[Music] yeah I am JN Weber fifs and I am the deputy director for this Center uh Berkeley Center for responsible decentralized intelligence which is a new center as of almost three years ago at Berkeley I also have the privilege of being the founding director of our brookley blockchain accelerator um which is a non-dilutive accelerator that invites teams from around the world working on web3 blockchain Solutions into the Berkeley ecosystem so that we can collaborate together to move the Innovation forward in web 3 and blockchain um so this Center is focused on everything decentralized um and I'll show you a little bit about what we do it's campus-wide and multi-disciplinary and we have faculty from across a campus and we fund research across a campus um you know it builds on berkly strong foundation in open source uh we do a lot of Open Source education and code development in Berkeley RDI we do three things um we're kind of unique as we don't do just research we also do education and community/ Entrepreneurship we have core faculty here at Berkeley that spans from the law school we also have Affiliated faculty at other universities that we work with closely and we really try to make RDI an open collaborative platform with everyone working in the space so a lot of times you'll see the work that we do is in in conjunction with other universities some of our research you can see here we've published over 20 papers in the last two years um we do a lot around like zero knowledge proofs um decentralized Finance um privacy in the metaverse and what that will look like and scalability also what's interesting I don't know if any of you remember the term moo massively open online course we do a lot of our courses online with thousands of people enrolled around the world so we did one that I thought was super interesting on zero knowledge proofs and shaffy goldwaser who is the co-inventor of zero knowledge proofs here at Berkeley she gave a lecture that now has 36,000 views on our YouTube channel so really like amazing content produced in these open-source courses so you can find these on the RDI YouTube channel you just go to our website rd. berkeley.edu and you can find any of our courses with fabulous content we also do a lot of work at the intersection of decentralization and AI so I'll talk a little bit more about that but Professor Don song is very interested in that area specifically we also on the campus have three student blockchain clubs so we have a very large blockchain community and then this is the accelerator that I mentioned earlier we've worked with 110 teams who have went on to raise over 650 million ion and this is our work at the intersection of AI and decentralization we held a very large conference last August um over a thousand people uh attended um in poly ballrooms at Berkeley so you can see all of our events on our website but um you know we're really happy to be part of this open- Source activity here today and we look forward to collaborating with all of you that are participants here so thank you very much for letting bar Berkeley RDI be a part of this [Music]
