting um tax obligations and so on we got the um she's not here but I hopefully she won't mind if I call her the crypto tax queen uh Marina plus plus are own um um my colleague and my friend antoan Anan shov uh who's a um um a talent Hunter and and a startup Hunter for the Innovation um um uh fund and um himself a startup entrepreneur who will be taking care of the um entrepreneurial side of things together with some other um of our um colleagues um by the way U having mentioned mentioned all of these people um uh whom again we're quite we're very uh thankful to I should mention that U uh if you're if anybody's interested in um more information about the program uh on the 30th of this month uh we have our um our own conference our conference at the department at the University and we plan to hold a special panel um with some of these lecturers uh participating um as a way of um uh providing more information to people who might be interested into the uh program and U the prospects uh and um hopefully there you will be able to um um create new contacts uh even before you actually um start in the in the program and the industry if you haven't already um so that on that's on the 30th of this month um more information will be available um and at the contact details emails that I'll show you in a moment uh oh yeah here they are uh so um anybody who is uh uh looking forward to um one such opportunity um admissions will start in the beginning of next year so that would be um program starting in February of next year running for one year so two semesters um and if uh if that's not um if that's not um um if you believe that this is won't this won't be enough uh or if you find that uh your um contacts have other needs uh okay we plan to start this program in in um English as well and we plan to start the program in the um the so-call distance form of um um learning or teaching online um so for whoever feels that they can't um allow they can't afford the time to attend a full-time uh program um maybe that would be for you that would be suitable for you that will also be available both in um Bulgarian and in English and the big project uh the big following project besides this one will be the um undergraduate or bachelor degree program um uh in blockchain uh in crypto sorry in crypto economics uh which will hopefully uh for now we expect to start that in the beginning of next um of the next academic year uh so that would be four years of um dedicated um um teaching and studying and learning um about crypto economics and um uh related management and uh business side of it um so yeah I'm I have these contacts once again uh whenever or whoever wants to uh get more information about that uh we will be happy to uh share that uh and once again on the 30th uh we have the uh that conference with a panel dedicated to the new program um uh so we'll hopefully see you uh then thank [Applause] you I uh uh if we have some time left maybe um I will be happy to U take questions of course if you have legal experts yeah so the question was do we expect do we have legal um experts joining the course yeah um I had some of them here um they work in the uh compliance and tax uh legal side of things Marina that you saw and the isava spasa um they are we believe among the among the national local leaders in that area uh so we hopefully um and everybody will be able to benefit from their expertise in the in the field [Music] um whether whether grad of the course will be eligible to be advisers or like that right is that okay so maybe I just misunderstood the question initially um eligibility or um um being the um being able to provide um um advice or uh business advice or management advice or legal advice uh um is not something that uh just the program will be able just any program will be able to tell to give it's not a legal it's not a law program it's a business program so um any further uh subsequent um development individual development of the graduates in any area uh will be um uh up to their own U uh decisions and uh um dedication hopefully uh so it's not it's it's an officially recog recognized a master program University master program graduating with a diploma of course um at the end of the uh of the studies so any eligibility that come goes with it uh will be yeah of course there all right thank you very
