Transcript

uh so we're going to be having the opportunity to learn from you know the super team case study um building a Global web3 community and to take us on that is none other than the man himself Harry OB a round of applause for him [Music] please please if you're clapping clap well good to go um Jim everyone so my name is I get plenty name bo before I introduce myself I just want to see the hands of myself if you've heard about Super S just wave I can't capture this video need to send it to my bosses I need a salary increase it means we're doing an amazing job I'm it for you guys though I even if you know he I'm just trying of have you had of super team nice so um yeah so a lot of a lot of to know um what is the secret Source um and let me give you a bit of context yeah before super team there was really no before super team there was really no s community in Nigeria I want you guys to understand what exactly that means yeah so if you've been in the web three space longer than two three years um the predominant sort of community narrative ecosystem in Africa has been um the ethereum ecosystem yeah and that is why I don't blame the ecosystem that either switch from being an L1 to become an etherum L2 or existing companies that want to start a chain and they rather be an um an eum L2 because there's an ecosystem to tap from the resources to T from there are tools the developers to T from yeah and there I don't to mention any any chains name but I mean if you're new to to the ethereum ecosystem as an el2 you already have developers that sort of understand the programming language understand the ecosystem it's very easy for developers to move from one L2 to another L2 yeah that is not the case for Solana especially in Africa we literally had to build a community from scratch so the fact that I someone met me outside and said you can't mention top three Community without mentioning super team um it speaks to the fact that that amazing work has gone into building this amazing this this super duper dope community and I'm just going to give you like some tips how many me do I have MAA let's give you some tips of some of of how we've been able to do this um and this is going to be a global example not just African example so how do you be the multimillion dollar crypto Community you know they work oh work how do I go back so who's controlling this is it me oh I more technology um so super team is present in 14 countries um it started in India and currently he's in the UK Germany Vietnam um Malaysia Nigeria um and so far we've generated 6 ion in community GDP um we've had 5,000 plus hackaton registrations and 50,000 physical Meetup that is an incredible number for a small community yeah now before I jump into it so who is arising some of you might be wondering um first of all I'm the co-lead of super team Nigeria so I lead the Nigerian chapter um I'm Primary in charge of marketing and Community we have another lead who is largely charge of business death partnership overall strategy um I also because of the work that I do with super team I also help with African expansion for Solana ecosystem projects and then in my spare time I advise um Global and Local web three projects so that me a summary I'm not going to tell you I'm not going to tell you my history because I'm a bit embarrassed about that for those of you that know just put down for your chair no no loud down those not any I don't before no loud down um so yeah um so introduction yeah so the human operating system runs on communities yeah it is the sense of the sense of community is probably one of the oldest and most primitive human senses which was developed a community offers a sense of mutuality connection security and empathy there's there's this innate natural orge to to blend to belong to a community yeah true or false that is why some of you are ctist because you want to why they laugh now anybody laugh now ctist because there's this natural natural art to belong to a group of people um for for for security purpose for EMP T purpose um to connect it's just a very natural instinct yeah so it's brilliant that communities are actually very important in web three space yeah um the first thing that has made super team what it is become the multi-million dollar community that it is is um our our focus on building social Bond yeah at Super ttim people come to make friends people come to find lovers no people they come cheag people normal yeah people come to me business partners people come to hang out yeah that is for some people that is the most important thing for them the fact that they want to be social born they want to make friends and because they have a friend that is a member of super team or whenever they go to super team events they get to hang out with like people like them people that are interested in web three um they get to meet this fine girl they get to meet this business partner um that is exact that social bond is exactly what is attracting them to super team the other things that we um that we do as a community including jumping on bounties um building the Solana ecosystem them getting instr helping with Venture Capital introduction are are are just something you see on the layer but underneath it is this internal this innate need to to to belong to a group yeah so your community must not just be even it's a developer Community yeah it must not just be a place where people just come to go and and they go home yeah you want to create sort of activities that be social bond that is is why at super team we we we take our state moderators to we we we flow our state mod moderators all 2122 of them to Legos for them to become friends for them to bond so even if you're building a developer Community you want to create activities outside of the work so that they can build um um Bond it is very very important that is the only reason they will keep coming back not because you're teaching them anything special I mean there's so many developer communities so why should they keep coming to your your own community events it is because they have friends there that are developers it's because they have business partners that are developers it's because they've made livelong friends and they want to still be in that that particular um cirle that particular community so ensure that you builded social bond that is the only reason that they will keep coming back the next is finding your nostal metric if I ask you what is your nostal metric as a community now as a community founder or as a community Builder many of you do not know if I ask you what is a nost metric or we developer and so what developer Comm and so what we designer commit and so what at Super same there are three key anchor points one is Capital One is content and one is community every damn thing that we do is centered around these three things is a nostal metric yeah so Capital making money for the community making money for the members um being productive um content as you can see content is part of our DNA so like MAA said what are they doing so what what kind of marketing are they doing that is making them um The Talk of the Town is because content is part of our DNA we actively um push out content as a community um we encourage commune members to P our content we incentivize content actually we have grants for Content yeah we also have bounties for Content so that should also um that is also what has made us basically um um um the community that we are today and that is community community is very important yeah everything that we do is is is centered around this the fact that I've already talked about social Bor I've already talked about just that natural inate need we understand sort of that insight and that is guiding everything that we do at super team another point that is that might probably look very banal and very consequential actually hiring of a qualified talent what does that mean yeah what does that mean I I'll give an example um Becka who is the lead for super team Germany has a PHD she has no business managing a community there the community managers like the commun manager for example in secondary school and universities they doing an amazing job but what does a PhD Holder have to do with managing a community so what's what's the super team globalist are have been able to do is before they open a super Team chapter they want to find the best talent in that region in terms of Bea in terms of content in terms of marketing yeah um also I don't know if I'm over qualified but I'm starting my doctor degree in October um I've handled marketing for two top five centralized exchanges my lead also has multiple degrees from foreign universities we have no business managing the community we've we've handled multi-million dollar businesses but super Global is are the strategy is you know what regardless of where these people are coming from I want to hire the best in the field and the example is just abound from from super team UK to to Germany um you find the the most qualified talents and you give them the gig um we also um we we also utilize this strategy um when Hiring Our State moderators So currently super team is in 23 States active in 23 States um and one of the things that we do is we find people that are very competent miracle that just gave his speech handles the can Community miracu has done an amazing job with several projects yeah um he's also a marketing manager for another project but he works as a community manager for super team Ino it's just incredible how um how we utilize this strategy you find the most qualified people you tell them we know so you don't pass this work as commune manager but come us run this ship and that has been um um really instrumental to our growth as a community another one is setting smart objectives I mean you can claim that you're the best community we have won aaton we have done this you've done that what there's no evidence I mean how can I improve that yeah so we have something called the stat dashboard in super team everybody can see if you say you are if you say you're developing your your you're You're Building um you're growing your community GDP what is the evidence that you're growing a community GDP currently we can track our community GDP our community GDP is $184,000 which is 300 million NAA equivalent in Nira um so that means that Nigerian super team member have made over 300 million n since we started a little over a year ago and about 80 90 something per of that amount came in the last six to nine months yeah so it's trackable you must you must set smart objective um for example this are this the screenshot of AAR dashboard super team GDP not to clear from here but 22,000 people have attended super team events um Twitter followers and a few other metrics so you must you must be able to track your metrics track your kpis it's not just telling everybody oh um um um um um what the biggest community in West Africa or telling somebody that we have the most developers in Africa or we're the most followed what is the proof what what is the evidence so we track uh we set smart objectives and then we're able to track um all of our kers and all of our results and you can see them um in real time basically I think I'm done um yes I'm on X um I don't think you should follow me because I'm always looking for trouble on X but want to follow me follow me once in a while I TW about my work I TW about um um we marketing to about Community Building tweet about the co that we do super team um so that's it so finally please answer my market please come for five years DC so our friends are s wallets um they're giving everybody five years DC so um after my first presentation there's a massive crowd um outside Bo um scan for five years you follow them on Twitter at sare wallets and you can come to S boot in the main hall and you get your 5 years DC thank you very much
