yeah okay good morning guys how many of you came for ENS workshop okay how many people just like chillin yeah okay yeah so welcome this is called ENS so Jesse who has a yen s name good like 30% for these people who have a yen s I have a in a sticker where you can write down your precious DNS name it's like a hello my name is bra so you can ask I can send me ease and you just sticky and during the conference you get rich and I hope today I'm gonna talk about has anyone been to the audio there's already two talks in the morning we went to the previous talks okay nobody okay so this one who's interested actually integrated thing so like okay so that's the main audience but like during the Q&A if you have a generic question about yen s in the last five minutes if we have time feel free to ask you know because that was very oddly so I even I wasn't there so I don't know why he talked so let's go yeah first of all my name is Makoto and that's my twitter handle and i'm also known as something called party app called kick back which does like it also parties things and there is one tomorrow lunchtime so if you're interested go to kickback door events that my shooting time is over and so today are gonna talk about basically three things the first is like when you know we often push to like you know like in a adoption and the inter and the integrating into your DUP is the best ways to adopt by you you may not have much idea like what actually that means so our gonna go through like what can you do is CNS to just get give you some inspiration tips then I go to ENS contrast and API overview there are lots of code and it's only like 20 30 minutes so I don't go through every single detail because I'll share these slides after what I copy around the whole day today and also I will be at the unis Paris hackathon so you can grab me and ask more detail but there I will probably talk about the smoke on just structure to give you a brief idea but actual command line just you know read a slide later and lastly some pro tips like we do you have a house anyone does anyone know ENS manager app we are making okay one yeah so we actually have a frontier to you hello good morning where are you anyway so there's a yeah tap which uses it helps you to kind of a diminished your DNS name easier which is a biggest use case you know lots of cold example by actually integrating we CNS and there's the other guy called Jeff Lao he does a kind of lead on a front-end development but I also helped him out so like yeah that's it actually the biggest place to learn and I can't kind of share a few tips which might help you go through so far okay yeah so what can you do with your ans so there's a first three steps did you know do you guys know this is a scan stuff who has been who has you Z is a scam before huh okay if you don't know why is asking is okay so other people just like non-responsive like I'm too sleepy to joke with you that's fine you know how many people actually you know like you usually put copy and paste you same address how many people you actually know that you can sort you is like DNS name one yeah so first way is like you first way be interesting is like this is this is no necessary the tap for any app like even though if you create a Dex exchange or something if you have someone anyway you have to specify ENS name after you same address you you should support such him by this name by the metal Condor is that's my DNS name so like if you do that it basically tells you what address is so this is a first step second step is actually quite less known that one of the question we I get asked is like okay so you can find out the same address by looking at ENS name can you do the reverse answer is yes and no and I say no faster okay a ENS we don't store the ENS name for example a token door is as is we actually hash it so that like you know hash tons like variable things into the fixed things so you can put like as many no matter how long your name is we can in that means when you cataloger and the stuff he only shows the hash information so it's really hard to kind of reverse what the information is unless you do the dictionary attack what we do have a is a something called reverse record which allows user to set tie in what ENS name are associated to this same address so doing the in a reverse lookup and this is one of the example that like before that kicked back I used to have a co-ed block party and we had so this is invented getting up so like we use it for the DNS workshop and the hackathon we did last year during the summer and this is just like you know say people registered and most people like example this is my friend ROM most people just don't have the information so it just shows the XD CC but if you have a reverse registration up you can dub can she Eva what that name was so I could put my token door is another thing is like you know from this area often people like it once you sign in you might have your avatar or something rather than showing their ex proper address you could actually put the ENS name so that's kind of second level reintegration and the one sure thing which we did is we we knew people's ENS name up front so when people register using that we actually like a custom custom printed every participants in a subdomain and we put in a t-shirt so like I have these premium features where my back says like my taco is like everywhere so like I'm automatically - name so that's the usage and third one is giving subdomain who had used geek coin one interested who don't know get going 20% I think so geek coin is a bounty system kind of tied in with who don't know github okay one so G hobbies like doing a Facebook yeah okay so it's a social network right so social network for coders and women coders write a program they stopped me into this Facebook for github and what get going allows is like it puts a bounty that if there are some bugs or some issues they put github only does like you know here here is the issue but keep going kinda integrates this key have that they can say like hey if you help me feel help in this issue I'll give you coins and they often it could be is either I could be died and they actually as part of the onboarding know as part of my body I think they say like you know and they also they do create a username based on their github profile ID and if you do have a day or actually let you create a market or get coined or is so this is a kind of final stage like which really help ENS adoption as was like a I often tell them that this is a hot-melt moment the imagine people sitting there ENS you know when they show their ENS name if it's a subdomain of your app they're you you up as well it's like you're in the hotmail how hot melt like spread or like in the market email me a Makoto the hotmail calm oh well it's just hotmail thing right - I say miss you the holidays like you know early 90s you know so like a that's something we usually encourage and so that was kind of three things you should be using for the ENS like six months ago this is pretty much the same as what I present that they've gone for by same world like you know really really move fast so like there's a few other things coming up idea for is how many of you guys know universal login universal login so you knew how many knows idea so like it this is an idea that like a if you're interested there's a talk day three one start in somewhere so you can get into more detail but this one is the hybrid of so many advanced the idea that it's basically using sorry ENS subdomain as a universal login it's almost like almost like when you say like you know do you log in as like Twitter or Facebook you say do you want to log in with in a subdomain of which given by these you know top-level domain like you know oregano or like a geek include if they integrate when they do sign up you use ENS name and the next time you you go to add up you could log in with that that's one idea and also it comes with the idea of like a smart country as multisig so one of the user UX problem is that if like everybody who has meta mask yeah so like you know in the meta mass account it has account as well a hold of funds right so like if that's get hacked you lose it so the idea is rather than each end and the point keeper has a fund let's put that in a mounting as a small contra and each so for example meta mask or other wallets or can just be the kind of warm limited key to authenticate or deny so like if you have like you know lose your form or something if you if you let multiple device to be connected to this Universal login you could do social recovery over to in a multi-factor authentication that's another idea to make it possible another key word you have to understand something called meta transaction the now the account doesn't have any ease so you have to someone has to pay the gas for that so like there's a whole idea of like how was your abstract once that happens people could start using the is we sell ideas could actually pay the gas not using East but you could use any RC 20,000 or die so these whole like last six months of progress its I summarized into this universal login so I highly recommend if that my three minutes of a pep-talk interested you goes to yeah another event so that's another new thing number five is decentralized web we stopped not another talk for 25 so I think I just filled you all the schedule of today for you so and so the idea is I get often asked so like many people think ENS name is like something something that is and they often I get asked questions like oh can you say IP address associated to ENS name the my answer usually is you could technically camp but there's not much point but instead what we usually recommend is like a who knows ipfs one okay yeah so if you have ipfs well like you know you it has a like a Content hash right then you can rather than putting e so e ENS if I have matter code or is one thing is there's API call set a DDL to set the same address but there is also another field cursor content hash where you can put the these suami PFS endpoint and now something like it up node allows you to point to this static asset using the east name so that's if you want to get into this one go to this talk but even for you so this is something I think you have to insert a note on something or something something like box or something but we start doing that already so this is a new standard that he recently oops came out it's called EIP one five seven seven which is a new ways to so one thing are you guys with me she's not with you know with you with me okay so basically yes in essence primary role is to resolve the same address so there's a ways to say yes but there's also ways to say content that that was the initial spec and people start just had put in the swamp wipe ESS hash into this field problem is it's hard to see whether this is one more ipfs so that tap wore like a and the wallet to integrate have no idea which one to resolve so to overcome the issue we came up with a new standard quarry IP 105 77 which has the basically the this protocol allows you to prepare the protocol information prepared and then put content hash so we at the tap you can decode and see oh this is one so hence you points to this that kind of stuff and hasn't even been to the opera's talk you know para browser one yeah so so you you know like it now a pair supports that the eth address or both the old former and new format so if you suppose that you can have like metal code or s as a website no point in to IP address but pointing to your SWA my PFS hash so I think this is area which could be more interesting because again then if you combine with this the DEP know that you you could actually have the whole things resolved we sell even having like Internet I think okay and I think this is kind number 6 is who's into Big Data two three four yeah so you know serum is a public kind of date ledger so all the data is exposed so there's lots of like de science company big data companies in trying to find out new data to explore and but trying to run your own node and try to index each event on yourself by yourself takes lots of infrastructure investment but there's some one like the graph protocol data graph they already do the indexing for you and they even create a who knows graph QL yeah so graph QL is a it's kinda no it's not as secure but like it's a query language which allows you to kind of query things and there's something called sub graph which will define the schema information just like in SQL you know their schema there's a graphical format and they did that and they they do index and they actually define these schema for a couple of known daps such as like a live here or Dharma all the stuff and the ENSA is one of them so you can already basically query that information using this graphics folder so if you also explore the data and try to find out interesting days this is a one especially that like you know I don't know if you guys know that you know to get the DNS domain it's auction and the ocean like and we have always a discussion like a fuse the squatters all the stuff maybe using this data you could explore like some interesting dataset and yeah so idea $9.99 who's going to is Paris - yes so but this purse is just a one is global event and I don't even we announced but like it now we are sponsoring all the ASIC global events so that next one is coming who's going to s Cape Town yeah zero okay don't worry there will be wine in New York India Boston and the more to come I think if you go there that yeah you know ENS teams and there's a small prize all the stuff so like you now once you get hopefully inspired time to apply one of these okay so that's the kind of ideas stage and what's the time how many moments ten more minutes ten okay cool so now is kind of dry papa for the next five minutes is basically if you are really interested we just wrote a whole new dog and actually this is wrong the way I think if you got dogs en esta domains there's a whole things there so one one takeaway from this talk is write it down or take a photo of dog cns domains and they go there and if you have questions grub me okay but like this one's up yeah just quite up to date one so like it would be good and also has anyone seen old dog no.11 yeah you know like if that was written like you back in 2017 you know something so the under the assumptions that you have ever seen you on your the entire blockchain when your local laptop because like fasting is like hey startup guests and they sink in full last time I did was 2016 so that was a quite hard hard to even start but this time now like it's very more than updated and so Andy he has a reference E virus libraries like web sweet Jessie Sturgis web 3j web 3 PI that kind of stuff so whatever the tool you choose there should be easier to find and so this is an architecture that yeah this is actually one the oldest smart country on live since 2017 Maeda force so this is going to be the history of Assyria you know if you have the pop course when like ens was launched 2070 may the force be with you that's how you remember and the new registration is also two thousand 90s may the force be with you yeah so and when you first deployed basic is ENS the entire country is just a dictionary you know they're the key and there's a body if you pass a key in returns value so it's the same and the one is called registry but if we simple but like you know all the new things evolving right and also we know that your SmartWatch has some sort of immutable immutable things so once you deploy it it's bloody hard to kind of swap around so the simplest simplest approach to make upgradable making upgradable is the registry doesn't have that logic to resolve how to in a lookup but reddish so register yeah registry only has the information of the key to the cup pointing to something called resolver resolver has the whole logic of a hand to look up so like when you first see it the registry and this is important especially you are kind of passing invincible interesting because for example like you did lots of like you know a popular tap dashboard and the ENS you might think it's no as active it's because they are only looking at the events of the registry but registry only has a partial information the lots of logic covered I know what address peace what content has been said is actually in this resolver address which can be swappable depending on what you want to do and that's a one important thing and yeah so this is a floor like first you user ask like you know hey resolver i want to look up this who Tory is and the registry only returns the address of the resolver then you ask the resolver like what is the address of the this thing then you return so it's like a two-step which has a bit of like a downward UX side effect like our unis manager he says service over and the most user like you what the hell is resolver but this is why it is and yeah so this is a resolver example this is simplest case it just says like this is like most seediest resolver like whatever you put you put returned like your address in reality he has no transported this just kind of shows like interface over there some sicko addr which yeah that's an interface and I'll gonna go through this part it quickly because I think I'm running out of time and yeah javascript is amend libraries and this is yeah that Archer is a code to get the address this is a like basic step one to unity boil you don't have to understand it just read the doc Claytor and the reverse resolution is this syntax but interesting about reverse resolution it's inside it's just another namespace so we already know that there is a domain TLD called ETH the hidden secret is there another secret domain called double V bus and the way it's actually setting the reverse record is actually using your ECM address door addr door reverse and you just a DNS name of the value so you're just using same hierarchy but like it's just hiding underneath and that's how reverse vehicle works oh yeah one thing one yeah and this is how to say reverse and this is contra yeah interesting thing is you has anyone used like my crypto or me to eject a small contra yeah yeah good like now you guys raising your hands we saw asking that's great I like that attitude so it's quite knowing isn't it like a you just pick the address and then you have to copy and paste the ABI address right so you can actually put that information we see the ENS so like a I think I think that's what it does is control yeah so you can do that with so test culture at address it kind of returns out interface or something I don't this one then you have the tall instance interface but again with the doc this one is very long so I'm gonna just skip yeah it's five minutes I think I just only show you that what one of the user interface looks like and I'll skip the whole code underneath is that like it so this is a company called zinc which is I think it's like a link team for like web world and how they do is they use issue ENS sub domain name as part of the user onboarding that lucky you know when you first login he asked you to like a hey account we created what kind of a name you want and you just type it in and you put more detail and then you sign it and the proper bar and you get the name so one that design consideration is do you actually want to do it and why what's the reason against not doing any idea is that sign up is because the hardest place in terms of user onboarding right like when people say sign up most people have other people drop off then you are and if you have to get sub domain and if user have to pay the gas you had you know people have to have an easy address all that stuff so that's going to be huge implication on user onboarding so someone like you think they actually use some sort of like flavor meta transaction that they actually extracted the gas of the user so they pay for the gas and I believe that's done by geek coin as well so if you try to just create it I'll warn you that you know the user Joe post drop out goal would be very huge that's just a tip and yeah they're cold tipped proper bar you just read it later boom boom boom done okay so okay so the last bit is a bit pro tip you are creating your test in this name yes so whenever I go to the so last year at Def Con when we did a similar workshop and one of the harder is like a okay who's who has a unis name yeah so half right so D when you go to workshop but like a more than half the people don't have a unis name and if you don't have a ENS name then it's hard to get and you could buy some domain if you go to now door ENS domain.com no ENS not domains but if you actually want to have that name I should name you have to you see how to go to seven days also auction process which is a pain and you can't do it during the workshop so what it allows is that yeah so this is a manager - if you don't you've never visited but like a so if you connect it to the test there this one says as a rasp and you actually have a test tod code test and this one is like a just a first-come first-served and i don't know if you can read but like any if it's no yeah so this is interesting so if it's owned anyone can own it but after 30 days it's kind of allows any ones to claim so like I don't want like squatter to just test it once and then leave it forever so in this case I already have my Coto dot test and set the owner and resolve all the stuff but that I did it like last year so it's expired once it's expired anyone can claim just by clicking this button so if he wants to play around but in an evil adding subdomain the stuff it cost gas and they it's no fun to keep losing lots of money for just testing purpose then just do it using the dot test domain it's free so it's a yeah there's no so many free thing in this one but this is free for everybody yeah yeah so another thing is like a you know you guys what free mug do you guys use truffle and bark zero why else sorry right here's just chatting yeah so most of the people have some sort of test frame mark and when you test you probably use something like ganas which is a memory database and they these a memory database doesn't have ans built-in so you kind of have to deploy right like so if there's a couple solutions to allow it yeah this is something like ens builder which is built by the guys who create is building the universal login because universal longing has to have any ns whenever they do development they already have some sort of library which I never used so just use it and let me know how good or bad but ENS will allow you and also so this is a em and bag em bug have ENS built in actually as a part of so I think the deploying a memory database so lucky other in a configuration file it already lets you to specify in a new route domain and other stuff so if you again I haven't used embark but try it out it might be good and let me know okay yeah so like I was doing a quest so yeah my friends we writes a lots about things in medium dog space is the most important and also I yeah oh yeah oh yeah lasting so lasting so the reason I don't use the embark is older so one important thing which I didn't even know when I first got to know NS is I so ans is such a core infrastructure so it's almost like I don't guess or whisper like it's some developer tool but it's actually just a small contra right so if these some of the end library web speech a story says J's may not have all the features which we describe in that case you can just go to the small contra and you can inquire you can go to like you know my crypt immune and they just inject directly or also it's Bo all the contra is just we also deploy using truffle and we publish them in I am packaged so you can actually just when you deploy deploy country you can just do artifacts or require a truffle then if you put the you know this one you can actually just deploy and I think ENS builder is to wrap it up and also when you call from yes yes you can call it from this one so there's a one commanding NPM package to run certain build script upon which we do so when it happens truffle usually when you compile the small conjure it creates a JSON artifacts in the build directory that's already in the MPM package so rather than have don't hard-code es interface or anything into your project just like you know included using NPM so that's a recommended way that's it any questions thank you you have question time or do we have time for questions couple one we have a shots for actually but yeah sorry I think you need a mic yes so whoever she's gonna pass it on she has a whole responsibility are you guys are nice like you asked whoever has a who has a best question make it count make it interesting it's just a basic question I just want to know do you have a place where you reference the resolvers the latest we should use or something like that great question great great question so if you go to manager though ENS first thing is that you you know if you go to Motoko XYZ I'm sorry no ETH there's a place to set resolver there is a link to say click default quick the default resolver and it pops up the one which we use as a standard which happened to be is just like has a ENS name called resolver door s so lucky you know we just eat dog food so just look at with obrador is which has a default latest one and and then so another thing is resolver has different types if you go to the Bible so some resolver might have a different interface but if you go to the resolver github project I created a one JSON file which has an aggregation of different ones so if you wants to have one UI which cater for different razorba you you you should use that one yeah okay thank you very much [Applause] [Laughter]
