Every soluted developer knows that a smart contract starts with the word pragma. It's not just the beginning of a developer's journey, but for us it's a call towards pragmatism.
Welcome to Buenas.
Pragma for me is always a high signaling event. It's about being pragmatic because a lot of web 3 is kind of up in the clouds and this is looking for actual solutions.
It is an amazing place to build and develop products on top of the crypto infrastructure you have and be able to offer them to people who desperately need them.
The goal here is to bring to a wider audience. The people that come are very much founders, builders, the people that are in the trenches building the technology. And so the conversations you have seems very much worth it in the end after the connections you make, the new leads that come in, you know, the friendships that evolve over time. Youth Global events are some of my favorite events in the industry. I always tell new builders and even current builders to come to these events because they can really feel the dynamic of other builders who are excited about building and doing cool things.
I think that at Pragma the new builders are going to learn where they can go, what they can shoot for, what the established people and protocols are currently doing. I feel like you can just learn so much about where the industry is going and all the innovations that people are doing. I think that's one of the best pieces of it.
Today I was talking at Pragma about Crescent, a movement in Argentina to try and bring Argentina onchain.
My talk was about how zero knowledge proofs can allow you to customize application to allow for different levels of privacy. What excites me about coming into a room full of founders and builders is that they can really empathize with each other on, you know, what it is to be a founder and like what it is to build. And so when you're up speaking or when you get in conversations with them and you can talk through the reality of, you know, what things are like, it creates a camaraderie and a sense of connection. What is really cool, there's always a whole bunch of people around who are insanely helpful. It's very friendly and casual and maybe has a little bit less of that kind of crypto bro kind of environment that some of the conferences have.
Keep building, keep iterating, keep trying stuff.
