[Music] so so uh as a from Thailand so I'm I'm uh glad to like put give you some inside information about how we develop this datto economy in uh the last several years and what would be the opportunity and challenge for for you guys so briefly about Deepa we are government agency so you can maybe you can see from my look that I quite formal but I try to make this session like informative for you and would be like quite useful for for you to uh start thinking on uh collaborating with Thailand yeah yeah all right okay so uh this will be like exk of extend of the information from Dr kit uh who also like our long partner that we work together for a long time uh about Thailand economies yes uh we we has been like uh Detroit of Asia that we we happy about attracting investment uh from abroad on those factories manufacturing the cars and Export the cars and uh but the majority of the of the people uh are still in agricultures and those smmes including those micro that you can see on the street that they uh staff doing things uh and oh thank you but those people in these two sector agriculture they contribute very small uh amount in the GDP and also in the export value so uh the the challenge of the country is that how can we help those sectors to be more productive uh to help them with their uh like the cost of operation how to make them like more have more productivities uh and another thing is that we also do study on on the adoption of Technologies in different sectors like industry Agriculture and tourism and we still still see that it's very low adoption in the technology and that's also uh limit us to to move forward into like uh higher income countries so from the last study in the data industry uh we can see the growth uh in the last few years quite significant uh right now is contribute uh almost about 12% 133% nowadays and in the near future is expect to reach to 30% and the main sector are still in this Hardware smart device and uh the promising sector is still in in software industry and also the de service that's grow quite a lot during during last years and the thing I would like to point out is the in the digal service sector it's really like large sector in Thailand as well and we can see that uh from the past uh in the fintech industry is really strong in Thailand and that also Drive many other industry like e-commerce uh and also logistic because e-commerce platform is really like popular among typ people and we do like uh onl shopping like where uh like almost every day so that really drive the economy but also also other sectors that also grow quite a lot during last year like uh this education technology and also the the healtech the percentage is quite big but uh the volume is still not that big uh but anyway that's also quite promising industry that uh could be a chance for for doing business in Thailand and when we look in the level of the people you can see some significant number that uh we are quite heavy user on on this internet and also the mobile things uh there are some statistic about this uh Mobile payment that quite significant in Thailand that we we do it we get used to that and also it's Drive the e-commerce uh industry and uh with this uh it's also Drive the payment system called uh the prom pay maybe many of you have heard that it's kind of like case study in in Southeast Asia that uh people in Thailand really get used to this QR payment the number of uh doing this mobile payment uh far way far beyond all other countri Asia the transaction per day you can imagine like more than 50 million transaction per day us be using the QR payment so that's also drive all sectors industry that relate to to to this uh fintech uh another thing like because of this happen because one good thing is that we have quite good infrastructure that government also uh work with the telom company investing in this uh infrastructure on the internet the broadband service and and the mobile network that cover of the network with high speed is really like cover most of the area of the Thailand so uh from that then we see the growth in the in the digal sectors and and the needs of the digal technology in to help those uh majority of the Tai businesses so DEA was established to to to help on the promotion on that from from development the plan support the Manpower development which is the big issue in Thailand and also do support promote the investment uh cooperate with like other eny and propose the law decoration as you see that uh the change of the technology is really fast now day and and we have to have like uh regulation that really help the business and help those technology to be adapt in in the industry uh so briefly about Deepa we we have uh like headquarter in Bangkok but we also have branches in all around Thailand uh in shangai they're quite active and they work with the nomads in in shangai as well there are quite many Nomads in shangai I think it's the it's the uh the city in Thailand that has like the most Nomad living there but also there are like the don't noat in those Island that you you may know of those uh hangan isand and suu Island as well uh so for us we we have those branches around Thailand to help us to work closely with with the with the local and uh the key point that we are working on is the keyword in the middle transformation to help the transform of those agriculture who are the main sector of the uh business in Thailand industry that also they need the technology to help them to uh perform better in their businesses and also the community that like in who live in the far away area in Thailand uh so the main uh one of the major program is the startup supporting program that we we do uh in terms of the investment and also a program that help them grow and the end end way is like to promote all this and drive it to the smart city which also like the major program that we run uh but and uh at this cross uh uh this on other the Manpower things uh we promote the literacy uh and also up skill res skill those workers in the industry and also for the de developer as well uh this is the landscape of the startup support in Thailand uh we have like quite I think the most number of the CVC in Southeast Asia uh that uh invest in the startup but there also like private VC and but anyway those uh those uh those VC and CVC they mainly uh invest in the gross set up that that's already like profit profit profitable and also like uh have uh steady income uh but for early stat it's quite challeng in in for us and for soueast Asia so government support a lot on this in this area and and for Deepa we looking for like startup that work with us to transform the country so we are kind of in the middle from between seed and growth and there some mechanism that uh also apply uh for well for as a government uh most of the support is mainly for like Tha register company but there also some program that uh for example if uh if you start a business with Partnership of Thai company or register business uh in Thailand so you can get uh access to that as well but for the the the funding support mainly is for for Tha company uh anyway we try to uh work together with all uh with other vs on in terms of the co-funding and also Tha government other agency uh who focus on other sector like uh Health Healthcare and food Tech they also try to develop mechanism that work together with the with the v as well to be more flexible to provide funding for the startup uh apart from the funding uh we also think about how to support the start up to uh to grow and the challenge is the in the in the private sector like customer that use the startup uh product or service like uh you can't imagine like in agriculture sector in Thailand they have they have been doing business uh doing the farming for many decades and when we try to introduce technology to them it's really challenging for them to to accept and then start to use that so we provide like kind of waser and matching fund for them to implement those solution to them and then when they see that it's really uh help their business then they can continue using that from from the startup and another big Market is the government Market the the public sectors and it's also quite difficult for small business like startup to enter to those market so we we create the mechanism called T catalog that uh allow allow the setup to list that product in that and the government can procure that product directly with special procurement method so that's really uh help many uh government agency to procure like service from the startup and for the Global Talent uh we have program that uh support the the talent to come into the to the country like uh smart Visa that enable the uh start up from other country to to start business in Thailand and live in Thailand for up to two years with that Visa type and and now we have a DTV Destin Thailand Visa this is uh I think quite many uh many Nomads also apply to this already and it's eligible for for for those who would like to export and start a business in Thailand so that they they can live with the longer Visa than like travel visa and shortly about the Smart City uh as Deepa we we are Secretary of the Samar City Committee of Thailand uh so we work together with uh all the city across Thailand and and help them to to plan how to develop the city and these like seven main focus area from uh environment energy Mobility economy living governance and people and the concept is that uh for for the city well they may not really need like very advanced technology but they have to understand the people understand the city that what could help them to live better in the cities so as DEA we we work with them and then try to match them with the solution provider like start up and encourage like the poc in the cities and also the procur of the city through our the mechanism that I I explained so right now uh we have like almost 40 cities that got like the badges of the SM City and also more than 100 in the pipeline that they are still under the developing the plan and also uh looking for the solution uh to work with them and then develop their cities as well and last L uh in order to work with uh and cooperate with International partners and also uh is is of doing business of the uh the company from other country to Thailand so we we have a fxip program called T this one is in eecd eastern economic Corridor for digital this one it has the highest promoted uh area and highest like uh incentive in Thailand is in the Sia like 30 minutes from from from uh Paya maybe you have heard about the cities and 1 hour from from Bangkok so this one is going to finish uh end of next year is this could be like the digal Hub uh for for Innovation digal Innovation development and also for business to start there and cooperate with the with the industry in the area because in that area there are more than 30 industrial estate and S uh and they need technology they need solution uh to help their business and but also another another sector that we are focusing on is about data content the the creative industry so like gaming uh animation and C character that we are also supporting so uh for us we try to dive uh Thailand as the startup friendly City and working with the private sectors those industry uh and so the startup and also like partner from many countries like APAC down and also uh key driver in the country like uh like rice uh to promote and work together to to help uh the innovative business to establish and start in Thailand with all the incentive that we provide like uh corporate income tax exemption uh personal income tax rate fixed at 17% for example and uh those testing of the technology in the area as well so uh this shortly about Thailand digal economy and how uh can we work together to to support like innovation in the country in the region because uh Thailand uh you you may see like uh Thailand we have like 67 million population but as a region is like 700 million it's huge and you can access to those through Thailand as well so thank you so much thank you so much for would you mind taking a picture [Music]
